[Psalms 139:1-7]
David is emphasizing that if God’s presence can be in heaven and hell what more about the earth? He understood that God’s dwelling is not in heaven — He puts Heaven and Hell in the same level. He (God) is there because of someone and that someone is me.
So if every believer exits then Heaven will be empty because the dwelling of God is not with Heaven but with men. People want to go where they will bring the presence and not where they will get the presence. They want to go to Heaven yet they do not know that when they enter, they are the ones who bring the presence. The presence cannot be in Heaven if Paul is not there.
But I am here to tell you that Heaven is empty because the Bible says that we are surrounded by the cloud of witnesses, meaning that they had to vacate Heaven just to surround us. The one whom God has occupied, He wants them to be with the ones who are resting in Him.
So, you will go to Heaven and you will not find Peter or Paul. Even though Heaven opened to receive them, after the Lord Jesus Christ, they are now with us.
When I say we are surrounded, it is not height but authority. The spiritual realm is higher than the physical realm. So do not mistaken that when I raise my hands high I am saying that I worship God who is high in height or distance. He is not high in height or distance but He is high in the spiritual realm.
David speaks about his experience of how God is with him. He says if I ascend high, not if I die and go to Heaven, meaning that the same way that Jesus ascended, David can also do that, it is a choice. Many do not want to ascend to Heaven but want to go to the graveyards so that they can use the graveyards to ascend. As a spiritual being, you need to be able to ascend.
The presence of God is always with us. You just need to acknowledge it, you do not need a car sticker to have it. You must understand how an anointing works. When you have a sticker you have enabled a function, you did not invite God because He respects anointing. When He has anointed someone with healing, He will honor that.
When the person that is anointed says be healed, God honors the function He has bestowed in that person. All of them had the presence of God but they were given grace according to the measure of Christ’s gift. God gives us grace in different measures.
You do not have the same grace that I have but because I am your father [in the Lord], you are benefiting from the same grace that I have. It is not the presence that I am giving you when I say take this anointing oil because the presence of God is already with you. God is with you, the oil that you have is just the grace that will work a miracle for you.
Moses said, “I cannot go without your presence”, meaning that he understood the importance of the presence. You being born-again and God dwelling in you, you have the presence of God in you, you need to acknowledge it. It begins with you acknowledging Him, for the presence to work for you.
[Exodus 33:15]
Many of you left your homes without acknowledging the presence of God. Moses never had Christ in him but with us, the dwelling of God is with us — He does not dwell in tabernacles. Moses comes and says that without His presence he cannot go on. Most of us, even if we have His presence, we can go on without acknowledging Him.
The presence is the divine glory of God yet we go on without acknowledging it. Many of you do not realize the presence of God in your daily activities — You still speak with Him as if He is far from you.
You do not know how to worship God and in you not knowing, it makes you not to be a true worshipper. True worshippers worship Him in truth and Spirit. So, they know and acknowledge that the presence of God is with them.
Some of you want God to respond to you the same way He was responding to Moses but you do not acknowledge the presence like he did.
Many Christians are thermometers — They check the temperature but do not [and cannot] change it. When they enter into a room, they are influenced by the atmosphere that the room has. You need to be a thermostat. You must change the temperature or the atmosphere.
When you get into an office and you find that there is no prayer, you must leave the room with prayer. If there were conflicts or gossip but because you are there, there should be peace. When you gossip with your colleagues it means you adjust to the atmosphere instead of changing it.
[Deuteronomy 28:13]
Many of you are followers, you are not what God has made you to be. When you get into a room you become a thermometer and not a thermostat, you adjust to the temperature instead of changing it. Some of you are not supposed to have friends because you are thermometers.
You are influenced and not influencers. Wherever you go you are influenced. Wherever you go you must change the atmosphere. You carry the presence, therefore change the atmosphere. When it is dull when you enter, they must see the light. If people were always sad, it must be you who brings joy. You carry the presence of God. You must affect the atmosphere.
You are an influencer you must change the atmosphere.
People must be happy to be with you unless they are afraid of the Word you carry and not your character. The Word of God without humility is nothing, it has never found its root in you. I say, when you are a Christian you can live with any person, any character. People who know too much are a problem. They glorify their characters.
[Proverbs 18:21]
Most of you are eating the fruit of death because that is what you entertain. You have the presence of God and since you have it, you need to speak [the language of] the presence. Many people are enjoying death.
Wherever you go as a Christian, in any situation you must be able to maintain the temperature of the Spirit. People are angry yet you come with the joy that will influence them. You must maintain the same temperature at all times. Be like an incubator, do not be influenced by the temperature that is outside.
[Mark 4:35-39]
People are influenced by the situation but Jesus still remained the same. He was not a thermometer. Many of you, when there is a difficult situation you panic. Be proactive and not reactive — Do not react to situations. When you are reactive, you do not carry the presence because the presence influences what is outside.
Jesus was not influenced by situations. Whether there was a storm or not He did not react to any situation. Do not react to situations, remain the same. Whatever happens in your life, do not react to it but remain in the presence of God. People must be able to tell you things yet you still remain the same. A storm came and people were panicking yet Jesus was resting in the garden.
[Ephesians 6:12]
People seem to forget this when they are in trouble: that our battle is not physical but spiritual. They react physically to the situation rather than spiritually. When you are a spiritual person and there is a situation, because you know that our battle is not physical there is no need to get emotional but what you need to do is to kneel down and pray.
When I say become a thermostat I am not saying ignore the situation but deal with the source [spiritually]. Jesus rebuked the winds and not the storm (source). Most of us react to the storm forgetting that there is a wind that we need to deal with.
If you concentrate on the storm you will not be able to speak because you will think that the winds cannot hear you because of the storm. So, when you come across a situation, know your place. Go and pray addressing things in the Spirit. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but what is spiritual. Therefore, we know where to go.
[Colossians 3:23]
Whatever you do, do it with your heart because you have the presence of God. When you go to work or school, do it as though you are doing it for the Lord. You have the presence of God wherever you are. Acknowledge and allow it to change the atmosphere. Let everything change in your life. Wherever you go, let people know God through you.
Be a thermostat and not a thermometer. Come with your own temperature and change the atmosphere.
