THE COVENANT OF DAVID – THE TEMPLE OF GOD’

 

[2 Samuel 7:12-18]

“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.”

 

The covenant which was made through Abraham was of blessings and multiplication but the covenant that was made through David was more of the church(father and son relationship). Whenever people needed healing, they would come and say “Son of David”, meaning the covenant of David is a covenant of manifestation of the Spirit. The Kingdom of God is being manifested in us. The Spirit of God working in us.

 

With David, the covenant is of building the house. Without the covenant of David, we do not have a church. We are the church so it means God dwelling in us. When God says that He will build a church, it is a church that He has made by His own hands which is us. You cannot be a temple of God while you are not a seed of David. We are the tree. We are not many trees but a tree. A tree which is Christ Himself.

 

You rejecting correction means that you rejecting to be a temple. Anyone who is born again thinks that only the soul is born again and not their body but the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Our bodies need to be redeemed. We do not wait to go to heaven for our bodies to be redeemed but we get redeemed here on earth. The bible says that your bodies are the temple of God so when you do not take care of your body, you are tampering with the temple of the Holy Spirit. Your body is the temple that the Spirit must dwell in.

 

The Kingdom will be established and known through the world through us because we are the temple. The Holy Spirit dominates in us. Many have rejected correction thinking that where there is correction, their situations are dealt with; not knowing that we are dealing with the temple. It is the temple that is dealt with. When you reject correction you are affecting the temple.

 

There is a ministry in every one of us despite what we are doing. It is God serving Himself through us. When you usher, it is God serving Himself in us. He cannot serve Himself as long as there is someone in control. We are corrected so that the one who wants to be in control may not be in control except Christ Himself.

 

The Bible expects us to become as He is. When the Spirit prays, God must hear you praying. We must reach the standard where there is no difference between us and when is Jesus praying. That is what the covenant of David is all about. In us praying, God must still hear Jesus. The division is the absence of faith. Where there is faith, there is unity. The minute there is division, there is no faith so faith is the evidence of unity. When we pray, we pray in the same faith. When Jesus said that even when you have faith as small as a mustard seed, He was not saying that everyone must have their own faith but one faith.

 

In the ministry of faith, many things were defeated. In us, there must be faith that was in Abraham and David, not any other faith. We are still holding on to the faith that was there in the beginning. Faith is transferrable. Their faith had to continue operating in us. When it continues operating in us, that is when we can speak about the fulfillment of the promise. Faith builds the temple. When He perfects, He does not destroy what the prophets began but He perfects it to finish it.

 

Abraham is the father of faith but he came to existence after Abel hence God says that before Abraham, I Am. Abraham is the physical presentation of what is in the Spirit. When we see Abraham, we see a father.

 

Abraham slept with Hagar and there was no correction but David sleeps with someone, Samuel had to go and correct him. Through David, you cannot be a temple and there is no correction. You cannot be a temple of the Holy Spirit and there is no correction. You reject correction, you reject the Holy Spirit.

 

Mercy does not depart because he accepts correction. When you reject correction, you do not get mercy. Correction is the one that brings mercy and grace. We are born of the covenant of David.

 

[Isaiah 11:1-3]

 

A rod is for correction and direction. If we say we are the temple, it means we are corrected and disciplined. That is why it says that sons rejoice in correction. We rejoice because it is a sign that we are the sons of God. We are the sons of David. Seven means one. It means complete [perfected]. It means perfect Spirit. The Spirit does not rest where there is no temple. We are the temple. Every time God speaks about a tree, He speaks about correction.

 

[John 15:1-2]

“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

 

When we correct, we remove what is wrong and leave what is right. When it says that a tree does not bear fruits, it does not mean it does not bear any fruits at all but it bears fruits of the flesh. If a tree bears the fruits of the flesh, it must be cut off. People want the anointing of David but not the correction that David had.

 

You cannot be a worshiper and not be a tree. Every tree that does not bear any fruit must be cut off. As long as you are a tree, every branch which does not bear any fruit must be cut off. Some things need to be cut off therefore expect that because you are of the covenant of David.

 

Do not say that you are a temple yet you reject correction. For you to bear good fruits, you need to be corrected. It is not only branches that do not bear fruits that we cut off but even good branches are cut off so that they can bear sweet fruits. Trees need to be pruned. We do not cut branches only when they are not good but even if they are good.

 

We become pruned for what is not good. Everyone can go and do whatever because to them it is not sin but I might be prevented from doing what they do. You cannot tempt with glory. Anything that takes the glory of God away, do not touch it. David’s covenant is not only a blessing but it goes deeper. You are a temple.

 

The Spirit in you is the one that is at work. It is the Spirit that tells you to pray and read the Word. It is the one that leads you personally. It is not in general but it is for you. God speaks to you. When you have such Spirit, you do not only separate from goats but you also separate from sheep. There are some sheep that you need to separate from them because they are sheep with a heart of a wolf. You are the temple.

 

A temple is not for everyone. Not everyone goes to the temple. That is why the bible says that in the Holy of holies only the high priests would enter. We have a priest and a high priest. Everyone who has a relationship with you cannot enter as long as they do not have the stature of Christ. Everyone with genealogy will contaminate you. Unless you are born of water and Spirit, you cannot enter.

 

There are different kinds of Christians. There are those who see the Kingdom and those who have entered; do not have a relationship with those who are not in the Kingdom. Those who see the Kingdom can speak about Kingdom. Do not be fooled by knowledge. Knowledge does not mean you have. Knowing the Kingdom does not mean you are in it.

 

When you are in the Kingdom you are segregated. You must lead a quiet life. Those who are in the Kingdom, you will see them by their dees. Those who see the Kingdom are the ones who utter without wisdom. When you are in the Kingdom, the Holy Spirit must speak. You do not go with what is trending but the Spirit tells you what to speak.

 

To see that a person does not have the Holy Spirit, you see knowledge but you do not see wisdom. Where the Holy Spirit is, there is all. Correction enables the Spirit to settle in you and in all that we see, we see all. We see the Spirit working in you perfectly so. Knowledge puffs up. It will make you shine when it is not time. Knowledge will make us see you and not Christ.

 

[Revelation 22:15-19]

 

Those who are outside the Kingdom are dogs. Anyone without correction is a dog(bastard) because they do not have a Father, they do not have the correction. Where there is a Father, there is correction and a rod. The minute it says that sexual immoral, it means that they suffer from any kind of sexual sin. These are those who are outside.

 

He is the Bright Morning Star because He is the Root of David. Because we are born of him, we are born of that Kingdom. We are not dogs. Being outside does not mean that they do not know the Kingdom. They have the knowledge. We have so many Christians in the world but they live their lives as they like. They live like they are not the temple of the Holy Spirit. When you are an outsider, the Holy Spirit cannot possess you but can touch you.

 

Vision does not determine the relationship you have with the father. Having visions does not mean you are fathered. We speak about David, we speak about the relationship with the father and the temple. They live according to the heart of God. When they are corrected, they do not get puffed up but they humble themselves, forget who they are and throw themselves at the ground, and say ‘I have sinned’ and God is able to raise them. God dwells in them.

 

[1 Kings 11:10-16]

 

A statute is a way of living. Those who are disobedient are still left with something. They do not know that the Kingdom is taken away from them. That is why those who have fallen still think that they are walking with God. They still see visions and all other things but the Kingdom is no longer with them.

 

Solomon went to other gods and that is why he was rejected. By so doing, the Kingdom was taken away from him. It is the Father who can see that you have fallen. When the Kingdom of God is stripped away from you, you do not feel it. You feel like everything is fine. Buildings that are called temples are not all temples of the Holy Spirit. You will remain with the word temple but having your own idol and Jesus not being there.

 

With the covenant of David, you see how God requires us to live. Where there is no perfect Will of God but the permissible will, things never work out. David had a wife and slept with Bathsheba and after he killed the husband. They lost the baby and after losing the baby they got married and had a baby called Solomon. What happened with Solomon was a disaster. That is permissible will. As long as it is a permissible will, the perfect Will of God can never come out of it.

 

No matter how much David tried to make it better, through Solomon there was disobedience and rejection because in the beginning the seed that was supposed to be blessed was not supposed to be through Bathsheba. Never expect the perfect Will of God out of the permissible will. Permissible will means that it has your hand. Where God works it must be Him alone and no one else. The minute there is a touch of you, there is might and power and not the Spirit. God does not want your fingerprint.

 

In the times of Solomon, there was a time everything was glorious. It looked so beautiful to the point it was like Solomon was walking with God. Solomon built the temple but God came and said that the temple is not the one because it was the permissible will. What is of God is eternal.

 

It is not only Solomon who is rejected but even his seed is rejected. Do not temper with the lineage. Do the Will of God. Be in the perfect Will of God. The minute you do things in your way, you are tempering with the lineage and God cannot do anything. He will take it out even from the son. You will feel like you have it but not having it.

 

[Romans 1:1-4]

 

Your body matters. This is the body where the Spirit dwells. How you take care of this body shows how you are taking of the Holy Spirit. When you do not take care of the body, you neglect God. Whenever you eat, you must make sure that you eat the body of Christ. You eat anything that is not the body of Christ, it affects the temple. When you eat not seeing Christ on the table, you have fed your body with what does not belong to the temple.

 

You cannot take the body of Christ and put it where you do not have to. It has to go to the temple. Some people eat because they are hungry. They have channeled their stomach for hunger and not for the Will of God. When you are channeled by the Will of God, even when you have not eaten, you do not see any difference. We no longer call it a stomach but we call it a belly because out of the belly shall flow rivers of life. Nourish your body with the Word. Give your body the Word.
