“SILENT FAITH, QUIET SPIRIT”
September 9, 2021
“OBEY IN THE DAY”
September 21, 2021In times of distress, learn to have silent faith. The Israelites were a nation loved and favoured as we are, that is why we are called the Israelites but let us not be found to be like them. The Israelites always complained. You may interpret their complaints as faith, but it is not faith. The Bible says that we should pray and be led by the Spirit. The Israelites were led by the flesh. Do not allow the flesh to lead you. Whatever you do, do it by the Spirit, moved by the Spirit, and hearing God.
There are people in the Bible speaking to God and their prayers being answered. The way miracles were performed was not in a godly way. God was pushed into a corner and we as Christians should not put God in a corner. Our relationship with God is of a Father and son, not of provision or whatsoever but love. Our relationship with God is different from the one He has with angels. In the eyes of God, we are more important than angels. You may have a wife only to find out that she is your servant, she is obliged to do dishes and laundry.
Our relationship with God should not be like that. Prisoners do not have a God but a Father. Our relationship with God weighs more than anything. It is important to know how you value your relationship with God. God says that you are engraved in His hand. You are one with Him. God does not want a relationship where He renders services to you, but He wants to take care of you instead of supplying for you. We are not in a bartering relationship with God but we are one with Him. We are one Spirit. Our souls are yielded in His heart continually.
The Israelites continually demanded from God because the relationship they had was not of a Father and a son. They were rendering services to each other. It is either you can be in the right standing with God or you are used as His puppet. When you do not have a personal relationship with God, you will be His puppet in His Kingdom. He will use you to teach His sons. You need to be careful. You may think you are using God only to find out that God is using you. That is why it says that all these things will fade away but what will remain is love. It is easy to have hope and faith without having love. You can have faith and hope where you see miracles, but you do not have a relationship with God.
When you are in love, any form of love is meant to be tested. Your love for God will be tested. Some went through situations that could have caused you to shift but you are still standing because the love you have for God, is the one that sustains you. The problem with people is that they know too much, they compare. You compare your relationship with God, you cannot know whether it is genuine or not until the end. Do not open the door of testing. Many people got born again but they were not sustained. The intake is not the problem, but the problem is that we lack fathers. David says that Your rod comforts me, the rod is for correction. It is the Shepherd that can lead you to greener pastures. The evangelist leads you to the Shepherd, but it is up to you whether you remain with the Shepherd or not.
There were thousands of disciples but when He wanted oneness, they flee. You cannot eat the flesh that does not have wounds. The minute He says that “eat My flesh, this flesh has stripes”. You cannot eat this flesh without feeling the pain. When you feel the pain and you reject it, you have rejected oneness. For you to be one with Him, you must reach His standard, where He left everything. Jesus has given everything up. For you to be one with Him, you need to sacrifice. A sacrifice is something that is close to your heart. There is something that you need to give up. There is no relationship if there is no compromising. There are things that you will get but not everything. It is easy for someone to say I have given up clothes that do not fit them anymore.
Many of us count our sacrifices which are not close to our hearts. Oneness spoken is easy but when it needs to be demonstrated, it is not easy.
There is a time where God puts the shepherd in a place where there are no greener pastures so that we may see if the sheep is there for greener pastures or the rod. If you are for greener pastures, you will never be sustained. Do not be like the Israelites. They needed to go out of Egypt and when a sacrifice was needed, they started to complain. The only thing to be measured is love.
Do not look at the sacrifice because the minute you look at it you will want to take it back. Many of you are looking at your sacrifice and that is why you are taking it back. Let go of that desire. Sacrifice is what makes you happy.
What God requires from us is bigger than us. With our own strength, we will not be able to do it. It needs total surrender. Surrender everything for God to take you through the journey He wants to take you. Our sacrifices are not the same. There are times where God will touch what is in our hearts. When we are close to experiencing what is in the Kingdom, you will need to let go of what you love. Most of you do not know what God requires from you. Learn to surrender everything. The prayer of complaints and worry is the sign of us not being able to sacrifice. When we receive or get it, it is hard for us to sacrifice. The problem is not that you cannot handle but you cannot give it up. Some of you God is still not giving you because it will be hard for you to give it up. Whatever is a threat to a relationship you have with God is not worth receiving.
[Exodus 5:1-11]
When trouble came, Israelites instead of having a silent faith were complaining. There are times in Christianity when you take the ways of the Lord, it will be harder for you but yet you need to have silent faith. It was the nature of the Israelites that when things do not go their way, they complain. Moses said to Israelites that God wants to save them, but they went through hard times. It is not every time that all things go smoothly. Never see the struggle because of the peace you have. Sleep the way Jesus slept in the boat. You are counting years because you are looking at the storm and not sleeping. Having silent faith does not mean you do not have faith.
Sometimes we compare ourselves with people who are not on our race. You must run your race and stop complaining. When we come before you, we do not expose our wounds. We have wounds that tell a story. You see the resurrected Christ, but you do not see the crucified one. Run your own race at your own pace and stop complaining.
[Exodus 14:10-20]
Today we sit and celebrate the sea that separated for them to walk on the ground, but it was not faith that opened the red sea, it was complaints. Sometimes we complain even where we are supposed to have faith. Instead of exercising faith, we complain. Even though we see miracles, but you will not see Canaan. People have been complaining instead of exercising faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. There is no way you can be misled when you have faith because it comes from the Word of God. They complained because they lacked faith.
[Exodus 15:22-27]
When we meet trouble, we conclude that it is impossible. When we fail, we conclude that it is over and start complaining. We conclude that it is over but God says that nothing is impossible with Him. We have the Word that is speaking from the Bible which is an active sword. We never give up. Some were not supposed to be in hell, but they gave up. When they saw fire, they concluded. When people see something bigger than them, they conclude that it is over.
[Exodus 16:1-6]
These guys kept on complaining and still God answered them. Check yourself whether is God responding to your faith or complain. The ones that complain do not have a Father, but they have God-like any other person.
