“WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?”

There is nothing depressing to a minister like teaching a church that lacks faith. When people grow Spiritually and have too much knowledge they then start not believing in the unseen. The minister can be anointed however if he preaches to a faithless church, the anointing becomes useless. For one to be able to receive from an anointing such a person should have faith. Most churches when they started, started well being Spiritual but later on, they became religious, when we mature we stop having faith, too much knowledge result in a lack of faith.

Many receive so much more compared to a Spiritual matured believer because those who are matured know too much. When Jesus spoke in a parable regarding small children and said “those who are like these children”, meaning there is a certain characteristic we must have that children have.

Imitating or being like children, is not only a matter of humbleness or age. Wisdom and being too wise can make one not have faith. There is wisdom as a Spirit, Wisdom as knowledge, and Wisdom as a habit. There are certain instructions we receive from the Holy Spirit and also then there are times we do not receive any instructions from the Holy Spirit but yet we continue to apply our own wisdom.

Most Christians believe in God for money, when they hear God instructing them that He is taking them through a season of dryness and it is in the Will, even when God takes such a person out of the season, they continue to practice maturity and not confess and declare the money. However seeing God in all bad situations does not mean it is Spiritual, the problem is people mostly know what the voice of God has previously instructed them and not the Voice of God itself.

Faith comes by hearing and there is a reason why it comes by hearing, it does not come from knowledge and experiences. Meaning there should always be an instruction, God will always speak. Churches are full of people who lack faith, and such people reason that there is no anointing in the Church while they are the ones who lack faith.

Often people are so good with rectifying the Pastor and not themselves. We should never be comfortable with applying wisdom rather than the voice of God, many are so used to the bread rather than the Word which proceeds from His mouth. What Jesus said was so profound, that man cannot live on bread alone but by the Word which proceeds out of the mouth of God(See Matthew 4:4).

We tend to live on the bread already given and eaten and forsake the Word which proceeds out of His mouth. Maturity is not there to deal with your faith nor to harm your faith, however, it is there to enhance your faith. We measure maturing by how well we are able to hear God, maturity is not the ability to administer things because it is possible to administer without hearing God.

There is a certain stage Christians grow into and they lose faith. It is not only an offense that switches off miracles but also a lack of faith. It is useless to go to church without faith. Faith is a weapon that every Christian should have. God expected faith from an unbeliever therefore what more from a believer.

Jesus did not heal everyone who was sick or everyone who was blind, there were people who were seated around the pool of Bathsheba and Jesus only healed those who had faith (See John 5), even Jesus’s anointing required faith. On many occasions, Jesus continually said “Your Faith”. In Luke 8 when Jesus calmed the wind, He asked the disciples “Where is your faith?”

But He asked them “Where is your faith?” Meaning it is possible for one to be in the right position and lack faith. The disciples were with the right person and yet lacked faith.  The disciples did not have to wake Jesus up in the boat, if they had faith Jesus would have performed in His sleep. Many Christians are in the right church but yet they lack faith, most times we ought to have our own faith as believers.

Our faith activates the anointing, it is possible for one to touch the garment couple of times and yet without power leaving the garment due to lack of faith. The woman touched the very same garment and power left the garment and she received healing because she had faith (See Mark 5:25).

Maturity and experiences have eaten up some people’s faith. We are able to sustain our faith by continually being in the Word. The Word carries the promises, it is impossible to be a Christian without the promises of God or knowing His promises. The Word does not only carry rebuke and corrections but it carries the blessings and promises of God.

The book of Matthew 28 installs faith, both on the Minister and followers. We must always come before God expecting. It is about time that one receives their breakthrough by just being in the presence of a minister without the laying of hands. It is useless for a believer to come before an anointing without faith.

Then He touched their eyes and said “According to your faith let it be done to you”, many Christians do not realize that they receive according to their faith. Jesus responds to faith and not our problems. The possessions and things we have attained are according to our faith, besides being tested. Nonetheless, even when we are tested we should still have faith, also disbelieving is often the reason we are tested.

[Mark 5:34]

Then He said to her “Daughter your faith has made you well” it was not His Anointing that made her well, it was her faith. Hearing the Word, our faith digest the Word we have received. Hence the Word must be preached for us to attain faith. God responds to faith and not because of sympathy.
