HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS!

[Exodus 3:1- 3 ]

Moses was tending the flock and he saw a burning bush yet it was not consumed. In amazement, he turned and went to look at this great sight. When he went there, he heard the voice of the Lord and God started to speak to him.

[Numbers 22: 28 – 29 ]

Balaam wanted to go where God did not want him to go. And the donkey didn’t want to go as it was compelled by the presence of the Lord. God started speaking through the donkey.

Today, I want to make you aware of something. There are many scriptures that I could have read in the old testament to show you that God appeared to men using different things. When He wanted to speak to Moses, He appeared as a burning bush. When He wanted to speak to Balaam, He appeared through a donkey. Yet we also know about other men, for instance, Abraham; he appeared as three men. When He wanted to speak to Joseph, He appeared through dreams.

We know that God can appear as anything when He wants to speak to men. God can use anything just to convey His message. Hence I am here today because God wants to speak to you. The way He appeared to Moses and Balaam, God can appear as anything. In the Bible, we hear about other men who encountered God in the form of lightning.

If you can ask Paul about God he will tell you about lightning because that is how He appeared to him. Peter will tell you how he encountered Jesus. For God to appear to Peter He had to come as a fisherman to convict Peter. That is how God is, when God looks for you, He can appear as anything just to speak to you.

Some men saw Him in dreams and some under the tree. Some men saw God through a burning bush and a donkey. When you speak about a woman(Hagar) who was chased by Abraham with a son in the desert, God had to appear as a water technician (expert) and give Ishmael water. Today I want to tell you something, God wants to appear to you. He will not appear in many forms but in one form.

[Hebrews 1: 2]

“but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom also He made the universe.”

I am not denying that you know and belong to God. I am not denying that you have been taught about God and the way you know Him, He appeared according to your tradition. Or He appeared to you according to the way you were taught in school, or the way you were taught by your forefathers.

But in the book of (Hebrews 1) God makes us aware of something, that as men are seeking God, He made a choice. He wants to appear in the last few days, but when He does, it won’t be in any form.

When God wanted to appear to all men, He had to appear through His Son. When God wanted to appear as a burning bush, it was only for Moses. When He wanted to appear in Balaam, He appeared through a donkey. When He wanted to appear as lightning, it was only for Paul. Even the people who were with Paul could not understand what was happening.

Now when God wanted to appear to all men and speak to the world, He had to appear through His Son for He was the perfect image. Jesus walked with the disciples for three years and told them that He had to go. He ate, slept, and did many things with them. They didn’t want to be apart from Him. Jesus told them that the son of man will be taken away. He said that it was beneficial that He goes. The world will look for Him but will not find Him.

They did not understand what He was saying. Even when He died on the cross, it was His perfect plan. That is why the book of Corinthians, says if they knew that He was the Lord they wouldn’t have crucified Him. They didn’t know that in trying to stop Him, they were causing Him to be known even more. When He resurrected He appeared to many yet perfection was not there. He was not yet in their hearts. He appears to show them that He is alive and walked among them for forty days. He ascended and gave them a message, that they must not go and preach until they receive power.

He told them to go wait in Jerusalem because they will receive something special. When I am here it is beneficial for you, but when I ascend to the Father, He will give you something because you believe in Me. When you receive this, you can go throughout the world and become my witnesses. In the book of Acts, it says, while they were sitting in one accord thinking about how Jesus ascended. As they were praying a tongue of fire rested upon them and something amazing was happening to them. They were no longer timid as they were before but now they received boldness because Jesus translated Himself from the physical to the spiritual. He came and dwelt in them. We are here not because we are empty, but because we are full of someone.

We received someone and He is in our hearts. With the naked eye, you cannot see Him but with the spiritual eye, you can. When Jesus appeared to them it was a personal thing and it is no longer like before. They are no longer speaking like they did before but the language has changed. From saying “In the beginning, there was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was Him”, to now saying that; ‘we have seen Him, we have touched Him.”When He comes in you the language changes and the way you perceive changes.

You may think you know God but wait until He comes in you. Wait until the Son comes into your heart and see the way you will know Him. We are all people of God yet we do not know Him the same way. Someone needs to have a personal relationship with Him. He must come and dwell with you that when things trouble you at night you can pray. The veil has to be torn to fulfill what He said to the Samaritan woman. That some of you pray in the mountain, and some in temples, but a time has come where you will worship the Father in truth and Spirit. Wherever you are you can pray to Jesus because He is in you. Receive Him and have a personal relationship with Him so that wherever you are you can start speaking about Jesus.

I know you have been praying yet you cannot feel Him, you do not have confidence. But wait for tonight something will change and Jesus is going to come in you. When you pray you will feel His hand upon you. Jesus wants a personal relationship with you. He wants to enter into your home with you and wants to go with you. This God does not have a place where you can go to Him but He is in your heart. He is there with you as He said that He will never leave you nor forsake you. You need Jesus! Sometimes consulting a Pastor takes time or you do not have airtime to call but when you have Jesus in you He will respond at that instant.

There are some situations, there is no time to call another person. When you have a personal relationship with Jesus, He says that ‘call unto Me and I will answer you’. Shout Jesus! Call upon the Lord. Wherever you are, call upon Jesus because He is here and is ready to occupy your heart. When you receive Jesus it starts to become somehow, your language changes. You no longer say that He is your God but now He becomes your Father. The Bible says that those who believe in Him, are no longer born of flesh and blood. They do not owe any rights or obligations to the flesh.

Today it is time you have a relationship with Jesus. Calling Jesus is faster than calling 10111. When you call Him, He is already there. People don’t realize that we are all people of God, yet we are not all children of God. When you receive Jesus you become a child of God. Before Nathaniel met Jesus, he was at the fig tree. When Philip called him and came near Jesus, He said to him that He saw him while he was sitting under the tree. God saw you just as He saw Nathaniel.

God must not just see you but He must be with you. God saw Nathaniel yet He was not with Him. It takes a relationship with Jesus for you to be with Him. God sees all the troubles you have. Jesus can see all that is happening with you but what matters is whether He is with you or not. It’s not enough when God sees it. For when God sees He can’t intervene as opposed to when He walks with you.

You just walk with Jesus and have a relationship with Him. That is why He says you must call unto Him. God appeared to us through His Son. Jesus is going to appear to you. God loves you. Jesus wants your heart. Don’t you know that your heart is a room that belongs to Jesus? Jesus is here and died for you at the cross to have a relationship with you. There is nothing He wants except your heart.

Jesus wants to come into your life and have a relationship with you. The Son of God is here to wash you and make you a new person. We are going to call upon the name of Jesus and He will come. Your heart will be occupied. He will change anything that is of darkness and it will go away.
