LET GO OF ANGER, YOU NEED TO FORGIVE

GOD HONOURS THE COVERING
August 9, 2022In every Christian’s life there is a dream, everyone has a dream and want to see themselves reaching their destiny. For you to reach your destiny there are three things you need to encounter and go through, firstly the pit, then accusation and lastly jail (proven guilty). God was saying to me that every Christian need to go through this. Joseph had a dream and told his brothers, this was part of the journey and he had to go through what he went through.
[Genesis 37:23-24]
Everything that happened to Joseph was inspired by the dream. In him having the dream every event that took place until the fulfilment was inspired by the dream. He was destined to go through what he went through because of where God was taking him. He had the dream and his brothers betrayed him. God allowed his brothers to be jealous but it doesn’t make them correct. God allowed the devil to take advantage of the weaknesses they had. If you do not deal with your weaknesses you will find yourself in a place where the devil takes advantage of your weaknesses. Jesus was going to be crucified but there was no need for Judas to sell Him. Jesus was going to die either way, but because Judas had a weakness in him he became a casualty in what God wanted to do. The devil took advantage, the Will was for Jesus to die on the cross not that Judas should sell Jesus.
Joseph was going to go to the pit either way because of destiny, but because his brothers were jealous of him the devil took advantage of what was in their hearts. When they sold him he went to the pit. Prophetically before you go to the pit you need to lose everything. Every Christian need to go to the stage where they are stripped off. For you to get to your destiny God needs to strip you off what he has given you. Prophetically Joseph’s garment was taken away, this is where we see a Christian becoming powerless. This is where you find that what defined your relationship with the father is stripped away. The thing is that you cannot go to the pit with the garment. The pit is the place where you are humbled, at some point as a believer you need to be humbled. This is your lowest moment where you become nothing.
The pit takes you under the normal circumstances. You can’t be humbled while you still have the garment, there is a point in your life where it seems like worship, prayer or whatever you deem as your strength in the journey of salvation seems like it is not working. There is a time as a Christian you have to be stripped off things that make you feel good. The destiny is bigger than the garment. You might think that you have got it, yet God says that is nothing. The destiny is bigger than what we become content with. There are some things when you have them you feel like you are in the right track. Imagine, Jesus walked on earth with power only for it to be stripped off at the cross, just so He may get it back after resurrection. No matter how much God was using Him, He needed not to cling on what was happening; do not get used to the atmosphere.
I know when you go to church you become happy but do not get used to that. Get used to the Father and cling to Him. Be in love with the Father. Sometimes even people that we trust need to be stripped off from us. Some of you your destinies are so much bigger that casualties are not a problem to God. God can’t take Joseph to his destiny with his brothers, because they need to come and submit to him. They had to be collateral damage, their weaknesses had to take over so that they may strip off the garment. It is okay when your brother takes away the joy from the church, it is okay when those you trusted betray you. It is your destiny to go to the pit. It is okay to be stripped off by the one you love and trust in.
A garment needed to be taken away, what he bragged about needed to be stripped off. It is not only weaknesses that God will deal with but even good things. There are some branches that need to be sacrificed for a bigger purpose. (Verse 24), the thing about the pit is that it isolates you, that’s where you become sober and the only thing that makes sense is the Lord. The pit will always make you look up, and look through things that seem normal. When Joseph went out of the pit things didn’t become better, his brothers sold him and he became a slave.
[Genesis 39:4-20]
After the pit you will still get blessed. God will promote you bit by bit. In your life as a Christian from a point of being humbled God will start to bless you while you are headed to your destiny. (Verse 7), many Christians when it comes to Potiphar’s wife that is where they fail, they are not faithful like Joseph. Joseph was given everything except a wife, and this became his biggest test. She kept on begging and tempting. Joseph didn’t run immediately, why? He had a weakness and was close to falling. It was a battle within him, and every time the woman told him to come he had to think deeply about it. He is not different from the generation we are living in. He was faced with a challenge that was equal to him.
(Verse 11), after many times and days of being tempted, Potiphar’s wife took it to another level. The second step is accusation. As a Christian you will be faced with accusations. Joseph didn’t run away from Potiphar but from Potiphar’s wife. He didn’t run from where God placed him. Do not leave your position no matter the circumstances. When the accusations come you must know who you are, not how you want people to look at you. Many leave their positions because of what people say. Joseph had a right to be angry and prove himself right. People who display or manifest the opposite of such do not get to their destinies. The test of Joseph wanting to prove himself is a test of the future. In him not being angry or offended he was passing the test.
(Verse 17), Potiphar was a governor, he was respected in Egypt. When Joseph was taken to court, he became Isaiah 53, he never defended himself. He became like Jesus. There was no need for Joseph to defend himself, the pit taught him well. When you have been to the pit, it doesn’t matter how people look at you because you have been through the lowest. What makes people want to prove themselves right is the pride they have, hence a person feels a need to tell their side of story. With Christians there is no two sides to a story because it is only the Will of the Father that matters.
(Verse 20), this is the last thing you will have to go through before your destiny – the jail. Where you think God will justify him because he didn’t defend himself he get a guilty verdict. God is not interested in the small battles because He is looking at your destiny. It is human nature that when you are accused you want a public correction. God is not interested in that because He is looking at where you are going. Look at ministers who were out in newspapers with wrong accusations, there was no public apology for them. When Jesus resurrects He doesn’t waste His time and appear to the Pharisees and Pilate. There was no need for Him to prove that He is alive to them instead He went to His own. There was no need for Him to prove Himself right.
Joseph didn’t have the opportunity to sit down with Potiphar to hear him say I am sorry. He was accused and taken to jail even when he didn’t defend himself. The advocate that is the Holy Spirit is not the same as human advocates. The Holy Spirit is an advocate in silence while preparing your destiny. Joseph was in jail meaning he was guilty. You will find yourself being guilty of things you did and didn’t do. When Joseph was in jail he began to interpret the dream and was taken out to become a vice president. Joseph was above Potiphar and he had authority to prove himself right, instead he looked at what God had for him. He could have used the position to address and expose Potiphar’s wife but he didn’t do that.
Before God can place you there He will check whether you will take advantage of your authority. People have been disqualified from the positions God want to place them in because of how they become unfaithful. Sometimes we think it’s the devil tempting us while it is God testing you. You are given what you think matures you and you fail the test. After the pit, accusation and jail he didn’t prove himself right. The test was not over, it was continuous because God brought his brothers too. Never make a mistake, whatever you do as a Christian know that God is testing and strengthening your relationship with Him. His brothers came and he ate with them without bringing up the issue of the pit. Joseph needed Potiphar’s wife and his brothers to get the position.
Joseph mastered the pit he was thrown in by his brothers, so when he was jailed it was nothing to him. You will have to go through these three things which prepare you for your destiny. Learn in the pit, accusation and jail. As you are in your lowest moment learn, because you will need what you have learnt where God is taking you. Do not give God pressure. Allow God to do it at His own pace. Some of you fear age more than the Will. Never be in a hurry for anything, do not jump your way through to the palace without going through the pit, accusation and jail. The Father has a right to delay you, there are things you will miss as a son because the Father didn’t allow you.
