The Lord Jesus is the rainbow, remember the bible says in the book of [Genesis 7&8] God destroyed the earth and human beings with the floods, and after that He gave Noah a covenant saying that the rainbow shall be a sign that He will not destroy the earth with water again. A rainbow has seven colours – meaning seven gifts. And God said to Noah that it is a sign that He will never destroy the world again with water.
The bibles says in the book of [Isaiah 7:10], “Ask for a sign…”, but to Noah a sign was given, this sign appeared as a rainbow to Noah but to Isaiah, it appeared as Jesus, so a sign is Jesus not Christ. He is not the Spirit but the flesh, a garment of Christ. This sign given was not a perfect sign because Jesus had to die on the cross.
[Genesis 37:9], “But Joseph dreamed still another dream, and told it to his brothers [as well]. He said, “See here, I have again dreamed a dream, and lo, [this time I saw] eleven stars and the sun and the moon bowed down [in respect] to me!” He saw the stars, moon and the sun bowing down to him – the sun is the Father Jacob, the moon is his mother and the stars are his brothers. But this is about his Father Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. The Father of Israel. When we hear of the son, the moon and stars, know that it is a reference to Israel.
[Revelation 12] says, “And a great sign [warning of an ominous and frightening future event] appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon beneath her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.” Prophetically, Joseph was a shadow of Jesus, for Israel is the one who will bow down to Jesus.
The brothers were sent in the field, wanting to kill Joseph because he was the one who was going to be in charge of everything that belongs to God, so they conspired just as Jesus when He was born many wanted to kill Him. Brothers agreed to one another to strip him off his garment. He was the child of a woman who Jacob loved, and because the Father also loved him more than his brothers, he made that garment. [Hebrews 10:5], says that you prepared a body for me – meaning Joseph was like Christ before – the Spirit without the body, but God had to prepare a garment for Him.
Therefore, while they desired to kill Joseph, they could not kill Christ. They agreed to take Him, strip Him off His garment; put blood on it and sell Him. And then give the garment to their Father, so as for him to think that Joseph was eaten by beasts.
Last time I said that we have five folds ministries, and these are not gifts because gifts are not seven but many of them. The gift of healing, singing etc. However, the main gifts are: Teacher, Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, and Pastor. I taught about another gift and said that it is Anointing. And the last one is the Spirit of man. All these are gifts. God had to prepare a garment with all of them upon Christ – Joseph, however, being sent to check for his brothers where the Father had sent them.
They stripped all of the gifts, but unaware that when they stripped him, they were taking all gifts. Therefore, the time for gifts was taken away because all along it was the garment that made them to have anger that is why they wanted to kill Him.
[Hebrews 10:5], “…he prepared a body for me.” A garment for me – gifts for me. When the Lord Jesus was born, He became the most gifted man ever – all gifts were upon Him. He was the first man who had all gifts upon Him, but never operated with them because every time when He spoke, He would say, “I do what I saw my Father doing.”
Let us look at the bigger picture here, Jesus did not die only for our sins, but He was also dealing with gifts, the only way that the gifts could produce Sons who move by the Spirit, it was to bury them, because the gift of God are without repentance. But anyone can walk with God but cannot repent, if you are a sinner God does not take your gift away.
[Romans 11:29], “ For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].” We have been preaching that let it be by the Spirit, do not operate in gifts – referring to the man of God out there, but even those who are serving use gifts, some of you were born singing before you were even born-again, it is a gift, but this gift needs to be buried because it can prevent you from seeing the face of God.
You will operate but cannot see the face of God, so gifts can limit you, remember when the glory came down after Solomon prayed in the temple, the priest could not minister because they were with gifts. They could not enter into the Glory, they wanted to operate with gifts.
This is what has happened to many of those who were in the Old Testament. God gave them gifts, but as time went on they started being disobedient and stop walking with God. When the Spirit left the temple, the High Priest did not stop being priests. When the tabernacle was taken away, Israel was going to Babylon. When they came back, they rebuild the temple, but the tabernacle was not there. People will go every year to sacrifice, but God was not there – there were gifts operating.
God calls Jeremiah – he was supposed to be a Priest like his father, offering sacrifices. When you are a Priest, you are not allowed to prophesy. Therefore, Jeremiah was at training while he was supposed to sacrifice, suddenly the Spirit was upon him and he started to prophesy, he could not operate in his gift as a Priest, however, he could operate as a prophet because of how God has chosen for him. It was the Spirit of God speaking in him.
Therefore, get this! The presence of God can leave you but yet the gift operate, that is why I said, do not do it by the flesh, when it is a gift, you will continue clapping hands.
Do not be caught up in what you are doing and forget the presence of God, be mindful of His presence. When you serve you must do it in reverence, everything that you do, do it with reverence. Do not get used to the presence because you can turn your experience to a gift. As you learn, you attain and then it becomes a gift. And you start to get used to the presence of God.
The Lord Jesus had to deal with this. I said, ‘it is seven gifts’, but that is not all, there were other many gifts; when you read the book of [Romans] you find enlisted; The gift of performing miracles, and many when they saw that they are doing well, they will start to think that they are of God. Look at the Sons of Eli, because the Father was a Priest they also became priest, and slept with woman right in the presence of God.
They had gifts of Priesthood. And God became angry with their Father (Eli), and said unto him, “You have not placed your house in order”, that is why God then, had to choose Samuel. And Samuel was not chosen as a Priest but as a Prophet, so this was not a gift because when you are a true Father, you Father all (every gift), you do not impart gifts. You show them the will of the Father. And when you teach the will of the Father, then the Sons they can operate in everything. The minute you go deeper in the Word of God, you find the roots and God gives you what is fresh.
