‘BE STRENGTHENED ACCORDING TO THE WORD’

 

[Zechariah 4: 1-6]

God does not say it is oil but He says it is His Word. Many, when they are anointed forget the Word. Authority can cause you to forget the one who has given it to you. Position can cause you to ignore the one who has appointed you. You are given the ability when anointed.

Function over obedience is useless. One needs to obey above his abilities. When you obey, there is where God stops things from functioning.

It can be might and power because you feel like you are anointed. You are using the anointing and ignoring Him. He has given you the Word [command]. No matter how much you are gifted, called, anointed, or who you are, you still need to hear the voice and follow. When you do not do that it will be by might and power.

Not by anointing but by the Word that comes from the Lord.

(Verse 7) This is the Word of the Lord to Zerubbabel and not the mountain. Whenever we go through situations we want the Lord to address the situation and not us. Before God can address your situation He needs to address you first – He needs to channel you first. He told him that it is not by might and power because there was might and power.

Zerubbabel was not about to face the mountain, but the mountain was already there.
Even in the midst of that challenge, many when they pray they want God to remove that challenge yet God wants to deal with them as it is still might and power. God will not move your situation while there is still might and power. We try to fix our problems while the Lord is dealing with them. When you go to the Lord you need to go like a person who is ready to obey and not one who is ready to receive a miracle.

When faced with challenges we must be ready to obey what God instructs us. Do not find yourself as a Christian expecting a breakthrough or waiting for something divine to happen.

Sometimes God wants to address you and not your problem. When God has addressed you, what is that problem before you? Some situations will never be moved until they become nothing to you. You are facing that problem because you are still seeing it as a problem.

The mountain will not move but Zerubbabel must not see it as a mountain because the Lord has given him the Word. He addresses Zerubbabel to change how he sees the mountain. Many will still face that mountain as an obstacle but to Zerubbabel it is nothing.

When Paul said he has learned to be content in lack or plenty, it meant that it became nothing to him. I am here to tell you that as a Christian if your problem still challenges you, you will still go through it.

While the cross still challenges you, you will still go through it. When Jesus saw His death as a transition from this place to another, then that is when He conquered. Obedience was above function and ability and because of that, He faced the most difficult situation, yet not by His will but by the Will of the Father. He said that after three days the son of man will rise.
You are speaking more about your death, not resurrection.

You are speaking more about your problem and not your breakthrough. You are speaking about the mountain that is before you and not behind you. You need to speak of that mountain as though it is behind you even though it is before you. While you are still seeing that mountain as an obstacle, then you are looking at something that you are still about to face. Your current situation needs to be nothing so that you can be able to conquer it.

Your problem needs to be nothing to you. Who are you, O great mountain before Zerubbabel? That is how God must trust you because what you do is not by might nor by power. When it is by the Spirit, that situation that you are facing becomes nothing to you. Christianity is not about being immune to trouble, trials, and hardships.

The very same way the world is facing it, so do we although we do not see as the world sees it. Hence in our prayers, we do not ask the Lord ‘why me’. We do not complain. We confess that by His Spirit we are going to conquer.

Why do you need grace or the Spirit if you are not going to face it? We need His love, grace, and favour so that when we face what is hard we may go through it. Why do you need His Spirit if all things will be moved?

[Nehemiah 8: 10]
“Then he said to them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

The mountain is what you are going through that is unpleasant to you. (Verse 10) The joy of the Lord is my strength. It is not by might, nor by power, but it is by the Spirit. This means that His Spirit will give you strength. How will you get on the mountain without strength? You need strength for what you are going through. But the joy of the Lord is your strength. So whether that situation makes you sad, it does not matter. God must be pleased about you. Do not lose your touch even when you go through tough situations.

Do not lose what pleases God in your life. If you lose what pleases God you won’t have the strength to go through it. In troubles that is where people need to be more obedient. Many become disobedient because they are desperate to go out of that situation, for you will end up making wrong decisions. You are not attentive when you are concentrating on how to go out of that situation, but the minute you fix your eyes on the Lord and lay aside every sin that easily entangles you, the Lord will be pleased.

The Lord will strengthen you and you will be able to face tomorrow as it comes and it becomes nothing to you. Now as long as the Lord is not pleased with you, that mountain (in Zechariah 4) becomes everything to you. That mountain will overwhelm you that you cannot overcome it. You overcome your problems when the Lord is pleased with you. Let the joy of the Lord be in you so that you may have strength.

Things are not going well in your life, is the Lord pleased? You are not in that situation because the Lord is not pleased but you are remaining there because you are prolonging your situation. After all, the Lord is not pleased. You do not have the strength to face it. You need to know your source of strength.

Go on your knees, raise your hands and pray, worship and give thanks to the Lord for in that He becomes pleased. The Lord strengthens you to face whatever challenge that may come your way.

The joy of the Lord can never be in you as long you fail to please Him. Most of you are complaining about your problems instead of pleasing the father. You are going through a depression instead of praising Him. You are isolating yourself instead of praising God. The very thing that trouble is sent to do, is what you are doing. Trouble was not created to take your joy away but it was created to bring you closer to God.

Darkness was not created to possess people but was created so that you can know the power of the light. Without darkness, you do not know how important light is. When there is light and you have never experienced darkness, you feel like it is useless and you do not need it.

Wait until you see darkness so you can see the importance of light. Your challenges are not there to destroy you, but there to bring you closer to God.

The joy of the Lord is your strength, in what you are going through. Strength in your sickness, your career as well as your health. Strength when you lose your possessions and when you lose your loved ones.

[Zechariah 4: 4-6]

When you are in trouble and it is not by might, nor by the power the mountain becomes as though it is leveled yet it is not. Your trouble is big because you are looking at it. Stop looking at your trouble and stop focusing on it because that is when it becomes big. Many of you are struggling because you are looking at your problems and you can’t see anything nor hear anything.

There are many people who testify in the church that the Lord has done something in their lives but it is by might and power.

When it is God, it is by the Spirit and whatever it comes with, does not trouble you. Many Christians think that by them telling their spiritual father and asking him to pray for them, they will be prevented from not encountering troubles but it is not like that. They think that when they tell me (Abraham Unknown) what they want to do will guarantee them from not facing challenges. When God is in charge it is by the Spirit. So whatever mountain you come across it becomes nothing to you.

Speaking to the father ensures that all is by the Spirit. However, speaking to your father without obeying what he instructs you to do is useless. Some things will never be moved no matter if you can come to the father. The mountain did not move but He gave Zerubbabel the Word. Do not go to the father with the expectation that things may work out in your way. There are things the father can instruct you to do and they put you in trouble even more.

Imagine doing something without the hand of the father upon you. Now since you spoke to the father there is grace that walks with you. When God speaks to the mountain He does not make Zerubbabel aware. Zerubbabel does not know the mountain that is before him. The Lord just told him that it is not by might, nor by power. So you are not going to go with your strength but it will be by the Spirit.

Look at Zerubbabel, the eyes that he is coming with, it is not his strength and sight but of the Spirit. I gave him My Word so he is not coming with his strength, gift, or anointing but My grace. So wherever he goes he will declare the grace of the Lord. He will look at the mountain and it will become nothing to him because the joy of the Lord is his strength. Grace does not function only when the father declares, it functions even when you just hear it.

[Psalms 119: 28]
“My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your Word.”

The problem is that many want strength but it is not according to His Word. They want the Lord to strengthen them to do things their own way. You do not go to God asking for a love potion in order to marry someone but rather ask God to lead you to the right person.

You eat healthily, you nourish your body. You eat dirt, you get sick. You drink poison, you die. You go and kiss someone that you are not even sure that they are your husband/wife, what do you think is going to happen to you? How many ask to be strengthened according to the way of the Lord?

There is no way that the Lord is going to open other than the one that He has already opened for you. Praying the right prayer is praying that you be strengthened according to His Word.
In my trouble, strengthen me according to Your Word. Many, when they are in trouble they are not paying attention to what God is saying because they are looking at their troubles and how they must go out.

It is high time that even when you have debts you go to God asking that may He strengthen you and let His Will prevail in your life. If need be that you want me to pay off the debt then let it be. The solution is not always debt cancellation.

It is not what God intends for all of us. God’s intention for us is not that debts may be cancelled to all of us, but some He may strengthen them while they have those debts. Do not ignore the strength that He has given you to pay it off because you are still waiting for a cancellation miracle. God has been answering us but many complain because it is not the desired answer.

Pray that you may be strengthened according to His Word. It’s not only angels that can strengthen you. Demons can strengthen you not to drink from the cup. You become amazed where you got the strength to continue dating. You have the wisdom to even hide your relationship.

It can be that when it comes to paying for the activities at church you are broke but when you were in the world you were able to pay for alcohol and do all those things.

Ask yourself who is strengthening you in your weakness. The Lord does not strengthen us in our weakness but His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Many are strengthened in their weakness hence they excel. You even masturbate with angles; a high level of wisdom that even married people never had the pleasure as you do. Ask yourself who is strengthening you. You know sex more than people who are married, who is strengthening you? You excel in wickedness.

Be careful of the spirit that is energizing you. We need strength according to the Word of God and in that, we can never go out of the Will of God. We won’t testify falsely saying the Lord has done this yet it is according to your own strength. There are some situations, things you achieved because it was you and not God.

[Isaiah 41: 8- 10]

God found me while I was troubled far worse. God has taken us from far and we were deep in sin and the world. We were deep in curses and poverty but He took us out. The guarantee that proves God is strengthening you is where He has taken you from. Look at where God took you. Some of you, your families are non-believers. Some of you were about to make wrong decisions and some have already made wrong decisions but look at where God took you from. Isn’t that evidence that God is going to strengthen you?

That is why He says that He has taken us from the far ends, so I have made you my servant; I have chosen you, you need to stop fearing. That is what distinguishes us from unbelievers, the fact that we may face the same situations but we do not fear; the Lord is with us. You are still searching for answers because the answer your father gave you is not sufficient. The solution was given.

At most times when we seek counsel from the Lord we go with an answer yet, we do not mention it. We do not state our opinion. When you have decided you have decided and regardless of what the father is saying. I ensure that no matter what may happen, I do not say that I know my father. He is a Spirit-man hence I would rather be a fool and wait for him than be wise so it can favour me. Even if it might be nothing yet it can be a door that can cause me to look at him in a carnal way, so I keep myself by seeing him as a spiritual man.

When I go to him, I do not always agree with my spiritual father, but in Spirit, I agree with him. I do not allow my disagreement to make me miss what God wants to do in my life. Be strengthened according to God’s Word. Many stumble in small things, for instance, how can the father instruct you to open a church whereas he said it should remain closed and fellowship online? You reason that God has spoken to you. How do you do that?
Do not be too confident in hearing God that it exceeds that of the one whom God has placed as your covering. You will miss the Will of God in simple things.

[2 Corinthians 12: 9]

“And He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

As long as we seek our way, we will not experience God’s strength. A man who always seeks his way and gets it is a man who is without the strength of God. We need to be in a state where we say we do not know when we are before God. We are using the same scripture and teaching to justify our actions. One would use the teachings of the father just to prove that is the reason why he is doing or wants to do something.

Imagine Jesus in Gethsemane praying that God may save Him yet He quotes that it is written in your Word that there is a generation that will not die, and I am of that generation. It has come to a point whereby the way they know the Word of God is more than God. They know the word which is not God; the word that is apart from Him. They have separated the Word of God in a way that they exclaim that ‘the word says’.

Since I wore black yesterday and today I am wearing white, you cannot come and bind me wanting me to wear black because I wore it yesterday. Receive me today as I am. Receive God with what He is giving you, and what He said yesterday, do not bind Him with that. Do not bind God with what He has done. Let God lead you according to His Word. The journey that God has set for you, accept it and you will experience your Canaan.

We are not like the Israelites where we are going to experience the same, Canaan. We are all going to Canaan spiritually but physically we are going in different directions.

[Ephesians 6: 10-11]

Do not be strong in your own knowledge. Many people come with wisdom to God. I have experienced excellence because I chose to be a fool. I do not shine when I am not supposed to. I do not appear as though I am like this yet I am not. I became who the Lord said I should be and He elevated me. What I am saying is true because many are suffering because of the image they are trying to portray. You are suffering because of how you want people to look at you.

[Philippians 4: 11-12]

There is a secret of facing plenty and lack. There is a secret of facing your circumstance. As long there is no secret, you will miss what God is saying. The secret makes you to be content in lack and plenty. Do not change because of your situation. So learn the secret. As I said in the beginning that there are things that will not be moved even though some of you are praying that they be moved.

[Ephesians 2: 12]

For most Christians, it has become evident that Christ has never been their peace because when they face situations, the peace is nowhere to be found. Where is that peace you have been claiming and professing that you have? What kind of peace is it that measures situations? Go do an introspection; if the car, house, qualification, or sense of security you have is your peace, your time is coming where you will be tested.

What you confess needs to be tested, and what you deem to be peace, it will be taken away so you can be exposed in your weakness and you learn to have real peace. There are many things we are hiding saying that it is the peace of the Lord while it is not. Remember it is not for me to see if you have peace or not. God has deposited peace and He knows those who are His, that no matter what they lose they will still trust in Him.

If you lose everything like Job, will you still say God is Lord? How deep are you in your salvation? How far have you gone? Everything can be taken as long I am left with you.

[Exodus 15: 1]

“Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord: “I will sing to the Lord, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver he has hurled into the sea.”

I do not tell God my troubles but God speaks for me in the midst of my troubles. I just be with the Lord and He addresses my situation. I do not murmur or complain as though He does not see my troubles. Let the Lord be your strength.

[Psalms 46:1]

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

God is with you and has your back in trials. Do not change. It is spiritually normal to go through things, it does not make you an unbeliever. Sometimes things do not have to agree or flow but you need to trust in the Lord.
