’BECOME YOUR BROTHERS KEEPER’ part 3
September 21, 2020Now we are dealing with the brother who is able to keep because the one who is able to keep has the potential for fathering as he has the same voice as the father. However, the one who is kept is not to steal, but the one who is able to keep is able to steal. A new convent cannot make one to lose the Word, yet a servant can make a new convent to believe what they teach them. A person who does not know that they are the minister of the Gospel, cannot prophesy the one who is a minister. It is the one who has long been with the church who makes the new convent aware of their gift, he has the ability to introduce a new message.
Peter is a relevant example, to the concept of keeping and not keeping a brother. When Jesus was crucified, Peter was the first one to leave, and the rest of the disciples followed him. They followed Peter because of his proximity to Jesus. The convents could not discern that it does not necessarily mean that Peter had a spiritual relationship with God hence they left. However, John was able to remain due to the relationship he had with God.
Hence, it is important that as brothers individually so, to have a spiritual relationship with our father. So that we won’t be fooled. You will then be able to discern when a brother comes with his own voice, and not with the voice of the father. Therefore, you will be able to reject certain brotherly help. There is help that is deemed to be rejected because such help comes with attachments. A fellow brother is able to transfer his weaknesses because you who are seeking help misjudged their relationship with the father. As many are with us now, but there were never there with us from the beginning. The Spirit requires us to discern so that we do not accept every help.
Many have the sight of the father and not the heart of the father. Jesus had the heart to keep Judas although He saw who Judas was. However, there are brothers who are able to see what the father sees, and after seeing that, they fail to have his heart. They saw a thief and judged him according to that, but the Father saw a son in a thief. Therefore, we need to be careful.
The sons of Jacob, Levy was joined and one with the father. Judah was close to the father, yet he never wanted his brothers to be close to the father. Hence, when the promise was not with Judah, he became jealous. For one to be entrusted with the responsibility of being a keeper, you must be able to lead your brothers to the father. The one who cannot bring his fellow brothers to the father, he is pushing his own mandate in the house of his father. This particular brother is known to be a rebuker, but in him rebuking the father is not revealed.
The attitude we receive from our fellow brothers is because of our motives. You find yourself rebuking but your motive is wrong – having a brother who is always trying to father you. Otherwise, get this, a time is coming where our father will trust sons to father their fellow brothers. Jesus proclaimed that “what you see me doing, is what I saw my Father doing”. Jesus was performing but in Him performing, the Father was seen. The problem begins when one performs for their name’s sake. Therefore, the question is: those whom you keep are you keeping them for your sake or for the Kingdom? If it is for your sake, then you will keep only those you like.
You are able to correct, but you cannot correct what you are struggling with. The reason why some brothers are not kept is because of competition among brothers. Once you see your brother as a competitor, your heart is not right. Your heart attracts challenges for your fellow brother. Hence, Paul said “esteem others high” because if you esteem your brother high there is no need to compete with them. It was hard for the disciples to accept Paul because they never saw as God saw. They continued seeing Paul as a killer of Christians, while God convicted the heart. They rejected him, rejection is not in words only, and the one who is rejected is able to feel the rejection. Our father once taught that the atmosphere can reject you. There comes a moment when one tries to keep a brother but the atmosphere rejects it, but they persist and get diluted at the end. What I’ve learned about being a keeper is that you do not have to know both sides of the story but you must stick to the truth.
Competition is what shields a person from seeing their fellow brother’s potential. As all you see is which chair to occupy so that your brother does not get to occupy it. The mandate is to build a name for yourself, and take all the glory in your father’s house. Another scripture instructs us to outdo each other in honor, there won’t be negativity. You only see the Father in them, the Christ.
(Genesis 4:1- 15) As sons we kill each other in the field, we do not kill each other in the presence of the father. We kill each other at the place of performance. He talked with him, you will hear them by the way they talk. They will surely invite you to the field, however, there are signs the minute their language changes. It is easy to become an unbeliever in the midst of believers, you start questioning the teachings that kept you till this far.
The strategy of a serpent does not come with new teaching but he uses the same teaching you have received. He asked Eve “Did God really say?” he plants doubt in the message you have received. They will question the teachings you have received and take you to the field. A field is a place far from the place where they meet.
Similarly to the prodigal son, he had to go to a far foreign place. Far is not a mere
geographic place but far from the father. The best place not to lose your gut is in the absence of the father because in the presence of the father you are protected. The Bible says a thief comes at night, but at daylight, the enemy cannot plant as the farmer is present.
A field is the market place, there are several voices. Hence the brother takes you out to the market place to create confusion as there are too many voices. In the presence, we are used to one voice of the father but in the market place, there are a lot of voices, some similar to the voice of the father. When the enemy approached Eve and also when he approached Jesus, he enhanced the message, so that he can be able to add.
The serpent said to Eve “Did God really say you will die? you will surely not die, he is afraid that you will become like Him.” The message was enhanced and it seemed like it is a new message. We often fall chasing things which we have been granted already, yet you want to search for them in the market place.
(Verse 4) It was God’s decision to reject the other gift and accept the other. Cain was very angry, this is what Abel attained from Cain’s anger hence his blood still cries for vengeance. Even in being kept, you must still hear the voice of the Father. Sin lays at the door, Cain was warned and advised, that if he does well he will be accepted.
As you are your brother’s keeper, God is giving you an ultimatum that if you do well you will be accepted yet if not then sin is crouching at your door, meaning sin is not already at the door yet it is crouching. Therefore the decision is on you. We ought to lead our brothers to the father and not to us. We are the reason for our fellow brother’s delays as we do not want to lead them to where we are. Abel came to fulfill the law, yet the honor was with Cain to show Abel the way to the Father. God wanted Abel from Cain because it was expected of Cain to teach Abel the right things. God did not expect Abel to die.
Those brothers who fell away, God is now asking them from other brothers in the house. We ought not to blame the world for the fall of our brothers, the problem was with their brothers in the house. God is asking the whereabouts of our brothers from us. Jesus to Peter He was like an older brother, a brother which God had entrusted to teach Peter. Jesus informed Peter that he was going to fall, it was inevitable it was meant to happen.
However, Jesus gave Peter a prophecy that when he comes back, he should come back with his brothers. In simple terms become your brother’s keeper. Among the disciples, it was only Peter who preached one day, and 3000 received salvation.
The disciples asked Jesus “ Who sinned that this man is born blind?” Jesus answered no one sinned, but this happened so that the glory of God may be revealed. Being unfaithful in what you are called for, in that way you are not being your brother’s keeper. You as a brother and sister you did not play a role, many are lost because of our actions.
Every time a brother falls, I question myself if, I am a vessel? Often we are quick to laugh but first check and see if you did not aid your fellow brother’s falling, did you not contribute somehow. Did you speed up the reaction, did you feed him information? Often those we become close to, they leave the glory, and the question is what was that person being fed? And yet you remain in the glory.
Therefore in the house of God, you cannot become close to someone and not impact them positively. If you do not impact them positively, then you must question your relationship with that person. Because if that person is able to leave the glory, then it means what you guys had was not fellowship but friendship. Your level of influence will determine how responsible you are, in keeping your brother. Your level of influence is determined by your spiritual relationship with the father.
