‘BELIEVE IN THE SPOKEN WORD OF GOD!’

[Luk 12:15]
“And He said to them, ” Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Life is not all about what you possess. Some people can make life-changing decisions because of possessions. Some people leave Christ because of possessions saying that they can’t get what they came for. If life is not all about what you possess then joy must never be determined by what you have. People in the world do not have joy and they can never have joy but they can be happy because joy and happiness are not the same things. Joy is not determined by your circumstances, it is deep inside you. The source of joy is God. Happiness is determined by your conditions hence people of the world can be happy and be in sorrow according to their circumstances.
The overflow of your possessions is nothing compared to life therefore this should never add or subtract to your joy. Here’s the definition of happiness and joy according to a spiritual dictionary:
Happiness is a feeling you get when things are going well. There’s nothing wrong with you being happy as a Christian but there’s everything wrong with you defining your happiness as joy.
Joy is a deep sense of pleasure, delight, gladness, and wellbeing that is independent of circumstances. Joy flows from a deeply rooted conviction that not only does God cause all things to work together for the good of those who love Him but they inherit joy in the sense of delight. In God that can cause our hearts to smile even if things on the outside seem to be falling apart.
Conviction is how you see things but not any other thing, how you perceive the God in you. Joy can be from possessions. Unbelievers can never have joy for joy is a gift from God. It can only be attained from the Holy Spirit. The evidence that you have the Holy Spirit is you being joyful. Your heart needs to smile even when things are not going well. Happiness brings a smile to your face but joy makes your heart smile. It is a problem when Christians are heartbroken because they have the Holy Spirit who has birthed joy in them regardless of their circumstances. Joy surpasses happiness. Happiness is temporary but joy is permanent.
[Galatians 5:22]
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law.”
Joy is the fruit and the gift of the Holy Spirit meaning you can lose everything and everyone around and still have joy. Joy is something the devil can never steal from you. Can the devil steal the Holy Spirit? But we can grieve the Holy Spirit. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit because by so doing you are tampering with the joy in you. Your heart becomes heavy because you have grieved the Holy Spirit and He has left.
[Ephesians 4:25]
“Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.”
It is important that as brothers we do not lie to one another. These are the kind of things that grieve the Holy Spirit. If you lie to your brother, how much more to your father? That is how Christians lose their joy. If joy is a fruit of the Spirit, how do you expect to attain it if you grieve the Holy Spirit?
You are a new man- created according to God not according to you. If we agree that we are born again then we are new men according to God.
How many of you sin when they are angry? When I read this scripture, I learned to master anger; I have the Son in me who has risen, the Morning Star, I will not be angry and allow Him to go down. The Christ in me must never die at the expense of my anger. With anger, the light doesn’t wait for the sun to set but it switches off immediately.
(Verse 29)Whatever we say has an impact on our joy. Some of you have never had joy in times of trouble because of what you say. Corruption is anything that is of darkness and it must never come out of your mouth. Whenever you speak to someone, ask yourself if you have edified them. And if you haven’t edified them, then you need to apologize and confess. There are some of the things that you say to someone that makes them religious and they start toiling, the flesh starts to speak.
If you don’t edify then you kill. Do not kill what God has planted, if you can’t raise it then don’t tamper with it. Other people’s salvation is not tampered with by themselves but their brothers. When you share the negative energy and thoughts you have towards the father with your brother, you are not edifying but you are killing. There’s when you badmouth the father and when you speak what you are going through, but whatever you are going through can kill the other.
A seed is very powerful because it can stay underground for years without you seeing it. Whatever negative word you receive can grow in you without you realizing it because the ground is not even breaking. You need to be careful among yourselves lest what you say corrupts you. It’s something else when brothers speak about another minister but what kills them is speaking about the minister who feeds them. You are cutting the umbilical cord. After disqualifying that tap(the father) before them, what do you expect them to drink? Sometimes you’d find yourself not agreeing with the tap, disagree with the tap in your heart, and go to tap(father) and tell him. Words are not powerful because they manifest immediately, they are powerful because it is a seed planted of which you are not aware. A seed begins by finding its roots before it can spring out.
Some people who left the presence were harmed by seeds that were planted in them years ago. The devil is patient. The Word I teach you now can benefit you after five years. People think Judas became possessed after the devil entered him but little do they know that the devil does not possess the ground he has not prepared. You can prepare a room because you are preparing to move in not that you are moving in, that is what the devil does. He prepares a room for himself in the lives of Christians.
[John 13:14]
“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.”
We grieve the Holy Spirit by entertaining the dust we pick up in the journey of salvation. You will pick up dust in the journey of salvation. The dust can be offense, gossip, lies, desires of the world, anger, jealousy, competition, disobedience, quarrels, and most importantly SIN! We will always pick up dust hence we need to wash one another but Christians are not washing each other, instead, they exchange each other’s dust. When two people who are offended sit down together, they are sharing their dust not washing each other. The minute a person can come to you to tell you their problem and you feel comfortable to also share your problem, know that you are sharing dust. A problem that reveals a problem is not from God, God brings solutions. What kind of water comes with dust? There’s no life where problems speak to problems. We teach you to always go to the father when you have a problem because the father will never give you problems but solutions. People are not looking to be washed, they find comfort in the dust upon the dust.
Both churches that are full of the Spirit and those that are not have offended people. Being Spirit-filled is God giving you teaching above the problem. Some ministers do not know how to deal with problems because they are below them. Wash each other’s feet, not uplift each other’s dust.
(Verse 6) This is the reason why God told Moses to take off his shoes, he was in a desert where there is dust so God had to wash it before Moses can enter the Holy of Holies. Many people want to enter the holy of holies with the dust hidden in their shoes.
When Jesus wanted to wash Peter’s feet, Peter instantly wanted to wash Jesus’ feet. Some people want to correct the father when they have to be corrected. It is not your responsibility to wash the father for he has his father who will wash him. Many come with shoes that cover their dust in the presence of God and the father. Where there is no honesty and truth, dust remains.
Many do not take off their shoes before the father and allow the father to deal with what he sees, not being aware that the dust they are hiding will deal with them in the future. If you cannot tell him the whole truth or be naked before him, do not call him your father. The relationship between the father and the son is based on the son’s nakedness. If you can’t tell me the truth then I am your pastor, not your father. How you behave towards me, tells whether I am your father or pastor. You can’t come to the father hiding as if when you first came to me, you were pure. You can’t be afraid of coming to me when you’ve made a mistake because you don’t want me to be disappointed. These are the things that the devil uses to take you away from the presence of the father. If God has allocated me to be your father, unfortunately, you just have to accept what God gave you.
Sin is not the only thing that tampers with the joy in you. The minute the joy of salvation is taken away, you have lost the engine, what excites you in the presence of God, then serving will be a burden. There are something’s that if you do, you will never remain with the Spirit in you. Make it a point that when you speak to your brother, you edify them.
Here’s what God wanted me to share with you:
Some people leave the well they drink from in hope of finding a greater well and when they don’t, they are afraid to go back to the well where they used to get a life. Always go back to where you used to drink from, do not sit and be dry in the desert when the well that used to give you life is still there.
[Ephesians 4:29]
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”
Having joy in salvation is very important. The moment you grieve the Holy Spirit, you lose the joy of the spirit. Do not expect to have joy if you still do these things.
Below are the things you need to know about joy:
1. JOY CAN BE RESTORED
[Psalms 51:12]
“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”
This was David after he had sinned. He was still born again but he had lost the joy of salvation. Whenever you commit any of the things I have spoken about, you lose your joy. There’s no way that you can entertain the flesh and the devil does not take anything from you. It says ‘The joy of your salvation’ not my salvation because joy is a gift from God. We need the joy of salvation and it is restorable. It can never be restored without confession, David had to confess. When no one is teaching, it doesn’t mean God is not speaking. The Gospel of fatherhood is not seasonal, it is a doctrine. It will always be there. David didn’t call Samuel ‘father’ but we can see the nature of their relationship. God will not allow you to confront Him when He has given you a father.
It is important for a woman to marry a believer because the God that she must submit to is her husband. The head of a wife is the husband and that of the husband is God. If you disobey a man who has the Spirit of God, you have disobeyed God. When Sarah called Abraham ‘My Lord’, it was not a joke. God acknowledges what Sarah did to Abraham, even in the New Testament. As a wife, when you see your husband, you must see God. What your husband says is what God has said. A wife can never go to hell because of what the husband has said; in her submission to her husband, she will be covered. The husband will be accountable. God can intervene in special cases and not all cases. If a Spirit-filled man hits his wife, and the wife decides to leave; she has sinned.
Submission without conditions must never be given conditions. A wife doesn’t have to complain about her husband if she does not submit. God requires us to be holy regardless of our surroundings and circumstances. This is unfair in the flesh. There is no exception of you breaking the commands of God because someone does something. That mindset is the one that resulted in the downfall of men.
When I left the church that I served in, I did it in the right way. My father taught me that no matter how I was mistreated in the church I was in, I must remain until God speaks. Many have left their previous churches in the wrong way but for the right reasons, they have sinned. Some of you are graced because you didn’t know but now that you know, do things in the right way if you want to be blessed in the future. I teach you the truth because I don’t want you to go to hell. We need to honor the one who planted. The one who waters must never criticize the one who planted. If you have the means to fix this, fix it so that you can be blessed going forward. All of this is in the book of Philemon. Paul honored Philemon.
2. THERE IS JOY IN THE WORD
[Psalms 119:111]
“Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the joy of my heart.”
The testimony is the Word. The one that holds onto the Word of God will always have joy. We have joy in the Word. They were troubled because they did not have the Word, holding onto His commandments. The Word is our inheritance, this is what has been left and given to us. We have found joy in this. We have taken His Word as our culture, a way of doing things.
3. JOY IS FOUND IN THE PRESENCE
[Psalms 16:11]
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
You must always be in the presence. Entertain whatever maintains the presence in your life because when you do that you will have joy. Fellowship sustains the presence. Do not neglect the gathering of the saints, Zoom is fellowship. Every wood that is burning needs to gather with other woods to rekindle the fire. Many people are afraid of going through elimination(hard times) but God says that is where they get fire(the presence). Fellowship keeps you in the presence and you will forever have the joy of the spirit. The church must be your petrol station
4. JOY IS FOUND IN RIGHTEOUSNESS
[Psalms 97:11]
“Light shines on the godly, and joy on those who do right.”
When you are upright in your heart, you feel joy. There must be righteousness in your heart, (another scripture reference: Ecclesiastes 2:26)
5. JOY IN WISDOM
[Proverbs 15:23]
“A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”
It is important that when you speak you display wisdom at all times. Do not put wisdom aside, it needs to be all time. It is not for some people but for everyone. Whenever you are confronted with a situation or you are talking to someone, ask yourself if what you’re about to say has wisdom. Knowledge without wisdom kills. Many saw and heard, but because they didn’t have wisdom, they died. Wisdom is an administration, it administrates what you say regardless of what you heard or saw.
6. HOPE PRODUCES JOY
[Proverbs 10:28]
“The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.”
We go through many things, we must always hope for good things that will bring joy. You are not a Christian if you don’t have hope. I confess immortality even when people die in front of me because of hope. Faith is the substance of things we hope for, you can never have faith without hope. In you hoping, you will continually have joy. People don’t have joy because they have accepted their situations. Everything is possible with God. Always hope for better, it keeps us going. The one who looks at their troubles and starts crying lost hope. Hope is found in the Word. The promises of God pump up hope.
7. JOY IN ANSWERED PRAYERS
[John 16:24]
“Until now you have asked nothing in My Name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full”
Asking knowing that you will receive completes your joy- Joy in answered prayers. Go to the father with a mentality that you are going to receive. Asking fulfills your joy.
8. JOY IN REMEMBRANCE
[Phillipians 1:3]
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy.”
Remembering what God has done will bring joy. Let us look at what God has done for us, this will fatten and maintain our joy. Our joy must be fed and fattened.
9. JOY IN TRUSTING THE LORD
[Psalms 40:4]
“Oh, the joys of those who trust the Lord, who have no confidence in the proud or in those who worship idols.”
Trusting the Lord fattens your joy. Being worried and stressed shows that you don’t trust the Lord. Trust is very important, trust God. Do not trust anything except God.
I hope and believe that all of this completes your joy!
