“LOVE IS A CHARACTER”
September 30, 2021
Today God was saying I should minister to you about His mercy, grace, and love. He says come as you are. I don’t know if it is because of what He was doing yesterday. Hence He said that you should send in your confessions. So for those who are scared of sending their confessions this message is for you. I feel like I am always harsh and rebuking, but today God wants to speak about mercy.
[Hebrews 4:11]
We must be persistent and strive to enter the rest and once you have entered the rest you must hold on. You must hold on to the confession. If you don’t become diligent to enter the rest, then you might fall. If you are not in the rest, then you are under the law and it is by your own works. We know that the Word of God is living and active, but have you ever meditated upon the word ‘living’? When something is living it is alive – it is a whole being and it has life.
So when it says that the Word of God is alive, it means that the Word of God is a being itself and it is living and powerful. It is not just a living being but it is also alive and powerful. Can you imagine the Word being this creature that is so powerful? Do not liken the Word of God with words that we speak, or when you compare the Word of God with mere words, it is not the same thing. Once you have that acknowledgment and start to see it that way, then you will value the things that you speak, and you will forever confess and declare upon your life because you will know that it is not you speaking but it is the powerful creature that is in you.
Hence Paul says when I stand and speak, it is not I but Christ in me, meaning when He speaks He does so from the powerful place. We need to recognize that the Word of God is a force to be reckoned with. The Word of God is living and powerful. However, we like saying that words are more powerful than physical actions; this is common knowledge to the world that words are powerful. They pierce through your emotions and feelings but the Word of God goes deeper than that, it pierces through the innermost hidden parts.
The Word of God is living, powerful and it pierces through, and it is sharper than any sword. Unlike the words of this world, they pierce through the soul and spirit, that is how powerful the Word is. Hence the Word says, ‘be afraid of the one who can kill both the soul and body’. Let us picture God in His supremacy. For He is the same today, yesterday, and forever, meaning that what was wrong yesterday, even tomorrow it will still be wrong. When we compare Him to us, we fall short because of our deeds. If we had to compare ourselves to the standard that God wants, we will definitely fall short. God sees you and He knows every single thing about you.
There is nothing hidden before God with regards to you. He knows you more than your mother or even psychologists can study you. God knows you, He knows everything. He knows your heart, intentions, and motives. There is nothing hidden to God about you. (Verse 13), He even knows that single ant that you have killed, there is no creature hidden from His sight. So if you are smart and are able to outshine everyone, you can never do that to God, He is wiser. When we say become naked before God it is for you, so that He might see you as you are. There is no point in hiding as He can see you. He knows your future, so there is no point in hiding from Him. There is no point in trying to be smart. Just go to Him just as you are.
God sees us as we are. All things are open to His eyes, so there is no point in hiding. (Verse 14), After saying all of that, that God sees us, He comes and says that we have a High Priest who has passed through this. So let us hold fast to our confession and belief. Let us hold fast into diligently entering the rest that He gave to us. Remember that you are saved by grace through faith, so hold on to the confession that ‘I am not righteous through my own works but it is through His blood and works’. There is no point in trying to hide because He knows you. Hold on to the confession that God has made you righteousness, and you hold on to it by faith because faith without works is dead. The way you live, you are holding on to your faith. God knows you, He knows me.
There are things that no man would ever know, things like your motive and your mind, but He knows your comings and goings. Let us hold fast to our confession. Hold fast to the confession – do not let go. Hold it very close to you. (Verse 15), that very High Priest is there for us. So we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize. Jesus was tempted and tested in all ways. If the Word had not become flesh and dwelt among us, maybe we would have stood to say that He doesn’t understand, but He does because He is speaking from a place of experience. He says do not act as if I don’t know and cannot sympathize with you.
We are holding fast to our confession because we’ve got that assurance. So the minute you want to give up or let go just remember that God knows our weaknesses and sympathizes with us at all times. He acknowledges that we have weaknesses, and because of that you should come boldly to God’s throne of grace. There is nothing that you are going to surprise God with, so whatever weakness you might have come to the throne of grace. He does not call it the throne of power because this is where grace is enthroned. It starts with you being naked and coming boldly. If you are going to hide in shame the throne of God will not be grace to you. So recognize that the throne of God is grace and this grace is there for you.
No one must come and lie to you, that it is physically impossible for you to stay without dating or to be a traffic cop and not take the bribe. Let no man lie to you because it is possible. We obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need. So let us come boldly to the throne of God – grace. Yesterday our father said send in your confession, do so with the same boldness recognizing that you are not sending it to a mere man but you are sending it to the throne of grace. When you come with your weaknesses and confess it is the same as you leaving your burdens there in exchange for mercy.
You won’t get a judgement but the exchange will be mercy. I am not saying that there won’t be rebuke or correction but in the midst of it all, you will obtain mercy and you will be saved. You will be saved from bondage and darkness. Whatever it might be, big or small, send in your confession to obtain mercy. This message is for someone ready to change their ways and start on a clean slate with God. You can be born again and serving as a Christian and yet be limited, so I want you to open yourself up to God. You are already naked, so have the mentality that you should not hide anything because He already knows. It is for your own advantage to release it. It is up to you to say Lord here I am, help me obtain mercy and grace.
We bless the Lord, it is not too late, send through your confessions.
