Year of Immortality
August 16, 2021
“PEACE IS THE GREATEST WEAPON ONE CAN USE”
August 18, 2021It is still women’s month. God loves us as women. God does not consider gender, He loves women [the church].
[1 Peter 3:7]
“Husbands likewise dwell with them, with understanding giving honor to the wife as the weaker vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered.”
If men hinder women, their prayers will not be heard. There is little seed within us. When we water it and it grows, it tends to become a monster in us. Due to these monsters or seeds inside us, God rejects us. These seeds are different. We have a character and the Holy Spirit which are required from us.
[Numbers 12:3]
“Now the man Moses was very humble more than all men who were on the face of the earth.”
Moses had a humble character. He was chosen because of his character. God knows us and our character. He also knows the number of our hair on our head and that is how very well He knows us.
Some characteristics are birthed out by the environment we find ourselves in. No one in their rightful nature can decide to be disobedient. No one is born with these seeds of short temper and anger, but they are the results of the environments they find themselves in.
[Numbers 20:11]
“Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.”
Water came out of the rock and they all drank. The Israelites were complaining and with Moses being with humble character, whenever they complained he would go to the Lord. Henceforth only the elders and not the congregation witnessed Moses striking the rock and water coming out.
Moses did the opposite of what he was instructed by God. It was expected of Moses to only speak to the rock but instead, he strikes it. Throughout the journey, the Israelites were complaining, and perhaps Moses could have performed in the presence of them but their complaints are what deprived them of witnessing Moses striking the rock and they would have believed and start to trust in God. Their character could not allow them. The Israelites complaints resulted in Moses having anger. His surrounding changed his humble character.
[Exodus 32:19]
“So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So, Moses’ anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.”
Moses’s anger became hot. This was the seed that he had before and was never dealt with. Although he was humble, he also had anger and it emerged because of Israelites complaints and he then became disobedient to God by doing the opposite of what he was instructed to do by God.
It is now very crucial that every individual introspect themselves and deal with those little seeds which we keep watering unaware of because they will eventually grow into huge monsters. Do away with things that easily bind you and run away from them. We ought to introspect those minor seeds within us, these seeds start small and they eventually emerge.
Little things like not speaking and fighting with your siblings, in your teens or whatever age group do away with these seeds before they emerge. Do away with bad character. Some characters prevent God from blessing us. There is a place we must enter but because of bad character, you cannot enter.
All along Moses was known for his humble character and was trusted by God, but we later see a character of anger in him which God did not like. Only because of one bad character. One bad fruit and God was unhappy with him. The sole reason for delayed progress in our lives is bad character.
An easily offended woman is an ugly woman. Today’s message is relevant to everyone. Moses striking the rock several times was an indication that one’s surrounding is important because his actions were because of the Israelites complains. Therefore, when you are easily offended you act upon your anger.
Directed to women, while it is still women’s month, be assured that your actions will also impact your environment or surrounding. Although we have passed the stage of mastering a quiet spirit, we have now become louder within ourselves. The loud voice is no longer on the outside for all to hear but within. Although the mouth or lips are quiet, the heart is still talking. A woman or a mother who gets easily offended cannot bring warmth to their household or children.
[Proverbs 14:30]
“A sound heart is a life to the body, but envy is rottenness and it even spoils the bones.”
Our father Abraham Unknown once said that “offense is very expensive and it cost you a lot.”Although Jesus was beaten up, they could not hurt his bones. However, from what we just read it says envy spoils even the bones. Anger and offense go deeper and cause more damage. Anger and offense do not only cause harm to self but also to those surrounding you.
A sound heart is full of life and gives life to the body. As a woman, your heart and mind are very powerful. Therefore, do not allow anything to come in which will cause harm. Not only to you but also to your household. Offense can also be a generational issue, therefore do not allow yourself to be offended. Do not allow your surroundings to change who you are. Adam blamed everyone besides himself, saying to God that the wife You gave me. Similarly, as an individual never allow your surroundings to be a reason for your anger.
Do not postpone dealing with those minor seeds. Allow that bad character to be dealt with. We have been given spiritual parents to call and speak to about everything. Therefore, allow your seeds to be dealt with. We always opt to reason for our actions blaming our actions based on our surroundings. However, in everything God questions our actions, therefore the responsibility lies with you.
[Matthew 10:16]
“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”
We are being sent out as sheep among wolves. We are likened to weaker vessels because we symbolize sheep. Where we are sent out to the location might not be familiar and the mandate might not be suitable for all. With that said as a woman, you need to know what your purpose is and where God is sending you and there is a character that is required of you. The character of a sheep is quietness. Quietness is not only speaking in words but our expressions and reactions.
It is said and believed that God is a protector, but He is now sending us out as sheep among wolves. The Bible says that there are weapons formed against us, but they shall not prosper. We should not focus on the formation or the wolves because they will not prosper. Nonetheless, you cannot be sent out to wolves without a heart of a sheep. We have passed the stage of the outer but now we focus on what is within. God trusts us as women to send us out. However, we need to carry the fullness of a sheep.
Your environment and surrounding can be your wolves. You need to maintain your state of a sheep and the heart of sheep. You must be wise as a serpent. Where we read about Moses when the Israelites were bitten by snakes and he was instructed to raise a bronze snake, the Israelites received healing. Therefore, in this regard being wise as a serpent it means you bring healing. Whenever people have an encounter with you, they receive life and healing.
Furthermore, we must be harmless as a dove which signifies the Holy Spirit. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit. When you grieve the Holy Spirit no one notices but only your Father. As women, we know how sensitive we are but in whatever we do we should not grieve the Holy Spirit.
[Proverbs 14:1]
“A wise women build up her own house but a foolish one put it down with her hands.”
This is directed to all women out there even teens. At some point in life, these teachings will be relevant to you, therefore bank and store them up somewhere. In time of need, you will know where to go. Similarly, with prayer points of marriage and so forth although you cannot relate just pray because in the near future you might need the very same prayer and God will remember that you once prayed about it.
[Proverbs 25:24]
“It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, than in a house shared with a contentious woman.”
This month of August, God is building women’s character, and the book of Proverbs is a reference. Although as a woman you may not be married yet, practice and master having a quiet spirit. Do not quarrel with your siblings but build your character with your siblings. Do not be angry with them.
It is a women’s nature to pray despite the age they are in, whatever prayer point is there in the church do pray because in the near future you will be a wife or a mother.
[Proverbs 31:11-31]
“The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.”
Although men are known to be providers, we read in this verse that she seeks wool and flax and willingly works with her hands. You won’t eat the sweat of your forehead, but you must work and the husband will still provide. Wherever there is a word “She” mark it and put your name on it because you are that woman. You have that character; you have the full package and you are enough. As women, it is time we polish each other’s crowns with the Word.
