THE ABRAHAMIC COVENANT

THE COVENANT OF DAVID – THE TEMPLE OF GOD’
June 11, 2021 [Matthew 3:7-9]
“But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.”
Logically with their own blood, they are children of Abraham. Henceforth they came to claim what belonged to Abraham because they had the same blood flowing in their veins like Abraham, therefore they were descendants of Abraham.
He advised them to repent from their evil and also to bear the fruits of repentance. They had to connect with Abraham not merely physically but spiritually as Abraham is the father of Faith. God made a promise and blessings through Abraham. We need to have assurance within ourselves without a doubt that we are descendants of Abraham, also know we are descendants not through flesh/blood.
God is able to raise children from stones, He did that as we are those stones. When Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey and they said to Him the multitude should keep quiet as they were making noise and He said “God will raise up stones to worship Him” (See Luke 19:40) this was prophecy. We are built upon the foundations of the Apostle with the chief cornerstone being Christ Jesus, therefore we are stones built upon Him.
[Romans 5:10-20]
We shall be saved by His life, through whom now we have been reconciled meaning men have been reconciled with God. Reconciliation is for those who were with Him before, meaning there was a time where we belonged to Him but we lost connection with Him along the way, hence we were reconciled. We were all born out of God however during the time of Adam due to disobedience he was then taken out of the garden, we were brought up without connection with God.
All these cultures we see on earth were man-made because they lacked origin and were disconnected from God. God had to send His only Son, to inform us that we are born of Christ and had to reconcile us. Jesus Christ came into the world to unite with His long-lost family. There is nothing new that the devil does everything he does he copies from God. Traditionally/culturally when a long-lost son reunites with his original family they slaughter a cow to introduce him to his ancestors but this is not new, it is mentioned in the Bible. Similarly to us, we were reconciled through a sacrifice hence Jesus had to die on the cross.
Through the death of His Son, Jesus became the sacrifice so we could be reconciled with God and that is a culture from above. Many have sacrificed goats or cows and yet after a couple of months, they have required another sacrifice, meaning the sacrifice expires. Jesus was slaughtered two thousand years ago, even today He is still the talk of the world, meaning this is everlasting blood that does not expire.
With that being said, even today people’s sins are washed by the very same blood and sacrifice. There is no other sacrifice required as the blood of Jesus does not expire. This is the true definition of originality, who in their right mind would settle for a fake t-shirt while they have an original one.
We were unaware that many things which we practiced when we were still in the world are mentioned in the Bible, however, something was lacking. Indeed we were informed about sacrifices but we did not know there is a true sacrifice which is Jesus Christ. In most African traditions when they slaughter animals they say they are introducing one to their ancestors. Similarly, Jesus Christ’s blood reconciled us to God who is not seen, it is spiritual. A sacrifice had to be made through His Son.
In the Old Testament, they used to slaughter livestock, and they were offered as a sacrifice to God. Every year each family had to sacrifice and slaughter the finest livestock, however, it was stopped by God because He saw it fitting that they had to be a permanent sacrifice and He sent Jesus Christ. To be precise Jesus was not killed but He was given as a sacrifice. In the book of John, He says “ I
lay down My own life” (See John 10:18) He further said “I am not here to destroy the culture of sacrifice but He came to complete and fulfill it” bringing it into completion because every year they had to sacrifice livestock.
All that is required to be done is for one to accept and believe in the sacrifice(Jesus Christ) in this way they won’t have to do sacrifices every year. We shall be saved by His life, hence you are not a Christian if you do not understand the power of a sacrifice and you must also understand the importance of a sacrifice.
Through Jesus now we have received the reconciliation, meaning the minute Jesus died as a sacrifice we were then reconciled back to our true identity which is God. The troubles, sickness, and all misfortunes of this world were because of one man, we were disconnected because of Adam’s disobedience. Through one man sin entered the world, sickness spread to all men.
Before we can deal with sin you have committed, it is good to deal first with the son which you were born into. We were all born as sinners, infants are born as sinners due to families they are born into and it is unfair. Similarly, with us we were born in sin without a choice, no one chose to be a sinner nor to be disconnected from God but we were born into sin. With Adam’s disobedience, God had a solution through His Son, meaning we do not have to live in what we were born into. It is possible to disconnect yourself from generational curses.
We are now reconciled to Him, we are connected to a new bloodline, lineage, and genealogy from above and only inherent good things. As believers, we choose what to disconnect ourselves from that which we might have inherited from our parents, leave the bad and take the good. When we say we are Abrahamic generation we have the power of choice, we choose and decide what we want to see in our lives. The Bible says in the book of Hebrews “We believe, therefore we speak” as Christians, we have the power to speak what we believe and it comes to pass.
We have two different people, one whose prayer is a complaint and one who speaks what they believe and it comes to pass. There are two prayers which Hannah prayed, one where she complained and murmured about being barren and yet this prayer did not produce any results. Elkanah said to Hannah “Am I not worth to you more than 10 sons” (See 1 Samuel 1:8) she then understood the revelation and her second prayer changed. and she said to God “The son whom you going to give me, I’ll dedicate him to the temple” she was then praying with results and no complaints, that is when Samuel was born. We ask and complain a lot, instead of changing situations.
The lineage of Abraham does not have limitations. God said to Abraham “Look at this land you see is now yours” (see Genesis 13:15) Whatever we lay our eyes on is ours. This is the promise that was made to our Father Abraham, therefore we have a strange anointing whatever we lay our eyes on, it is ours. Whatever is stolen from us we repossess. Joseph had brothers but the blessing came only through him and this was evident because Egypt was blessed. After all, Joseph was there. Hence only the bones of Joseph was taken to enter Canaan(see Exodus 13:19)
[Genesis 13]
Sin entered the world only through one man, however what much more about one man who brings righteousness, who reconciles us and reconnects us. We are not merely descendants of Abraham through blood however we are descendants of Abraham because we believe in Jesus Christ who died for us on the cross. Therefore we have the full right to say Abraham’s blessings are ours.
Jesus said to them “ You are here and want to kill me but Abraham whom you claim to be your father, he was excited to see My day” ( See John 8:56) The valley of kings is a day, not a place, hence it says Abraham was happy to see the day.
[Galatians 3:7-14]
Know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham, not only those who are Jewish or through the blood but it can only be through faith. We are crafted in while there are those who are rejected. Be assured that if you believe in what is unseen and speak what is unseen, that indeed you are the son of Abraham. Abraham did not receive the law but received the Gospel(good news).
(Verse 8) In you, all nations will be blessed. Those who are of faith are blessed with believing in Abraham. The kind of family we are born out of which is the Abrahamic generation and it is their life we should observe and learn from. In the Abraham generation, whatever fights us channels us to the Will of God. Often when God says no, He is channeling us to the His Will. We make the best out of the worse. Being of the Abrahamic generation you will be accused a lot, what is in us it is more precious, a generation which is incorruptible. The plan of God upon your life is beyond the city you reside in, God wants to establish you bigger than what you can imagine.
Go and dominate and enhance where there are loopholes. Change history, create something which is out of this world be innovative, think like the Abrahamic generation.
[Romans 4:14- 20]
The promise may be sure to the seed, not only to those of the law but to those who are of the faith of Abraham who is the father to us all. (Verse 16) According to what was spoken so shall your descendants be. Let not your faith be weak, and when we say weak we do not refer to size. Often Christians have faith in possible situations but where it seems impossible we lose faith and say “Let us be realistic”. We are of the Abrahamic generation and something must change in our lives and what seems impossible should be possible due to our faith.
