‘DO NOT GRIEVE GOD – REPENT!’- Part 3
February 12, 2021[John 4:13]
“Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”
All men of old drank from the well, but never received the promise – the Spirit couldn’t dwell with them forever. The true dwelling of God is with man, and He dwells with us permanently because we have something which that generation didn’t have.
God destroyed both animals and man because man was behaving like an animal. God became grieved with man because He breathed in him and he became a living soul. What God breathed upon man is better than ‘let us make man in our own image’, because this is a soul.
The soul is the one that needs to have a relationship with God. God breathed His Spirit, which is what He made in the image. When the Spirit reaches the body it creates something else.
Genesis 2:7, when God created man in His image and gave Him the Spirit, there was another one who became a living soul. So there were three men instead of two, which is: the body, spirit, and the living soul. Man has a soul that he needs to keep. When did He say that an animal is a living animal? People who continually sin are behaving like animals as if they have nothing to lose.
[John 4:14-21]
Holiness will flow out of them, and they will become a fountain of water. It means the Holy Spirit will dwell in you forever and when people see you, they will have a relationship with the Holy Spirit because of you. (Verse 15), you want this water, let me address the way you are living because your character is not well.
You can’t have this water while you hop in and out of relationships. The men of the Old moved with God but had concubines. They killed yet they wrote the Bible, and they would have the spirit of prophecy, we have long passed this time.
Now it is not that time, He wants where you will drink and not thirst again. Let me deal with your life. You can’t just have the Holy Spirit without me correcting your wrongdoings. When the woman said, ‘I want this water’, Jesus could have just given her but instead, He said before I can give this ‘Go call your husbands’, in other words, let me address your lifestyle.
Your lifestyle matters to God because the Holy Spirit can never dwell where He will be oppressed. Jesus made wine for the ones who were drinking from the well of Jacob. Now we are talking about the well of Jesus. You can’t compare your life with theirs. Are you in the Old Testament? We are in the after Christ not before Christ. Verse 17 is a confession. The prophetic was addressing her lifestyle, not cars or money. It was addressing how the woman lived. The woman could have lied but instead, she spoke the truth.
You have been hopping in and out of relationships. Not many are like this Samaritan woman. If you tell them how to live they say you are judging them, but when you tell them about cars and money, they say you are a prophet. Where are prophets of this manner who will address the way you live? People must know how the true prophets of God operate.
Samuel anointed David as king, and David went and slept with someone’s wife. After doing that, God sent a prophet again to rebuke him. If a prophet can tell you how great a man of God you will be and fail to address the way you live, then he is not a true prophet. Samuel was not afraid and ashamed to tell David that he has sinned before God.
People have been prophesying about what you will be in 10 years to come, but there needs to be a prophet that will arise and address a lifestyle. If you sin as a prophet, then I am that prophet who will address your lifestyle. Samuel didn’t go to David only when it was good but also when things were bad. When I come and correct you, would you still see me as a person who told you that God will give you a job? God had to deal with their lifestyle before they could receive the Holy Spirit.
Even Peter couldn’t receive the Holy Spirit until God dealt with him. Had they received the Holy Spirit before, Judas would still betray Jesus because his attitude was never dealt with beforehand. He had to teach them how to live first before they could receive the Holy Spirit. Hence, He said, “go and wait in Jerusalem and you will receive power.” When Jesus breathed upon them before they could be changed, they fell, then stood up and returned to their old lives (fishing).
The disciples had two lives, the life where they received the touch of the Holy Ghost and where they received the Holy Spirit. When He came He had to address the way they lived. What God needs from us is to love Him more than our desires. He wants you to love Him more than the joy of your youth, more than that girlfriend, drink, or smoke.
Many of you still can’t hear God, He touches you the way He wants but He doesn’t dwell in you. You still struggle with many things because He doesn’t dwell in you. (Verse 21) You worship what you do not know because the Holy Ghost comes and touches you meaning you have no relationship with Him.
You worship what you do not know because the Holy Ghost touches you. As long as He doesn’t dwell in you, He remains a Ghost and you will never know how it feels to have Him within you. The Kingdom of God is a matter of joy, peace, and righteousness in the Holy Spirit. Where is this righteousness because we demonstrate power without righteousness?
[Romans 14:17]
In actual fact, the Kingdom of God is not a matter of desire. Before one can eat, you must desire the food. Animals die because of eating, they are controlled by hunger. Righteous comes by faith, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God. How can they believe unless someone is sent out? I have been sent to preach to you so that you may receive righteousness.
Now that you have heard, you live by faith and not by sight, there is righteousness that is credited to you. This can only happen in the Holy Spirit. The Samaritan woman wanted the water which is the Holy Spirit. [John 4: 19-21] You will not observe God in church or the mountain only, but you will observe Him everywhere.
Those things you cannot do because you observe church, are the things you must not do even when you are alone. You allowed what people saw as no value to worship God, and to play around it. God sees you as a righteous powerful woman, but when someone looks at you they see no value because of the things they saw you do.
[Daniel 5:1]
They have been taken from the temple, so this belongs in the temple. Imagine yourself being that vessel. You are not taken from the temple but you are the temple. The Bible says don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, so why didn’t the Holy Spirit dwell in them, because they didn’t live righteously. So do not sin against the temple of God.
(Verse 4) they were used as though they are nothing. Many people are same as this king. (Verse 3), they took out gold and silver which belongs to the temple, these vessels belonged to God. God says silver and gold is mine, so it’s as if they are worshipping the true God the one who made the gold and silver. People do whatever they want with their bodies, and at the end they want to worship the very same God who made that body.
(Verse 26-27), righteousness was not found in him hence it started to judge him. What made his kingdom to fade away was because of how they sinned against the vessels. Whatever you do you must have the fear of God. I am giving you reasons to live righteously for God. You need to be careful how you live and who you commune with.
