“DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR GIFTS”

[1 Corinthians 12:1-11]

Spiritual gifts are supposed to make you confess that Jesus is Lord. In them, they carry the Spirit of confession that Jesus is Lord. The Holy Spirit is the one who is in charge of the spiritual gifts. The devil is spiritual, sin is spiritual but when you live in sin you live in the flesh. When it says that you are living in a fleshly way it is not speaking about this flesh. Gifts are spiritual and they are meant to be under the authority of the Holy Spirit.

We should not be ignorant of gifts. When someone who used their gifts in the kingdom of darkness comes to God, it looks like they are expected to set aside those gifts, but we should not set them aside. When it says that they were gentiles it means that they were disconnected from God. These people had spiritual gifts, but they were afraid to operate with their spiritual gifts in God, he says that he does not want them to be ignorant of the gifts.

When you carry the spirit of God do not be afraid to use your spiritual gift. When people become spiritual, they neglect the spiritual gifts. These gifts are given for a reason. Even though you have the Spirit in you, the Spirit must use the gift. People neglect spiritual gifts. Demons cannot see but it is the gift that God has placed upon men that makes one see. People who are born again are afraid of using the gift that they have, or they have been using it in the dark kingdom. When you neglect it, you associate the gift with the world and not with God. God has given us gifts and these gifts must excel in the kingdom of God.

The church has neglected their spiritual gifts and that is why the world excels in their gifts. Gifts were given so that we may have what the world has today. Your own gift will open doors for you and not for someone else. You must utilize your gift in the world. The bible says that your gift will bring you before kings, but you cannot reach that stage when you still neglect it and associate it with the world. The gift is not only limited to the functions in the church, but it goes beyond that. If it is associated with the world, you can never utilize it. It will not bring you before kings.

Paul is telling them that these gifts are for our own benefit. They were comfortable operating them in the world, but they were afraid to operate with them in the church. You have the spirit, let that gift operate. Gifts are meant to be taken advantage of and not you taking advantage of other people using the gift. When you take advantage of the gift it opens doors for you. The church is sitting with gifts. People do not allow the Spirit to sharpen their gifts. A church is complete when those indeed speak, speak and those who see indeed see.

Some tongues are not a secret message to God but they are meant for the church but there is no one to interpret those tongues that are being spoken. The message does not only come out in reading scriptures. God can speak through you. Do not allow the disorder or immaturity of some to destroy what God is doing. The disorder that is in the church can shut down what God is doing in the church. Silencing them does not help because God has given them gifts and He speaks through them. People gossip because they do not know what their gift is.

Every gift needs to be channeled and be used according to the Holy Spirit. Spiritual gifts are not meant to be neglected. Be careful not to master someone else’s gift and neglect yours. Ask yourself what you have been gifted in. when it is a gift that is from God and you operate in it, He ensures that the glory will be revealed through it.

Pastoring may be a gift but the functions of it might be gifts in the church. When you meet me my gift must be able to assist you. Gifts were given so that we may live a convenient

life, when God says in Genesis that Adam must take care of the gift, he was given a gift to take care of. The gift still operates in the world. Even though he fell, he did it outside. Even in his fall, he took care. When he is restored, he might have a mentality that taking care is outside. God said that he will till the ground and not the garden because he was going to be chased out.

There are gifts in us they need to be glorifying God besides where you are serving. Your gift is not your calling. To some, they do not understand that to dance is a gift and not a calling, yet they are sitting on it. Your gift needs to glorify God. The one who sits on top of the gift is cursed. The curse is that what he has will be taken away and will be left with nothing. It is time for gifts to be used in the church. We have been so spiritual that we have neglected gifts. Use your gift, your gift needs to glorify God. When a gift is a gift, it is a gift, and it needs to be utilized in the house of God. It needs to glorify God. God has given you gifts.

The feet of Jesus are not at the same place for all of us. His feet are somewhere for you. touching His feet is not us being at the same place. You might be in the kitchen and yet you are touching His feet. Martha and Mary’s feet were at a different place. Martha’s feet were in the kitchen. You have been given something, if it is from God, it must worship God. In you, they will be something lacking because of not fulfilling your purpose or not operating in what God has given you. if you do not connect with the gift, you will never reach a stage where you are satisfied. One needs to connect with what God has given them. The more you excel in gifts the more you are given. No one can excel in a gift that you have more than you.

A gifted person is not afraid of transferring knowledge. It comes naturally.

Education can secure bread for you, but the gift will make you sit with kings and open doors for you, you need both. You just cannot study and neglect your gift. Your gift will make you sit with kings. When it is a gift, against all odds you are able to make it. Find your gift and let it worship God every day.

Positions have surpassed gifts. You can never excel in somebody’s job, but you can excel in your gift. Some of you are not excelling because you are busy with someone else’s gift, and you are sitting on top of yours. When it goes to the Lord it is not a sweet aroma.  It is time we stop being ignorant and use what God has given us to glorify Him. As a Christian, you need to be aligned. Christianity is everything and not some part of your life. There are things in Christianity we do, and you do not see the importance of them but you find that it is that small thing that is keeping you.
