Go And S Oi n NoMore part 2
August 14, 2020Just by hearing the Word and believing in it, you are healed. There is this thing that most people and Christians like to say that, it is not possible for a human being to not sin. You cannot say that you are born again and you are a child of God but still sin. Most people believe that it is not possible not to sin.
[John 8: 7-11]
When the Word is taught and we are told not to sin, we use this scripture to say that let him who is without sin cast the first stone. Who can stand boldly that I do not have sin? Remember that those people who were there were believers. Yet when Jesus said that whoever who is without sin let him be the one to cast the stone, they all left while and they were preaching the Word; they were believers. So it means that within the body (church) sin was present.
Why does Jesus say to the woman that she must go and sin no more? It means that it is possible to be a human being living on the Earth without sinning. He said that because He knows us. When he spoke those words, those religious men left. This is what happens in these times in the churches and yet there is still sin. We are comfortable in sin. Jesus says that ‘sin no more’.
As it is the healing service, your healing will start in you stopping to sin. Sin brings sickness. Maybe you want a breakthrough or you are going through health problems, or maybe you want that healing yet do not receive. What is an obstacle for you not to receive it?
Today I am saying that for you to receive your healing, ‘Go and sin no more’! I have heard it even when growing up even from those who preach the Word of God and are fathering others, they can stand boldly saying that it is not possible for a person not to sin. But today I am saying that it is possible. If Jesus Christ said it that ‘Go and sin no more’, it means that it is possible! We are the light. If you continue to sin you contaminate. It is like when you buy a globe and use it – at first, it is bright, then as you use it the brightness decreases. It is because the more you live in sin is the more your light fades. That is why when you are in the midst of darkness, it is able to overcome you because your light is contaminated by sin.
When Jesus said to the woman that you must go and sin no more, it did not mean that whatever she was tempted with will no longer be there anymore. He did not say that whoever she used to live with or be with won’t be there anymore or whatever challenges she faced won’t be there anymore. She was going back to her environment wherever she used to live. Whatever that caused her to sin she was going back there but the bible records that she must ‘go and sin no more’.
[James 1: 14-15]
“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.”
How do we conquer our own desires? Why do we have our own desires if we have the Word? If you have the Word you shouldn’t have your own desires. We always say that we live by the Will of God, so where does your desire come from? If you live by the Word and the Will then you should not have your desire.
[Verse 15] “Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death”.
To conceive is when a woman is pregnant and is carrying a fetus. Meaning it does not start by you seeing the sin, but it starts by conceiving it. It starts with your desires (when you have your desires and you are feeding them). When desire is conceived you will give birth to sin. It seems as though it is hard to live without sinning all because we give in to our own desires. We know that the Word might say this but your desires oppose the Word or the Will of God. When it is in line with the Will of God then you should not have your own desires. By your desires, it becomes conceived. So we should not give in to our desires. When you have your own desires you will give birth to sin.
Jesus was also tempted, as it says in [verse 14] “…but was tempted…” meaning that the temptations will be there just like that woman in [John 8], as Jesus said that ‘Go and sin no more’, she was still going back to the environment where she used to be. Just like us when we get born again we are not taken away but we live in the world and its systems. The way to conquer sin is if we do not give in to our desires. We say we imitate Jesus Christ and we say that He is in us, so if Jesus Christ was able to conquer and defeat temptation from the devil and responded with the Word then we can do it as well.
For you to receive your healing just stop sinning. Today we live in a way that we are comfortable in sinning. You are comfortable to an extent that you are able to sin then come and lead intercession, lead worship, and serve without being convicted and condemned.
[Romans 8:1]
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”
There is no condemnation to those who are in Christ, but that does not mean that you can sin and come back and say that there is no condemnation. You do not have an allowance to sin then come back again because there is no condemnation. There is no condemnation to those who are not walking according to the flesh. If you are in the Spirit, then there is no sin. If there is sin then it means that you are walking according to the flesh and there will be condemnation. You cannot say that there won’t be condemned whereas there is sin and you are walking by the flesh. If we live by the Spirit then it is possible to live without sin. Do not live comfortably saying that it is okay to live in sin as God forgives. Do not use that as an advantage that you can do whatever you want and go back and ask for forgiveness.
We live on this earth and there are systems and laws that are there, but we live according to the Spirit, then we are not governed by the law. The government can say that it is okay that when a person reaches the age of 18, they can now drink alcohol as it is legal. It can be legal but when it comes to the Spirit we do not work with what is legal or is allowed. If Jesus Christ, being God came in a form of man and lived like us, yet He was able to live till the time for his crucifixion without falling into sin then we can do it.
Now you are a new creature and you are born again and you took the form of Christ. Why can’t we live as He lived? Temptations will be there and you will still go back to that environment be it school or work. You will still meet with those people but what will you do?
Do you give in to your desires? Do you say to God that you were tempted and that God will understand? When it happens it happens but that should not be your living standard. There are people who have boldness in a wrong way. They are bold to sin and come back and stand in a holy place without feeling guilty or any sort of condemnation.
We are the new generation and we ought to change things. We need to make a change even for the generations to come.
Have you noticed that with children, even though you can teach them things and they grow up knowing that we go to church or you stop them from watching television and all, but later you hear your child swearing or lying about something? Why is it like that? Jesus came and overcame the world. Why do still have to struggle? We struggle in a sense that sin overpowers us from a young age. This is a new generation and things need to change. We need to make an impact in the world. How can we impact the world if you are the same as them? How can they see the light from us if we are still the same as them? We say we bear the fruits of the Spirit yet there are still some fruits of the flesh in us.
How can those who are of the flesh see and believe in what we believe in if we still carry what they carry? It is time to change as we are a new generation. Let us come to a point where when you have a child and they start to speak of another language, it is a teaching, the Word, or tongues. Let it be that when they meet an unbeliever they testify that they have changed and something has convicted them.
