‘FAITH IS YOUR VICTORY’-Part 2
March 9, 2021
“MIRACLES THAT ARE ABOVE WHAT IS COMMON”-Part 1
March 25, 2021A revelation is still a revelation in any form, it can come in a form of a rebuke. Therefore, we are obliged to comply with what God has revealed to us. This is a month of supernatural miracles, meaning, we are going to be elevated and blessed. God has entered into a month of blessings, we ought to be blessed.
As God will be blessing and elevating us, we should be careful not to be elevated with bad characters. Often when one is elevated, both good and bad things within them gets elevated. That is why we often say when a person is rich they have pride, but such characteristics have all along been there, it only became visible when they began to prosper. Therefore, we must do away with bad characters before they become elevated.
We must go deep into the grace in the New and Old Testament. We can distinguish between grace and the law according to our own understanding. However, there is only one thing that God requires from us and that is a pure and good character. Hence, there is no amount of grace or the law which can excuse the righteousness and purity which God requires from us.
God wants us to be pure and be like Him, He wants us to be Holy as He is. Be it that we criticize the law or grace, however, the end results we must be pure and holy. Often people excuse their iniquities through grace and shift their responsibilities because of grace. But truth is, grace does not make you pure when you are not pure, it does not make you right when you are not right or similarly with the law.
[John 1:15-16]
“Out of His fullness, we have all received grace, in place where grace has already been given.”
This statement outlines that there was grace before. Therefore, when Jesus Christ came, He did not come with anything new; there was already grace and He came with more grace. In the Old Testament, there was grace and when Christ came, He further granted us more grace.
With that said, in the Old Testament, the Israelites had a choice to either live according to law or grace. Christ was there from the beginning in the shadows, the Israelites had a choice between grace and the law. Although the law was introduced or practiced about 400 years ago, however in those years when the law was practiced there were righteous people. Question is, where did those people obtain their righteousness? This was from grace. Both in the Old and New Testament grace is there.
Grace does not condone bad characters but it corrects it. We have established that grace has all along been granted unto to us. As believers, we are choosy and we choose what will gel with our hearts and spirit, we even go as far as quoting scriptures that support our ways. Hence, we get churches that speak different messages but unaware that all these messages lead us to one thing which is Christ.
We conclude that certain acts fall under the law and make it an excuse to say they cannot be practiced in grace. Similarly, tithe began in the Old Testament in the days of Abraham and he also paid tithe to Melchizedek (see Hebrews 7:1-10).
However, tithe is not the law but how we brought it to the temple it is the law, how we bring tithe is regulated and that is what makes it the law. But the origin of tithe is not the law but it is grace that was given.
Often people say tithe is in the Old Testament therefore it matters not if they do not pay it in the New Testament and say it is grace, yet we want and we confess the blessings of Abraham who himself paid tithe. We continuously confess the blessings of Abraham are ours but do not want his works nor his character.
Seated around the table, Jesus broke bread and gave them wine. He said, “This is my body and blood” (see Matthew 26:26). He could have taken a mere tree or anything which could have represented the body and the blood, but yet Jesus took bread and wine because He is a priest in the order of Melchizedek. This means He believed in Melchizedek and believed in what happened in that valley.
We ought to believe in what happened in the valley if we are truly of God. In the book of Matthew 1, it explains the genealogy of Jesus and it began with Abraham, therefore if we do not believe in the works of Abraham then we do not believe in Jesus Christ. Similarly, we cannot believe in priesthood if we do not believe in Melchizedek.
This is a month of elevation and we cannot be elevated with bad characters. Often when I want to give to someone who suffers from an addiction, I have to pray first that they do not use the money to enhance their addiction; and with that said; it should not be so with you and God. When you have a bad character and every time God wants to bless you He becomes cautious due to your bad character because when He blesses you, you become blessed together with your bad character.
Often people pray for cars which will make it easy for them to go to and from, also to go to church but once they own those cars, they come to church whenever they like and also refuse to offer lift to their fellow brethrens, this means God has blessed them together with their bad seed. They were blessed with a character that was never purified and now it has matured.
We ought to be blessed with all Spiritual blessings, but it is not so because of our characters. Hence, we are blessed in only certain areas in our lives and not in all areas. We are not blessed in all areas of our lives, because it will seem like God is feeding the bad seed within us. However, before we can experience His blessings, we need to clean up and stop hiding behind grace, because by so doing; we are not acknowledging our wrongdoings.
Grace will not purify us, it is not the blood of Jesus, but we must clean up and do away with bad characters. Although grace came by Jesus Christ, it was emphasized by Paul, hence every time we discuss about grace we must consult Paul.
[Colossians 3:25]
There is no favor and you will not receive favor when you do wrong. Therefore, you cannot hide behind grace, meaning you have to face that bad character. Strength and grace will be granted once one acknowledges their wrongdoings. However, when you harbor and hide a bad character, it will grow, you will grow in anger. When you grow in the Word so does your character.
In the book of Malachi 3, it says, “Pay tithe and see if the floodgates won’t be opened”. We have moved with the floodgates “by grace” and have left tithing in the law. We preach the floodgates and sing about it but no song about tithe. Tithe is a command, therefore we are obliged to fulfill it. Let us not break the command. Therefore, if we do not want tithe, let the floodgates be closed as well.
There is grace in both the Old and New Testament, let us forget about the law because we must first understand what is the law. We have taken what God has spoken and made it the law. The Bible says the law came with Moses in the tablet of stones. However, the very tablets of stones which God wrote the commandments Moses broke them, thus he had to write them himself.
Henceforth, you must know there are commandments and the law, you should not confuse the commandments with the law. Because you will find yourself living in disobedience unaware, also note that disobedience matures with the Word.
[Romans 2:11]
When Paul said, “God does not have favoritism but yet grant us unmerited favor, what does it mean?” Grace is unmerited favor, however, there is where grace comes to your aid and there is where it does not work. For example, when you are newly born-again, God holds you by the hand but as you mature spiritually, God will not wake you up to pray but you should know when to wake up and pray.
Let us do away with the mentality of hiding once we have sinned, confessions helps and it brings you to the light. Certain thoughts will not cross your mind if you are in the light, even the mindset of saying you will be alone and read your own Bible. When you are in the light you won’t neglect fellowship. We ought to always be in fellowship with one another.
We confess the scripture Proverbs 10:22, “The blessings of the Lord makes me rich and He adds no sorrow to it” The blessings we are going to receive should not bring sorrow, but be blessed with joy and happiness. Do not allow a bad character to grow with the Word.
[Romans 5:6]
Christ died for the ungodly, He died for us when we were ungodly and powerless and He rose with us. We are no longer powerless but powerful and no longer ungodly but in-fact we are of God.
Therefore, God cannot die with us and yet arise with the devil. God cannot die for your ungodliness to merely raise with the devil. Therefore, with that said; let not the blood of Jesus go into waste but let us be cleansed and be purified, strength has been given. Let us be pure and holy as He is.
