‘WHERE ARE YOU?’

CHRISTIANS MUST HAVE JOY IN THEIR HEARTS!
January 31, 2022
[Daniel 1:1-17]
Wherever you are, set in your heart that you will not defile yourself. It says that Daniel purposed in his heart. Remember, he (Daniel) was chosen because of the wisdom he had. However, even though he knew that he was chosen he still purposed in his heart that he will never defile himself. Today I want people who will not defile themselves — Students to have that mind in the academic year of 2022.
The decision that Daniel took was against the orders of the king. He did not say that he will be in trouble, but he did not want to defile himself. He went against the norm of the kingdom – he was placing himself in danger. He could have died because of going against the orders of the king.
I want you as a student to have such boldness. The boldness to go against what they may say at the place you are studying at. As a Christian, you must have boldness not to defile yourself. You will not do things that other students are doing regardless of whether it will get you in trouble because you are born-again.
I want to pray for students who will say that they are going to set themselves apart, they are not going to be ordinary. They are not going to be the same as others. When you make a decision to live for God concerning school stuff and not compromise the Gospel, the results are not immediate. You just need to be patient. You can never be a head on a foreign island when you are compromising. What you have been taught, you start to master.
As I am praying for you, you are being sent out as sheep amongst wolves. You will be students in the foreign land where they have their ways of doing things and their ways might be not praying before they enter the classroom but you need to pray before you enter.
Let it be what we teach our children that before they do anything let them pray and ask God for wisdom. The Spirit of prayer is not taken away from you. We remain with the Spirit of prayer. You are the temple; you are the Church. Never study without praying. Let it be your habit that you pray before you study.
Without boldness as a student, you can never master. Do not enter the school premises without prayer. Never compromise. Daniel was never afraid. Sometimes when we walk with God, we are compromising but it seems that we are playing. You want to compromise in the name of popularity. We need the boldness that Daniel had.
The systems were changed. There is what the king gave them to eat, but because those said that they are not going to compromise, systems were changed because of them. Christians are compromising and are going to the level of the world and that is why systems are unable to change in schools. Salvation reigns more in students. If students can be bold again and be proud again then they will change in this world.
Parents, do not expect your child to excel in school stuff while you do not even know whether they are doing their homework or not. Do not put all the work on the teachers and expect your child to excel. All you need to do is pay attention to your children — Especially young and single parents, you are neglecting your children. Parents need to pull up their socks and pay attention to their children.
Prayer alone will not solve the problem. We are not raising another generation that will pray but does not study. You as a parent have the power to balance things in their lives.
Also, students, you don’t need your parents to push you to study or do your homework. If the parent does not do their work, do your own. Everyone needs to do their part. When the parent and the student do their part then we will see that we do not need expensive schools to see graduates. When we say that we can do all things through Christ, we study and excel even in our books.
Poverty is reigning because Christians are relaxed. School is not their thing. Tongues will not make you pass but tongues and studying will make you excel. When it is time to plant it is time to plant. Stop harvesting. You relax as if you have a bank account that is floating with huge funds. An illiterate Christian leaves the church because they are preaching about offering too much. We need the Spirit of Daniel on students. You need boldness like Daniel.
Being a nonconformist has a blessing. Daniel did not conform to the standard. Separate yourself and do not conform to the standard of the schools. God will give you the Spirit to be able to study. He will give you the Spirit of understanding and wisdom. Throughout your academic year, separate yourself. Do things in a Godly way. Do not allow anyone to look down on you. People can look down on you when you compromise and when you do not excel in your academics.
When you trust in the Lord when you pray before you study, you trust in prayer, God will make you understand. We do not study to trust what we studied. We study to be approved yet it is the Lord that we trust in. No student who is watching this service will struggle this year. Before you open your book or hold your pen, pray. Parents, teach them that before they put the knowledge of whatever they are studying, they must open a verse first. Teach them that.
This year, set yourself apart and see how God will bless you. Do not conform. Be proud that you are born-again. When other students are doing their things do not conform. Be unique. There is nothing wrong with being unique. Focus on your own thing. Enter in the classroom, kneel down and pray. Be proud of being unique. Do not conform to the standard of this world.
