Separate Among Brethren – Part 2
October 27, 2018The word is given, but laying up the word in the heart is up to an individual. When it is given, do you take the word and love? You alone know the answer. So you can read the word of God and yet not love what is in the word of God. Someone needs to fall in love with the word, so much so you even fall in love with what you do (in the house of God) that is how serving does not become a burden to you because it is the word in you that is at work.
There are those who use serving to pass time and there are those who love doing it, these people are those who don’t love positions because God is not a respecter of a man’s position. When God looks at them, He respects the love they have for Him, not what they do in their positions, so the position bows down to God.
[1 Peter 2:9-12], “and display the virtue and perfection of him who called you out of darkness into marvellous light.” But where does this start? In the heart, so if the heart is pure, what is on the outside will also be pure, the thing that makes the cup dirty is not the outer, but the contents of the cup; what determines if the cup is of demons or of God is what is inside. If the heart entertains demons, you are a cup of demons but if you entertain God you are a cup of God. Why did God choose us? Not for miracles and wonders but for us to display his virtues – this is purity at heart.
Verse (11) “I implore you as aliens, strangers and exiles in this world to abstain from the sensual urges, evil desires…the passions of the flesh”. You see, people do things because they love, it is in the nature of people to go all out for what they love. Judas went all out for money – that is what was in his heart. Therefore, his heart was not pure. Verse (11), “you are aliens to this world”, refers to the system, not the earth. The world is a system of how people who are unbelievers do things, so we are aliens unto unbelievers, we are not of this very world.
Verse (12), “…Conduct yourself properly, honourably and righteously among the gentiles…yet they may by witnessing your good deeds come to glorify God”. There are some people who can come to God because of the way you are. People have opened ministries and messed up because of how they live and do things! Your life itself is ministry, someone needs to take care of it, but it all starts in the heart. It starts by how you lay up the word in your heart. When your heart has the word of God in it, anything that happens to you is the desire of the word, not of the flesh, anything that comes and is not of God, the word cultivates.
How many of you continue watching things on TV, even when they are evil? There is no word in your heart! Because you love the entertainment that you keep on watching. When the word of God comes, it separates you from such things. How many of you keep company that gossips and speaks bad? It is because you love such, and your heart attracts it. When the word is not there everything can just come and plant, the media, friends, neighbours because there is space in your heart. When it is like this, it is not the word that prevails, there is no sword that can separate between the things that are of God and are not of God in you.
Some of you are Christians but you are counted among the stats of people who watch the things that are not of God, because of that, you are better tithers in TV than in church because of the programs you watch. The more you watch something, it is the more it is aired, the more it is aired it is the more it is produced. Therefore, in other words you sponsored some TV programs, you have given to the world more than you have to give the church, it’s even worse, you tithe (to the TV programs) every month but its aired Monday to Friday.
When you love something you can’t stop, even when God says this is not it, you can’t help yourself. Do not focus on the scope of the TV, I am speaking about broader things now, I am talking about many things that try to come into your heart to plant things. Your heart welcomes such because there is no word in you. There are things that enter in to your heart and cause you to disbelieve.
“Live as free people but do not employing your freedom as a pretence for wickedness“– see 1 Peter 2:16. Don’t use grace to cover your wickedness, the heart must be able to purify and set aside the things which are not of God. Two cannot walk together unless they agree in the heart. Your heart must always be pure; it must be the word that rules so that whatever comes which is not of God, the word must penetrate and eliminate. Don’t be that person whom every person tries to befriend, then they succeed, when it is like this there is no word that separates.
Look, there is a standard when Christ becomes formed in you, when things that are not of God try to come they are chased away. When people try to come to you, they can see that the language that you use is not the same as of the world and flee from you. Some people try to come close to you because your heart and their hearts are the same. Let your heart remain pure so God can rest; God can work miracles and open doors in a pure heart. No matter how many times you may pray, if the heart is not pure, God can’t work. How you think and what you love matters!
We are bond servants, we are changed by the gospel. Don’t you know the moment you go to prison your friends become few? When days are dark, friends are few”, this saying must not mean that things are not going well, but the thick dark cloud I am talking about being the glory of God you are covered in, must chase people away, surely those who were your friends before you were born again cannot continue being your friends now when you are in salvation.
Your heart must be able to separate even among brothers. While Judas is in your midst, you must walk with Jesus. There is something I love about the disciples; when Judas betrayed Jesus, he was alone, and also when Peter denied Jesus he was alone, so the other ten disciples were not in fellowship with each other but with Jesus, they knew (and don’t lose focus of the fact) that they came to follow Jesus, be able to separate yourself among yourselves.
Know your Father, you are not ‘’brothered’’, but you are ‘’Fathered’’. There are people whose serving is influenced by their fellow brother or sister, when that one’s serving becomes questionable, so becomes their serving. When the prayer life of the other is down, so is of the other, their souls are tied. A soul tie is when two people establish a covenant without an endorser (attorney), but love is when God has joined in the midst. It’s not soul ties, its God, as God is love.
There is a song that says, ‘’all of the other gods are the works of man, but you (God) are the Most High’’. Leave ancestors and leave the gods moulded with hands; the very same person next to you can be your work. Jesus says it, “do you not know that your law says ye are gods” – see John 10:34. You can find yourself being a god by allowing another man to teach you, when you are taught by ‘‘man’’, we find a man who possessed by another man.
God of the heavens is the Most High God, do not allow any man to make you a god by what they teach you. There must be purity at heart – the sword must be able to separate anything that is not of God. [Galatians 1:10], “Now am I trying to win the favour of men, or of God? Do I seek to please men”, ‘’…I should not be a bond servant of Christ the Messiah”. Some people still fall into sin because they are trying to please someone, they influence one another, when it is like that you are not a bond servant of the Lord, you are just a ‘‘Christian’’ by name; this is where we separate between Christians and bond servants.
The word ‘’bond servant’’, is derived from the word ‘’bound’’, you are a servant that is bound. And in this bondage you proclaim, ‘’where can we go, because the words that you carry are Spirit and life’’ – these words are our chains; the very chains of the gospel – see John 6:68. Some people fall because they are pleasing man, not God – they are just mere Christians and not bond servants.
When you are a bond servant you don’t just carry a sword in your hand but even in your heart too; when there is a sword in your heart you don’t just fall in love with anything or just walk with anything, you don’t just walk with any person nor do you just buy any car, any house, the Spirit leads you! Anything that is not of God becomes separated; you become attached to the feelings of God, what He feels, you feel also, what God hears, you hear. What God doesn’t want you don’t want either.
Some people don’t walk near you because God does not want them near you, because you carry a sword within you. The devil is very afraid of the sword, to substantiate this refer to [Genesis 3], when God casted Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden, He did not chase the serpent away, it never went out, there was a sword that kept the serpent inside the garden.
Where man was, that is where there serpent wanted to be. But because he was told, ‘‘you will eat dust … ’’, for that there was a sword between him (serpent) and man, there was separation – see Genesis 3:14. Only when the serpent is chased out of the presence of God in Revelation 12 that is when the serpent gained access to man, after he is then casted into the world.
When you have a sword in your heart, nothing that is not of God can enter because the sword protects you. If you have a sword but it can’t penetrate your enemies or the love of the world, you must know that the word is not in your heart. Someone needs to love the word of God! The moment you have a sword in your heart you are a bond servant, you are bound because of what you love.
When you are a slave you find yourself doing things that you don’t love doing because Christ loves them. When you are married to Christ, you get to understand that it is not about whether you love that department you are serving in but it is about loving Christ, you do not calculate whether you love to usher or not, all you know is that you must do the work of God.
When you are a bond servant you are bound, even when you want to let go, something pulls you back (the chains), even when you want to leave the gospel or backslide, the chains keeps you. When things are tough the chains keep you within the boundaries, you can’t let go.
There is a time where you get tired of praying, but because you are a minister you have to pray. Even when you dislike prayer you keep pushing in prayer. Even when you don’t understand the bible you continue reading it because you are chained. When you are a bond servant, you do things that you don’t want to do, even when you don’t want to dream or give anymore, you find yourself doing it because you are a prisoner.
We don’t serve because we have time, we fit our lives into what God has called us for. Even when I want to stay at home and I don’t want to come to Church the heart starts to separate (it deals with you as a person), the one born of the woman and the one born of God, then the one who is born of man follows – the will of the Spirit is imposed on the flesh.
[Ephesians 4:1], “…live a life that is worthy of the [divine] calling you have received “with behaviour that is credit to the summon of God’s service. I want you to note that it is not an ‘‘invitation’’, but a ‘’summon’’, to God’s service. When you are a prisoner, you find yourself doing things you don’t want to do. Some of you have responsibilities waiting for you at home but because you love you are here serving. If God separated a daughter from a mother in law, a father from a son, then you must know God has separated you from many things. Do not find yourself sinning against God in your heart.
One might ask, should I lose everything for God? If that be the case, so be it. Nothing shall separate us from the love of God, not angels, nor demons, neither life nor death. When you love God, you heart separates even revelations. How many people sin or go against God because of revelations? When you love God, the sword separates revelation; you are able to set apart the word and revelation. Let your heart be pure.
Let’s say it together: “I am a prisoner of Christ, I am married to Him. I am presented before the Father, my heart belongs to the Word. Let my sword separate everything that is not of God, everything that is not of God let it be taken away. Father consecrate me, make me pure, from my heart to my lips, from my eyes, to my ears. What I watch let it be pure, what I speak let it be pure. Those I walk with let them be pure, in Jesus name. Amen”.
God taking His presence away from you is punishment, don’t find yourself in a situation where everything around you is going well. but God is not with you. This message is for you today, God is telling you something, respond to the word of God, He is speaking to you. Allow me to touch your heart today, allow me to purify your heart today said the Lord.
YESHUA; A CITY ON A HILL, THE LIGHT THAT CANNOT BE HIDDEN!
