A TRUE ISRAELITE IS THE ONE WITHOUT DECEIT
July 22, 2022
COME AS YOU ARE
August 5, 2022[Ephesians 4:16-25]
There is a former life and the life you are living now. There is what you were and what you are now in Christ. The bible says: “we shouldn’t walk like Gentiles” meaning the way we used to live. A Gentile is a person who does not belong to Christ. When you are in Christ, you start to do things because you are in Christ.
There are ways that people in the world do things. Most times as Christians, we find ourselves changing in certain things yet not changing in things that seem normal. Do you know that it is not okay to be a woman or a man in Christ? Any person who is in Christ is a new creature, thus there is no longer male nor female, Gentile nor Jewish. When you are in Christ, you are Spirit.
There are things in our lives as Christians we should not allow to rule us anymore because we are of the Spirit, yet they are normal to other people. We are always led and kept by the Spirit.
(Verse 17)Before it can be in action; it is already in the mind. God calls it, in the futility of their thinking. It’s an issue of the mind but already it is categorized as futility. The word futility is used when there has been an event of danger, where lives have been lost. It will be futility in your mind the minute you live according to your former ways. The way they think is going to lead to death before they could even do anything.
A darkened understanding is the same as confusion. A man who is confused doesn’t have understanding, but it’s saying according to the Gentiles because they are darkened. In their understanding, it leads to futility. Most of us think when we do something that is when we are going to die. You think that if you kill someone that’s when you are going to hell. Many have killed people before they could even touch them, but have killed them in their minds.
Jesus said when you lust over a woman it is the same as you have slept with her. Adultery does not start when one enters into bed with someone else but starts when one can think about it in their mind, already there is futility.
What separates you from the love of God is your darkened understanding. You can think you understand, you can think you know, but that understanding is darkened; it blinds you, it makes you be separated from God, but this is only in your mind.
Before it can happen physically, it starts in the mind. You cannot be ignorant, and you understand. The more you ignore, the more you won’t understand because you do not have the whole information. They know all they want to know, not what God wants them to know, meaning they are ignorant of what the light is giving them. They chose not to hear what God is telling them, but they choose to hear what they want to hear.
You can come before Christ and choose what you want to hear. Paul says: “They were ignorant” meaning they ignored the truth and dwelt in what they wanted to know. It doesn’t start with impurity, it started in their mind and their darkened understanding, being ignorant of what is of God and it led them in living a life that is carelessness and leads them to death.
When you are taught, you are not taught while you are in pain. Hard moments are when you have to apply what you have been taught. Jesus doesn’t just start quoting scriptures; it means someone taught Him what He is quoting to the devil “Man will not live on bread alone” you cannot answer the devil like that while you are not taught. Yet, you can still be taught and still fail to answer like that because you are looking at the excruciating pain of hunger in your stomach, instead of looking at the teachings you have been taught.
Teaching is not meant to be applied only when it is nice, but they are meant to be applied when it’s hard. We do not expect a poor Christian to complain like a Gentile. What you are taught while you have, must keep you when you have nothing. What you were taught when you were healthy, must be what you apply when you are sick.
We become humble when we are dancing but when things are not going our way, we revoke what we have been taught and we remember who we were. How do you allow the old creature to deal with what you are facing?
A new self starts in the mind. Salvation is in your mind not in how you dress or speak. We know that when we become born again, we change how we dress before we eat; we pray but what about the mind? You can do the act without the Spirit that inspires the act.
You are a true Israelite, a man without deceit. “In anger do not sin” but this sin in anger is not in action but it begins in the mind. Many people sin when they are angry. When you see an angry person behaving sinfully, know that they have been sinful before they start behaving sinfully. Anger makes you think you lost the battle, with anger in your mind; you will fail in action. You need to conquer anger in your mind.
When God confronted Cain, He did not do anything yet, it was just Cain’s thoughts. God said to him “sin is crouching” sometimes that “crouching” is something that enters, and you are not even aware of it. You will think you are just angry but already you have been sinning and you are not even aware because sin has been crouching. God did not say Cain you are killing Abel. The sin of Cain did not begin when he killed Abel, it began in his thoughts, and God rebuked him in his thoughts to prevent him from killing Abel.
Anger puts on another face. People cannot be angry and be who they are, this is deceit at its highest level. Deceit is being two-faced; many have been two-faced because of anger. What anger knows is to sin. In anger, people make decisions, assume, conclude, and can’t hear and they teach their children how to be angry.
Anger is a powerful spiritual father. Anger is generational, people do not realize that the more they become angry, the more they create angry husbands and wives and angry human beings.
The anger that you display at home or anywhere is the anger that your children will inherit from you because this is a spirit. This spirit has been given a right through generations. Some spirits come and possess you but, they do not have a right to possess your children, yet some spirits are given authority to do that. When it comes to family, forgiveness shouldn’t be an option but a way of life.
In anger people sin, when anger comes in; it doesn’t allow the voice of God to be heard. Anger is an emotion that is inspired by evil spirits. How many of you have sinned in your anger? Before you can even do anything but because you were angry about something, you started cursing someone. How many of you have written off someone because of anger?
Don’t you know the love of God? Don’t you know the Spirit of God? Don’t you know what you have been taught?
How many times have you wronged God? but God still sees you as His son or daughter.
That’s what we need to teach our children; teach them that love and forgiveness are not limited to a situation. Have love and forgiveness in a way that you can even forgive a person who kills you physically not spiritually. Jesus on the cross said: “Forgive them Lord” it means that while He was on the cross, He had an insight, He became sensitive to the Spirit and started to understand why these people are persecuting and killing Him then He says forgive them.
Anger does not put you in another person’s position or make you understand another person’s position, but makes you understand your own position. Anger will always tell you about yourself, how hurt you are, how you have been betrayed, and how you are not loved. Anger will make you see things according to your ways and not according to another person’s ways.
A person who makes another person angry can make the next person angry. Anger will make you think you are the only one who gets hurt and you have never hurt anyone. This is the sickness of Christians. When it comes to anger, Christians are still the same as those who are not born-again. Rebuke in anger does not work. You may know that it is wrong, and you want to correct but the force that inspires the correction; do not correct people with anger.
Anger does not heal you, but anger makes you aware of your pain. It emphasizes the pain that you have felt. There is one thing that can save a person, it is forgiveness. You want to save someone, you want to change someone’s life? Forgive them and see the seed that you have planted. If there is no sin that God cannot forgive, and you do not forgive, you will find yourself angry with an anointed man who is walking with God because of the past.
Everyone has a past, and God overlooked your past. Do not act in anger. In anger, do not listen to other people because anger has a way of identifying its sons and daughters.
It’s either you gather in the name of Jesus or your anger, offense, or pain. The gathering is not only physically, it is spiritually as well so, what you agree with it’s where you are gathered. “Two cannot walk together unless they agree” you do not have to meet to gather, but you must agree.
Agreement of the spirit is not saying yes, agreement of the spirit is saying “I can hear you”. You can’t even rebuke them because what they are saying goes in hand with what you are going through.
Cain was able to come before God, and God tells him “There is sin crouching in your heart” Cain was speaking to God face to face, but with anger, no fire burned him, and no demon manifested. Deception doesn’t burn you, it cannot be cast out. Anger is something else again; after you cast out a demon of anger, a character of anger remains and the only solution to that is mastering it. God didn’t say, “Cain I will deliver you” He said master anger.
Do you want to lose the Father? Be who you were once before, then you will lose God. No teacher teaches and never tests you. He teaches you, then He tests what He has taught you. The only way to pass is to remember the teachings you were taught. [Matthew 4] says: “The Spirit of the Lord led Jesus to be tempted” but the right word there is not tempted, but it is He was led by the Spirit to be tested. The Holy Spirit is a teacher when He leads Jesus to be tested, while He was tested; the devil saw the hunger that was in Jesus.
The Holy Spirit was testing Jesus but when He was there; He was the one fasting and the hungry one, not the Holy Spirit. Now, the devil comes and tempts Jesus because of what is in Him. Because of the empty stomach; the devil says, “ if you are a Son of God, turn these stones to become bread” then Jesus responded with teachings: “it is written”.
Every test that is from the Father, the devil will bring temptation to it but when you read about temptation in the book of James it says: “You are tempted by what is in you”.
Temptation cannot come unless you have something in you. Jesus was not going to be tempted by turning stones into bread if He was not hungry, His empty stomach gave the devil advantage to tempt Him. I might test you and you end up being tempted and the temptation is not from God.
