‘ACKNOWLEDGE THE PRESENCE OF GOD’

‘HE WILL STRENGTHEN YOU’
November 25, 2020
2020 has taught us a lot. Since I have been in ministry, since Yeshua Ministries was established; I have emphasized how important serving is. Knowing God is not sufficient. Many people know God, I can say approximately 90% of people know God; but few have a personal relationship with God. A personal relationship with God can only be maintained when you serve Him.
I want you not to make a mistake because this is what I have seen throughout 7 years going for 8 years in ministry. This is not experience speaking, but one thing I have seen is that many Christians make the same mistake. This is where the devil hits and finds us. The devil uses the same weapon to destroy Christians, he makes them think that they can survive and carry on without serving.
Serving and fellowshipping keeps us. A sign that a Christian is walking with God is serving. You can never walk with God and be a “normal” person. Check in the Bible, every person who walked and had an encounter with God; had a mandate that God gave him. There was no way that they could have an encounter with God or be chosen, then live a normal life. They had to live for God and serve Him.
This is another thing that I have seen: the worries and cares of this world motivate Christians to stop serving God. I have seen this while I was at my father’s house and even now being in Yeshua Ministries. When they decide to “live their own lives” that is when they start to die. They become people who just know God and are not acquainted with Him.
I would like to encourage you that never stop serving and living for God. Let the lives of others teach you. Do not think that you will be able to survive whilst you see others failing. Learn from their mistakes. No matter how much you might get tired or discouraged, no matter how much you need to put bread on the table; never stop doing the work of God. This is what keeps us.
Every time I sit down as a minister, knowing the Word, I always ask myself where would I be if I was not serving God. What keeps me, is ministering to you. What keeps me is when I serve you. What can keep you is when you serve the body of Christ.
(Read Matthew 13:1-17)
One thing that Jesus taught the disciples when He was about to leave; He gave them a mystery. He took a bowl of water and washed their feet, then Peter wanted to wash Jesus; but He refused and told Peter that if He does not wash him, then he [Peter] will not be part of Him(Verse 8).
Peter then asked to be washed the whole body, and Jesus refused emphasizing that He needs to wash their feet. After this, Jesus spoke a mystery: “Do this to one another” – serve one another. This is the mandate, the commandment that people forget. Jesus gave us the mandate to serve one another(Verse 14).
As I am leading you to prayer, I am serving you. When you usher, you are serving me and others. When you lead in worship, you are serving us. When you are in the media department where you type messages, you are serving us. So we are serving one another.
(Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-25)
The function of the body is to serve one another. The eye looks out for the whole body. Not only does it look out for itself but looks for food that will nourish and benefit the body. It does not nourish the eye only. The eye will look out for the way so that the body is not in danger. The eye is serving the whole body.
It is easy for my feet to get hurt if I do not see. It is easy for something to come into my eye if my hand is not able to cover my eyes quickly. It is easy to get hurt if my ear cannot hear danger. It is easy for my eye to burn if my nose cannot smell smoke/fire. So each and every part of the body serves the whole body.
You cannot be part of the body of Christ and you do not serve. The Bible says that even those parts that you regard as nothing, are very important. They seem invisible or not important. For example, there is a part that people do not like talking about; because it is deemed disgusting. The ‘anus’ – people must understand that even an anus is very important in the body. It is the one that takes out and excretes every dirt that can harm the body.
You must understand that the very anus protects the mind, eyes, stomach, and hand. When there is no anus, there is no way bacteria will exist in the body and the body will be harmed. There is no way you can say that you are part of the body of Christ and you do not serve. Each and every part must do its part and serve the other parts.
What kind of a Christian are you, who wants to be served but cannot serve others? You want people to sacrifice their lives but you do not want to do the same. You want your hand to cover your eye when there is dust, but as an eye, seeing that you are walking straight into danger, you cannot show the body the danger.
We are the body of Christ, we need to serve one another. I need you, and you need me. If truly we are in the body of Christ, connected, and are truly members of Christ, then we will be seen by serving one another. Wash my feet, as I wash your feet.
Jesus did not say: “wash their feet” but “do this to one another”. It is everyone’s duty to wash feet. Serve! Let us serve each other. I am serving you today, the one who enables us to meet online is also serving us. The sound guy, graphic designer, or typist; they are serving us.
We are serving one another, that is how the body survives. If one part is not functioning, then the body becomes dysfunctional. We need each other.
I want you to remember this. I talked with one of my sons and he was telling me that he wants to be a normal person; not to serve but focus on God and his career. As we were praying, God tells me that it is impossible to be normal. No matter how much you become tired or need, never stop serving one another.
Love can never be selfish, it can never be all about you. Let us serve one another. I am leading you into prayer not because I am thinking about myself, but I am thinking of you. This is the most excellent way that Paul taught us.
Meditate on this. If you are no longer serving, you need to serve again. In your respective churches, you need to serve. There is no way you can be a Christian and not serve. Being busy with the work of God keeps us.
