May God find rest in you

[Joshua 6:1-26]

When God says we must pray we don’t ask why we should pray, when He speaks we take heed of His voice. He reveals Himself in the midst of prayer. When He draws you to Himself in the mountain that’s where you must just go and He will reveal Himself. Throughout this fasting and prayer, God has been speaking about building our character but another thing was blessings. If you still live like you are in 2019 you need deliverance. If you have been with us in this prayer, you are already in 2020. You do not need to wait to cross over, you are already there.

There is favour upon us that no man can abort. This favour is not only on finances, it’s everywhere. It does not matter if it is big, small, business, education or marriage, you will experience this favour. Deuteronomy 28 was promised upon the people of God but faded because there was no longer a nation until Jesus came to restore.

God says to Israel, if you take heed of My Word, I will bless you and everything you do will show the favour of the Lord and all nations will know that you are mine. All this was spoken with a condition, that if you take heed of My Word. Israel was a disobedient nation, it did not take heed of His Word.

There was a promise of God with Deuteronomy 28 but the condition was to keep the Word and they failed. We see that they failed in Hebrews where God says my promise still stands (see Hebrews 4:1). There is a difference between Canaan and the promise land. He promised them the rest but they could not enter because of disobedience.

[John 15:7]

When Jesus comes, He says anyone who takes heed of my Word I will abide in him and him in Me and whatever He asks will be granted. The minute we follow God’s Word, we become eligible to receive His promises. The promises of God have been waiting for the one who will hold on to the Word.

People backslide because the Word does not permanently abide in them. The Word cannot rest on just anyone, it can come and dwell in you but it leaves because it is choked by the worries of this world in you. In [Genesis 6:3] God says, My Spirit shall not rest with man forever, meaning it will come and go. For you to enter the rest, God has to enter first. You go to Genesis and see that it is recorded that on day 7 God rested and after that He gives Adam rest. If the Word of God cannot rest in you then you are not in the resting place yourself.

[1 Peter 1:10-11]

The Spirit of God in the prophets was pointing to the suffering of Christ, but this very same Spirit speaking through them was not resting upon them and because of that, that is why we know that Isaiah 61 was not fulfilled. It only got to be fulfilled when Jesus read that scripture in the synagogue. This means that there were prophets who were reading the Word of God, prophesying but the Spirit never rested on them. When the Spirit rested on Jesus, He rested. This means that He was toiling until 30 years because the Spirit had not rested on Him.

[Hebrews 4:1-16]

There is a promise of entering His rest and then there is where Jesus says to His disciples, do not worry, go and wait in Jerusalem and the promise will come upon you. There are two promises here, one that comes upon you and the one of entering His rest. When the Word rests on you that’s when you enter the rest of God. You cannot enter the rest of God until the Spirit of God or the Word rests on you.

The Word they had, never profited them. It was like they had a seed planted yet there was no fruit. The Word did not find a resting place in them and because of that they could not find the rest of God. After the waters destroyed everything Noah sent a raven and then a dove. When the raven came back it means there was no resting place and then it came with an olive, meaning there was hope and anointing and when he sent it again, it did not come back meaning it has found a place of rest. When the dove rests then there is no fear.

Adam can only rest when God rest. The rest of God is believe and not toil. The work of God is to believe, to this day the Father works, meaning He speaks and things happen, He does not toil. The Word finds rest in you when you mix it with faith. This is the evidence of things hoped for. If your mind is still full of the world then the Word cannot find rest. You don’t have to only receive the Word but also act in faith by fixing your mind on things above.

[John 15]

These people received the Word and it washed and made them clean. How is this possible that these people were washed by the Word yet it had no resting place? They were given the Word but still needed to abide. He says abide in me and I in you. We always want to abide in God but is He finding rest in us? He needs to rest in you for you to enter the rest. Deuteronomy 28 blessings are yours only if you are resting in God, not outside of Him.

When God finds rest in you as a house, then you are truly favoured. God is not dwelling in you because of circumstances but favour. He chose you among many houses because there are many people he can dwell in but He chose you instead because you chose to be absent minded from the world. While you where supposed to be worried about the world you were focused on Him.

Do not let God ask you a question that Hannah was asked, Am I not better than your 10 children? This is what this fasting has been about. God has been better than food and because of this I would rather see Him only. The Word, prayer must fill you the way physical food fills you. This is what God wants you to learn. When you do not eat, you do not need to be in a position where you feel hungry. It says that after 40 days and 40 nights Jesus felt hungry, meaning that prayer and fasting did the same thing as fish and bread could do. You can never be tempted by food because your food is the Word. It is time where when we speak the Word of God your stomach gets to be full. This is literal.

How many people were in fasting and the moment they thought of food they were attacked spiritually? This is because when they ate the Word, their minds still said they were hungry. Every tree in the garden was the tree of life. It is time when you hold your plate God says it is the Word. Enter the rest because the Word abides in you and when it is like this, whatever you think of it is right, is pure. This is the favour that God has given us, to dwell in us. When God says it is a year of favour it is not January to December, once you attain this it is forever. God will dwell in us forever, you will be prosperous forever, even physically.

You have been praying, aborting everything that is of this world out of your system. Now God can come and rest in you. These three services are the services of celebration, this is what God is saying. All along, while they were in the desert they were fasting and praying but when they were about to enter Canaan they had to sing and dance. You are entering the rest with thanksgiving. God is resting in us, it is time you rest in Him.
