RECEIVE THE CONSUMING FIRE
January 18, 2023ETERNITY VS IMMORTALITY
January 22, 2023[Galatians 1:6-10]
One thing I have realized from reading most of the scriptures is that when God speaks of a false doctrine, He always says that they are deviating from the Gospel of grace. This means that any other gospel that does not come with grace. Other doctrines do with, “Don’t do this, don’t touch”
(Verse 6) “Deviating to a different gospel”, means this is still the Gospel yet it is another gospel. But there can never be an opposite of the Gospel, it becomes the law.
(Verse 8) I like that Paul says, “even if we should preach to you a Gospel contrary to that which we preached to you”, Paul is putting it in a state where He is saying that even he can be deceived as a man of God. A sign of a deceived man of God is when they think that they can never be deceived. A minister who always thinks that he is correct in everything is the one who is deceived because they have no room for correction. A man who can’t be corrected is a man deceived.
Look at how Paul was saving the church. That is why every time I stand in front, I say that if you see me leaving Christ, you must leave Yeshua ministries. The words that I am teaching are the very words that Paul was teaching in his church. This is a safe church to fellowship in and a safe Gospel to be under.
A man of God who can’t tell you to leave him when he deviates is a man of God who is very dangerous because they can deviate, and you’ll always see them as perfect. The verse says, “If we preach another gospel from what we have preached”, it means that it is possible for the man of God to change from what they were teaching to another teaching. It means that I can preach the truth today and preach not the truth five years later.
To those that didn’t end well, it doesn’t mean that they didn’t begin well. Paul says, “Even if we…”, he is the one who preached first, meaning that he is the one who laid the foundation yet he knows that he can still deviate from it while he laid a foundation. He also says, “I will safeguard the work that I have done”, not “Those who follow me”, meaning, I will protect the Word and not myself. By Paul saying this, he has put himself in a vulnerable position where everyone can leave him when he deviates.
(Verse 9) I don’t know if many of you have realized that some men of God are cursed. In them being cursed it is not because they have stopped preaching, but because slowly or every day their message is deviating from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I like it in NLT as it says, “Anyone who speaks against what Jesus has spoken”, meaning that what Jesus has spoken can never be turned aside. No revelation can come and change what Jesus has spoken.
(Verse 10) We are not here to please but to preach the Word of God as it is. It is not a matter of pleasing people but setting them free. What is binding people is not demons, yes there are people possessed by demons, but religion is what is binding people.
There is no other sin that we should come up with other than the ones that the Bible say is sin. A time is coming when some ministers will start ministering that it is sinful to get married yet marriage is created by God. Some people will say that it is sinful to have one wife. These are doctrines coming out and contradicting what God has given and taught us. They come as though they are a revelation that is progressive and unpacking the Word of God, yet it is not.
When they say do not-do not, it seems like wisdom is being applied yet it is not wisdom. Some of the revelations when they come, and they are applied – it is wisdom itself being manifested.
It is like when I instruct the church to come with umbrellas to the next service when God reveals to me to instruct you to do so, and it rains on that service. Then I ask the church to bring umbrellas the next week also and they do so, and it rains again. People then begin to say and trust that indeed that man of God can hear God and He has wisdom, he told people to bring umbrellas and it rained.
Now because of the revelation received from God, people look at it and say I am applying wisdom as a man of God. The issue comes when one church member does not bring an umbrella to church, and I cast him out saying that they are disobedient. This means that bringing an umbrella has become a religious deed.
Every religious deed began with God speaking.
God told Joseph to advise the king, but it was not enforced in other countries. Other countries may take the advice or not. The minute it is enforced it is religion. Religion is another doctrine, and you have moved from grace.
When one claims wisdom that has been given to him for himself, it is religion. When wisdom becomes the voice of God or when wisdom silences or shuts down the voice of God it becomes religion. God doesn’t want to be silenced. No matter what He gives you, He wants to continually speak.
(Verse 11) The Gospel must reveal Jesus Christ, if it doesn’t then it is a problem.
[Colossians 2:20-23]
You died in regulations of the world and now it seems like you are entering into another revelation. Regulations come with the do and not(s). Remember that we are not kept by, “Do not commit adultery”, “Do not murder”, or “Do no lie” we are kept by “Love your wife”. I wouldn’t commit adultery if I love my wife, committing adultery would be a sign of not loving my wife. Me killing someone would be a sign of not loving my neighbor.
Love has fulfilled it all, and all have been knitted in love. “Do not- Do not” can never keep us, but love can keep us, hence I said that love wins. Love speaks millions of words.
These things look like wisdom being applied; religion looks like wisdom, but this wisdom is overwriting the voice of God. Religion makes you neglect the body of Christ, not the church. Religion saves the church and takes care of the church whilst the body of Christ is being neglected- the church is saved at the expense of the body.
Grace teaches you to say no to sin and not to the law and regulations. It is not a sin to drink coffee with sugar, but if I put a law that you must drink coffee without sugar because when you drink coffee with sugar it would be a sin, then there would not be grace that will teach someone to say no to drinking coffee with sugar. In everything that God expects us not to do there is grace given to help and to save you so that you don’t do it by your strength but by the Spirit of God.
When the law has been put (“Do Not-Do not!”) and there is no grace to cover that, then many die because grace must be given. Whatever the Word wants you to do goes against the flesh. When the law and regulations are put in place, but they don’t do anything to the flesh but instead enhance the flesh, then something is wrong.
Ask yourself this, in whatever that is put, is it stopping you from sinning or causing you to sin more? Also, has the flesh found opportunities to sin? Religion allows a person to indulge in the flesh more and more. Where there is religion sin abounds and people die eventually.
What causes one to be religious, putting a law and saying, “You shall not…”? Let us start with Moses. It is a fact that Moses had a weakness, and this weakness was anger.
[Exodus 32:1, 9-18]
Realize something here, Moses is speaking to God face to face, he has been in prayer and fasting for 40 days and he heard God speaking to him. Some weaknesses will hit you right from the presence of God. (Verse 9) While God was with Moses on the mountain and in the glory, in a thick dark cloud the secret place, in prayer and fasting, God start seeing that the Israelites are busy worshiping idols.
(Verse 11) The reason Moses pleaded with God is so that the Egyptians won’t laugh at him. He fears what they will say after all he’s done in their presence. But if God kills them in the account of Moses, then it is not a problem. God wants to kill them because they are worshiping another God and not because they touched Moses in a wrong manner. Moses refuses because God wants to kill them on his account. Moses is protecting himself, not the Gospel/God.
Moses got angry when He heard about the war of the Israelites sinning. Moses doesn’t care about the Word, but he is all about himself. Did he expect to find a welcoming singing from the Israelites? Remember the Israelites creating the golden calve were replacing Moses and not God, see verse 1. Now Moses is angry because he is being replaced, and they have someone to sing to and it is no longer to him, but they are now worshiping a golden craft.
The problem with the law and religion is that when you break man’s law, man protects, fights, covers, and defends the law which he has placed, and you are not sure if he is defending what God has said. Moses told the Israelites to kill their companions saying that it was of God, and the Bible says that they did according to Moses’ word, and it didn’t say, “according to the Lord’s command”. It was personal for Moses and whenever it is too personal, judgement gets clouded. Moses killed people through his ministry of anger.
[Matthew 23: 1-7]
The same spirit of Moses is reigning in the Scribes and the Pharisees. The way that Moses judged when the Israelites were dancing to the golden calf is the same way the Pharisees judged when Jesus was in the council. The judgment of feelings and anger might be correct in other things, yet it is wrong in what is from God.
The anger of Moses that made him kill people in Exodus 32, and brought the “do not….”, we see that it goes in parallel with what God wants, for example, “Do not worship other foreign gods”. But when Jesus comes they are not able to identify the voice of God. The Pharisees thought that Jesus was making Himself God, yet He was God, the same way that Moses was thinking to himself that the Israelites have made themselves another God.
It was the same judgment, anger, and feelings, and they missed what was from God. The Pharisees are sitting on Moses’ seat! Moses sat on a seat said let the people die when they worshiped a golden craft, and the Pharisees sat on the same seat and said let Jesus die.
Methods of religion will make you destroy, reject, and kill what is of God because you don’t go with the voice, but rather go with the methods. Saying that all who marry through dreams it is not from God puts a method in place beyond the voice of God, which is religion- because if God were indeed to come in a dream to one person regarding marriage, then it would not be regarded as of God.
Love is beautiful because it saves, you will never go wrong with love. It is the person who is loved who goes wrong if they were not genuine, they become victims of their deception.
What makes men continue putting burdens on other people is that they do not put themselves in the shoes of those people. God sympathizes with us by putting Himself in our shoes. Even Jesus was made to change His mind and give food to dogs when He looked at the situation because He started in the situation. Before you pray for someone who doesn’t have bread and tell them that God is with them and not give them anything, put yourself in their shoes.
Moses should have sympathized with the Israelites and put himself in their shoes. Putting yourself in somebody’s shoes means that you understand where it is coming from and how they need help. For you to understand that an abuser is a victim also you must put yourself in their shoes. People don’t just wake up and become evil, everyone has their reasons even though the reasons may not be valid but remember that we don’t see things the same way.
Forgiveness and love are very important. Don’t judge an abuser, because all that they could have known in their life is that a woman needs to be hit, he starts thinking that it is the correct way. Mercy, God is not saying that the reasons must continue to push us to what we were doing but is saying that He will understand your reasoning and teach you to say no.
[John 5:34-46]
When you don’t know the voice, you will start by saying that this is not from God. If you know men and you don’t know the voice, you will not hear when the voice of God is speaking, because all that you know is the voice of men. I did not teach you to know my voice but to know the voice of God so that when the voice of God starts to speak in another person, you can identify and discern it.
They were asking for bread saying Moses had given their fathers bread because all they know is Moses, but Moses was not the one who had given them bread. When one comes in their name, building their empire and legacy, it is easy for people to receive, but one who comes in the name of God, they don’t receive him because they don’t know the voice of God but only know the voice of man.
Never know my voice but know that of God because when you don’t know the voice of God, if I were to die which voice would you then remain with? God can take me anytime and when He does, will you remain with the voice of God?
People would rather walk with one who is attested to man and not walk with the one who has an attest of God. Seek the approval of God and not that of man. Never be deceived by many people agreeing with one another. People’s judgment is clouded at most, do not flock with the birds because you have the same feathers. Man seeks man’s approval, yet God’s approval is best. An influential man’s voice does not overwrite God’s voice. Also, an influential man’s voice can never always be correct.
As a man of God respect what God says to the members and not curse them. There are times when God can tell you something and not tell me and I respect that. As a father, I must ensure that what you say God has told you is truly from God by asking if you are sure, but I can never come and say that it is not God. God can choose to not disclose it to me.
It was God’s choice to appear to Marry and not to Joseph. He only appeared to Joseph later, and Joseph never disputed that it was God. Joseph wanted to stay away from the engagement but never overwrote what Marry heard by saying that it is not from God. Be careful because the moment you say it is not of God, God won’t come and tell you that it is Him because already you have judged and said it is not Him. Rather stay away and say that you don’t know whether it Is God or not.
It is not time that will tell but the Spirit will testify because time tells of what is of the flesh, but the Spirit testifies what is of it. Time didn’t tell when Jesus was resurrected but the Spirit testified. I fear what God tells someone in the secret place, so I don’t want to overstep it.
Do not bring judgment because the measure of judgment is the measure of judgment you will receive.
David said, search me Lord because inwards there are somethings that I have become sinful of but I am not even aware. If a man can sin at that level where they are not even aware that they are sinning, then by judging people of what they are aware of, then you will be judged that you were not aware you were committing. Rather not judge but leave it for God. I don’t agree with the doctrine of judgment.
Going forward, be of the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of grace, and love. Let this message teach you to forgive your families, your brothers, and those who have hurt you including pastors that have hurt you. Let this message teach you to forgive and forget such that when you meet them you greet them with gladness. The greatest weapon is love.
