THE FORMER AND THE LATTER RAIN’

 

 

[Joel 2:22-23]

 

The former and the latter rain will rain at the same time. Remember the former so you can experience the latter, hence I taught you about the covenant of Abraham and David. The covenant of Abraham is blessings, prosperity, and God moving with us as we fill the earth and multiply it. The covenant of David is rulership, kingship, and authority. It is power and a temple moving in signs and wonders.

 

Whenever healing was needed they would confess that the son of David have mercy on them.

 

We need to remember the covenant of Abraham and David for it is the former rain. There was a time where rain poured in Zion(Jerusalem) the city of God. It rained down in the days of Abraham and David. We remember the rain and we are crying for the latter rain as the Lord has promised that we are going to receive the former and the latter rain at the same time.

 

What happened in their lives, let it happen to us even more.

 

The Lord has said that He is not going to leave us alone but with the Holy Spirit. So whatever He has done we will do, and even greater. You will do the former and the latter. When the former rains, you will also do what I have done. People have been praying for the latter yet they weren’t remembering the former.

 

People want immortality but they cannot raise the dead. They want to heal HIV/AIDS but they cannot heal leprosy. You need to remember the former. If we can do what they did, then we are capable of doing what they have not done.

 

(Verse 23) He has given us the former rain and I have seen it with Abraham, Enoch, David, Elijah, and Elisha. I have seen it with Ezekiel, Isaiah, Deborah, Paul, John, Jesus, and the men of the old. So now Lord, do it in my time; the former and the latter together.

 

I have quoted rich and powerful men, so we have covered spiritual things, finances, and the acquiring of land. We covered ministry, marriage, and education. So all is covered therefore let it rain.

 

(Verse 23) The first part is the past tense and the second one is the promise. We should not rejoice because of the promise or we see something in our lives. We need to rejoice because it has happened with the men of old.

 

When I read about Abraham, how wealthy he was, I must rejoice. I must not wait for me to be a millionaire so that I can rejoice, but as I see it in Abraham, I must celebrate the former so I can experience both the former and the latter.

 

I must celebrate the former even though it has never happened in my life. God says that rejoice Zion. The sower and the reaper will rejoice together. Let us rejoice with them for we will cause the former and the latter to rain on us. What happened to the men of old will happen to us.

 

You rejoice because you got a promotion at work whereas you should have rejoiced when you heard that Joseph went out of jail to become an advisor. He received a promotion, therefore celebrate his promotion so you can experience it as well. Celebrate the former so that the same power may be at work in you.

 

When God calls you Zion it means that this is His new Church (wife). This is not the mountain you can locate geographically, it is in the Spirit — a place called there.

 

The Lord has given you the former rain faithfully and not them. This means that in Zion, it is you and them as one. Rejoice for He has given them the rain faithfully.

 

[Zechariah 10:1]

 

Ask (hunger, thirst and seek) for the rain. When you do not ask it will not happen. It needs to happen from within and also outside. Before you speak, there must be something that happens in your heart.

 

You must be like a farmer who has planted and stands at the door and observes his farm. After observing he realises that he has to change his focus because looking at it will not change it — he now starts looking up. He looks for the clouds.

 

There had to be hunger in the smallest cloud even though it could not cover the whole area. Where there is hunger and thirst, God supplies. God says that He did not come for the rich because they are not hungry. Those who think they are gifted and anointed, are not hungry because they think they have it in them. Before your belly can flow, you need to ask.

 

They came to Jesus after He performed miracles and asked Him what must they do to be able to do that. He answered them and said they should believe. Believing is your hunger because you do not believe only when you see. You believe that you will be healed while you are sick. You are hungry and thirsty for your healing. You ought to be hungry for your deliverance and prosperity.

 

I will not rest until I get my millions, I will not even act humble about it.

 

If being rich is one not being humble, I will not be humble. Every time I pray, I ask for His mind and heart yet I will not feel guilty about asking Him to be rich. I am not poor and I will never be poor. When God formed me in my mother’s womb He knew I was going to be rich and He placed this hunger and thirst, so I will not be guilty about it.

 

I have big dreams and visions. I tell Him what I want. Maybe when you ask you tell Him that even though you can eat bread crumbs it is fine, well that can be your faith but that is not my faith. I know that grace and mercy takes a person from the muddy road and places them on a golden street. It will position one who was down and place them on the table. It is either you settle for being a dog or you become a son.

 

Eating crumbs can be the greatest faith to someone, but not me. When the Lord says He has never seen such faith, it is according to your surroundings and not all. To your kind, I have never seen such faith. You ask for bread crumbs, He says He has never seen such faith because someone has asked to sit at the right hand of the Father.

 

Those who are happy to be employed continue as long as it brings peace. Yet salary will not bring peace to me. It is important to not try to be me but yourself. My dreams, vision, and prayers do not give me a job. They make those who want to employ me think twice.

 

Some are happy as long as they are married, but I have bigger visions. The money I want does not allow me to drive any normal car. Every time I hunger, I remember the former and how Abraham was rich. There is a difference between the wealthy and the rich.

 

I want to be wealthy and be able to build a church. You need to ask and hunger, and also celebrate because you cannot hunger for what has not be celebrated. People are hungry for marriage but they have never celebrated the marriage in the Bible, that is why they have wrong wives and husbands — they first date before they get married because they do not know the former.

 

How do you celebrate Isaac and yet you date for ten years while Isaac never dated? God says He will bless us with the former and the latter — Let us first see the former. If there is no hunger and thirst then rain can never be supplied. We know how to hunger and ask, that is why we are supplied.

 

[Deuteronomy 11:11]

 

You must first remember the former, then be hungry, thirst, and seek. You must obey His commandments. In your asking, never deviate from the Word and His commandments. Remember and rejoice in the former.

 

There are scriptures when God writes them, He wants them to be relevant even in your times. The commandment will not be what is written in the Bible. When God says go and kneel down and pray, that is the command. There is nowhere it is written that you ought to go to your bedroom and pray.

 

I always say that when I am not sure about the voice of God or I have heard it but I have disobeyed then be merciful on me God because I have a father. What the father commands, I will never miss [or fail to hear] it. If you want to tell me something and I miss it in dreams or whatever, please have mercy on me because I might be doubting the voice of God. The voice of God comes out in many trumpets but there must be one trumpet that is your father, that when he has spoken you become sure of it.

 

If you are not serving then you are not counted. The first command that man was given is to serve; to keep the garden. You cannot be a Christian and not serve. As long you go to church yet you are not serving just know that you are not saved. The Bible says that you ought to love your God with all your heart and all your soul. You need to serve Him.

 

The evidence to show that you are not in the presence is when you do not serve. When Adam had the presence he was serving. When he went out he stopped serving.

 

Whenever you are confused just go back to the beginning. See what happened in Genesis when men were with God, they were able to serve, take care. You are taking care of the Kingdom of God when you are serving in the church. When the garden is not taken care of, then there is no tree of life. When there are no people serving then there is no message that is preached. How can they believe unless someone is sent? When someone is sent we are all sent to preach.

 

Though there is one speaker, we are all preaching. The richest people in the Kingdom are the ones who serve and yet are not noticed. The most important parts of the body are the ones who are despised.

 

People clap hands when I minister yet they do not know what happens behind. Love your Lord today, with all your heart and all your soul. God knows that you need to be busy, you have responsibilities today but still, you need to love Him and serve Him with all your heart and soul.

 

There is no excuse that you can tell God, that you still have to go to work. For instance, imagine Peter had to leave his boat and fishing net for him to follow, yet you fail for just an hour.

 

Who has bewitched you and told you that your life is too busy for God? You are a son because you serve. When you do not serve you are a spectator. It gets too hard when you were to show that the devil has something to fight you with. For someone who does not serve, the devil is not scared of them.

 

Work in the temple and be like the son of Eli, you will be a target. Hence you see that those who are serving, sin because they are attacked a lot. When they fall they go in too deep. Being a target does not mean you must stop being a son. I will not be a slave to peace because there are no attacks. I am the son of the storm rider therefore I ride along in the storm. I will serve even though I provoke witches.

 

Those kinds of Christians shake the dark Kingdom. Your offering does not do anything to the dark kingdom. The devil is not scared of money, but the one who serves. A person who serves is a danger to the dark Kingdom, in as much as it is a danger but serving keeps you.

 

The biggest problem is that when people get offended they leave the position. For instance, daughters can be fighting with their mother, yet because of anger, one decides to leave and the other stays. So they both faced the same situation yet yielded different results, hence one stays and the other leaves. To the one who stayed, it is easy to be restored because when anger fades away they are able to be restored, but with the one who left they still need to come back. No matter how much you can be challenged or offended, never leave your position. It is best to be offended whilst in your position yet it is hard when you have left.

 

It is no longer the days of Adam, for we are not taken out of the garden but we live in it. So when they stop you from serving you are not taken out of the church, but you remain. The hardest thing for men was to go back. People talk about repentance and being born again. Even now people still struggle to set their minds from above. The hardest is going back, so never leave.

 

There was a time I wanted to leave the church together with those who were leaving. Some things you will be offended by them. Many things could have caused me to leave, but I remained. You even sit and say to yourself that you know the revelation. So staying keeps us and when restoration comes it finds you still connected. Let the Spirit of restoration come upon you while you have left and see how hard it is to connect. People wait for restoration while they are outside and that is what makes it hard. They feel the pressure and they think they are not welcomed.

 

It is better to sleep in church while you are connected than to go home to sleep. We are connected to God. Serving must begin in the heart and soul for the flesh gets tired. The Bible did not mention the ones who knew God and yet they were never used by God. Serving is walking with God. God walked with them and confirmed the message. Working and walking with God means serving. You need to walk with God. God did not preach so you can sit but for you to serve. All preached as they had their mandate, and yet you want to be a son of the Unknown and not serve. People who serve respect each other’s service, they do not hear the message from their own work. They understand each other’s messages.

 

We serve one another as we wash each other’s feet. We must excel at that. People want to eat and not serve. They expect me to serve them as I minister yet they do not want to serve me as well.

 

Remember the former, hunger, thirst, seek and ask for the rain. Obey the command – which is to love, and it is a command for today. There is no sufficient reason that can excuse you from not serving. Whatever work you do at your work you need to also do in the house of the Lord. Serve the Lord as there is something that you can do. If we can all serve, people will not be tired from the work. There must always be room for correction and repentance.
