THE OIL THAT PROTECTS AND CONSECRATES

[1 Samuel 9:6-20]
When the prophet said, “go tell them to look as the rain is coming” and the man looked and couldn’t see anything he just saw a small cloud and he started to doubt. So who was at fault? It was not the man of God but it was the man and what he saw. A prophet doesn’t speak because there is physical evidence, he speaks because he hears from God. So, it says here “there is a man in the city not just a man but a man of God and whatever he says comes to pass”.
Saul understood the prophetic because of what he was told that there is a man of God and whatever he speaks comes to pass. He says “now if we go to him, what are we going to bring?” Meaning we cannot go to him empty handed we need to have something, that’s what we call prophetic offering. It might look like prophets or man of God are the same as witch doctors. The difference between a man of God and a witch doctor is that when you go to a witch doctor you are charged but when you go to a man of God it is about what you have, and also value doesn’t matter. The thing is that you must not go empty handed. So, Saul wanted to give bread.
It’s not about the value but you must bring something. It must be a gift and a gift is not demanded. Prophetic offering can never be charged. You can never say you want God to do something and yet you need to bring one thousand. Also, prophetic offering is not limited to money. Saul wanted to give out bread. Saul ended up giving with money because there was no bread.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s money or bread, as long as its prophetic offering. It’s a gift from you to the man of God, as you are honoring. That is why it says that there is a man of God and he is honorable. So honor him and whatever he said must come to pass.
What’s nice about seers and prophets is that they know beforehand. God shows them before you can meet them. So, to them it’s not a surprise that you are here.
Samuel was not offended that Saul didn’t see him as a prophet. Some become offended when you pass them even though you ask to see the man of God. They see it as being despised. Men of God are humble. Don’t go and say the anointing is sensitive whereas it’s your heart that’s sensitive. Many prophets tell you the anointing is sensitive, but you find it’s their heart that is sensitive. Only because they want to be recognized and want to be given praise. It doesn’t work like that.
Samuel was not called a man of God. Samuel was called Samuel not man of God, not prophet of God, but he was not offended. This didn’t change what God wanted to do in Saul’s life. One thing I wanted to make you aware of is that before you go to a man of God, make sure you have a gift, that is important. Secondly, remember when I taught you about the perfect Will and the permissible Will. We have the perfect Will of God and the permissible Will of God. Saul was not the perfect Will of God but the permissible Will.
Israel cried and wanted a king, God started to bless them with Saul but what made Saul to fall or for him to be rejected as a king is not because he was a permissible Will but it was because of disobedience. You might be praying for something that is not in the Will of God to you, all that it needs for maintenance is obedience. The minute there is disobedience, it is taken away. There are some things today you are going to get them. Even though they were not in the Will of God but you are going to get them. Maybe you were not supposed to get a car now or you were not supposed to be restored spiritually now, maybe it was supposed to happen next year, but because you are in this service, there are things that are going to happen as we declare as you have that anointing.
What you are going to receive today, maintain it with obedience to the Word of God. When God gives you something He will also instruct you how to use it. God doesn’t just give you so that you can use it the way you want. He will instruct you how to use it. It doesn’t mean when it is in your hands it is for you to use it your way. Allow God to always guide you.
[Matthew 26: 6-12]
(Verse 12) So the women came with the oil and anointed Jesus but when she anointed Jesus the bible says she prepared Jesus for burial. God said to me today that this very oil is the one that caused resurrection. Without it, there was no resurrection. It was their custom that when someone is dead, they anoint them and they go with perfumes and spices, but this one was different. Remember we do not have the Gospel without resurrection. So the Gospel is active and alive because of resurrection. If Jesus died and never resurrected today, we were not going to preach. We are preaching because there was resurrection. Our main message is birthed by resurrection. That is why the bible says, “this woman wherever the Gospel is preached she will be there”. How will she be there? It is because she prepared the body for burial. It might have looked like it was for burial, but it was not for burial but it was for resurrection.
That is why I said take out your oil, today there will be resurrection. There are things in your life that are going to arise with the very same fish oil that when you put on eggs, they don’t become alive they even die further. With the very same oil that when you cook with it, it doesn’t bring life to that meat. The oil that she was anointing Jesus with, was used to anoint the dead to preserve their bodies but there was no resurrection.
With Jesus it was a different story. When the Spirit was looking, it had to go where the oil is. If there was no oil, there was not going to be any resurrection. Today I am here to tell you that the Holy Spirit shall be where the oil is. Where the anointing is, the Spirit shall be. So why was Jesus anointed? It was a mark, so that the Holy Spirit may know which graveyard to go to and which body to raise. Where oil is, there must be resurrection. Today am speaking to dead things. Today am dealing with things which are dead. If your career is dead, it shall become alive. If in your finances, there is death, there shall be life. There shall be resurrection because that very oil that you have today is what I am going to declare upon. As you anoint yourself it will be going to your CV, to your documents, it will be going to that organ that is sick and has pain, it shall go there. If you have kidney problems the oil will go there.
In the book of Exodus, God told Moses to tell every family to slaughter a lamb and they must take the blood and smear it on the door post. And when an angel of death comes it will pass by where there is blood. But for this instance, I am telling you tonight the Holy Spirit will be hovering, and it will go where there is oil. The angel of death will go away from where there is the blood of Jesus. Meaning the angel of life will go where there is the blood of Jesus. When the angel of death passes by the angel of life, the angel of immortality will enter. When Jesus resurrected, the bible tells us there were angels when disciples entered the tomb. In the graveyard they found angels.
The anointing will not only attract the Holy Spirit but it will also attract angels. “And they said why are you looking for the living among the dead?”, Meaning there is no way that the body can be anointed and the body remains among the dead. There is no way you are anointed, and your CV still remains there, you are not shortlisted and you still be the last, because the Spirit of the Lord is going to hover. It is going to go exactly where the anointing is.
[Romans 8:11] speaks about the Spirit and not the anointing. We understand that on the body there was anointing and there was the Spirit as it speaks about the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. There was anointing on the body but there was also the Spirit. It means the Spirit followed the anointing. It is not the anointing that raised Him, but the Spirit. The anointing was a mark.
[1 John 2:20]
When you anoint yourself, you can put it on your forehead or hands. You do not have to anoint directly where the heart is because you have a heart problem, put it on your forehead, it will go through everything. It is like the Word of God when the bible says that “the Word is sharper than any double-edged sword” it penetrates and goes through. Oil has the power to go through, to penetrate through.
You cannot find demons in the graveyard of Jesus not because of an expensive perfume but what the woman did. It doesn’t matter which shop you bought your oil, it will have the power of God and the Spirit of God upon it.
[2 Corinthians 1:21-22]
The Spirit must come because you are anointed. Where the anointing is the Spirit is there. When Jesus was anointed, the Spirit had to go and raise him. Sometimes you may feel like the Spirit has left you, but the anointing is still there. Jesus stood there, the bible says He shouted “Eli Eli, My Father why have you forsaken me” meaning the Father was no longer with Him. The bible further says that He gave up the ghost, it means Christ left. Christ was no longer there.
Jesus was not born with Christ, and He died without Christ. When Jesus was born Christ was not there, it was only Jesus. “He prepared a body for Me” but that body had to be groomed. When He was baptized, a Spirit like a dove came upon Him, meaning Christ came upon Him. The book of Luke records that “the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me and has anointed Me”meaning Christ has come. Before His death He walks with Christ, Mary anointed Him while He had Christ. After being anointed, on the cross in (John 10) He says, “no one can take My life away, but I lay it down”. Jesus can die but not Christ. Anyone can kill Jesus but not Christ. If Jesus can’t be killed why did Joseph had to run away and go to Egypt? Joseph had to save Jesus not Christ and take Him to Egypt because Jesus can die. If Jesus stayed there, he was going to die because Christ was not there. Remember Jesus was created to die.
When He was baptized, there were many occasions where they wanted to kill Jesus, but He did not run away, He just walked through them or He would disappear. He had Christ, that is why He boldly spoke in (John 10 )that ‘no one can take My life, but I lay it down’. How does He lay it down? The minute He gives up the ghost [Christ], that is when He will be able to die. When Jesus was beaten, He could have died because of the blood that He lost and how He was brutally beaten, but He didn’t die because Christ was with Him.
When He gave up the ghost, that is when He died because the body was weak. The body was anointed, Christ was not anointed but the body. That is why Jesus said that the woman prepared My body for burial. When the body was in the graveyard, the Holy Spirit had to look where the Son was. The Spirit saw the oil and it went and raised Him. Why didn’t He raise Himself? The Bible says “ the Spirit that raised Him from the dead.” Jesus couldn’t raise Himself, but the Spirit had to raise Him.
The Spirit is the guarantee. Hence the Spirit goes where the oil is.
[Luke 4:18]
He says, “the Spirit of the Lord is upon Me because He has anointed Me.” If He was not anointed, the Spirit will not be upon Him. Where the anointing is, the Spirit goes. This was an undercover mission. When the women went there to anoint Jesus the devil was being misled. The Spirit that raised Him from the dead lives in you and it shall quicken your mortal bodies. Since it lives in you, it can never live in you if you are not anointed. (2 Corinthians 1) it speaks about being anointed in God. You are already anointed. I am not here to anoint you but I am here to anoint your CV, to anoint your business, to anoint your marriage.
[Acts 10:38]
God anointed Him. Where the anointing of God is there is function and manifestation, the Holy Spirit is there.
