[Romans 9:1-8]
We know that there is a nation called Israel which are Israelites, but they are not all Israel. When we talk about Israelites, we are talking about the children of Abraham, but the bible tells us they are not all children of Abraham because they are descendants by blood. The minute we speak about Israelites we speak about the sons of Abraham because we know about the promise.
[Genesis 12: 1-3]
God wanted to make a nation out of Abraham that’s where Israel comes out. We are talking about a man who was old and never had a child, but God made a promise saying I am making a nation out of you and that nation is called “Israel” and the father of that nation is Abraham, but the nation existed before Abraham. Abraham was trusted with it that they will come out of him since he is the father of faith.
(Verse 3) You must understand that everything that God is telling Abraham is speaking to the nation. When He says “I will bless you and I will bless anyone who blesses you” He is saying it to the nation. When He says “I will curse those who curse you”, He is speaking to the nation. God created man but there was a nation that He wanted that was His own. Men sinned but out of sinful men He wanted a nation that is His own and this nation will be called the children of God, people of God, the sons of God but they will come out of Abraham.
[Genesis 15:1-5]
The promise this time was so perfect because there was no effort of man, there was no might and power. He shows Abraham the nation He is about to bless him with, it’s a nation of stars.
[Genesis 17:1-17]
This makes it a valid witness, a testimony of two or three is valid. The promise has come out many times. God planned to have Israel but the Israel that God wants is not any ordinary Israel. That “many nations” is not many nations but one nation. When God says to Abraham “you shall be a father of many nations” He is making him aware that it’s not going to end in the ones which are born of his bloodline because those born of his bloodline it’s a nation but God is going to make him the father of nations and when those nations meet and become one, they will be a nation.
Meaning God was telling Abraham that his children will be all over the world, all four corners of the earth. The Father shows Himself in Abraham, He allowed Abraham to become a pattern of the perfect Father that is seated in the heavenly places. God is the Father of Israel, but He chose to show Himself through Abraham. When you read (Genesis 17) everything that is said here, especially to Abraham is prophetic. God is speaking about His true nation which is the true Israel. God is not speaking about Canaan He is speaking about this world (Earth) we are living in.
This nation must have a sign that its covenant is circumcision. God says “those who will be My sons, My nation, there will be a separation between the flesh and the spirit, they will need to be circumcised.” When this covenant was established, a symbol had to be placed there that every boy when they are eight years old, must be circumcised. The flesh must be cut. Eight means new beginnings therefore no one can be a new creature while they still have the flesh. When you are a new creature, it means you have been circumcised.
What makes you not to be an Israelite? Being uncircumcised, and keeping the flesh makes you be cut off from the nation of God.
[Genesis 18:1-10]
What made Sarah have a son is because of the visit not because this visit is the one that brought the son. When we read chapter 17 Sarah’s name has been changed from Sarai to Sarah, mother of nations. This woman in Revelations chapter 12 is not Mary who’s pregnant but is Israel the nation. Israel is seen as a woman. The earthly woman Sarah must have a visitation for her to behold and have a son.
The son that is spoken about is not Isaac because he is not the true promise but a symbol of the promise. The true promise is Christ because is the seed. The seed is not Isaac, but it is Christ. The angel said to Mary “ the Spirit will come upon you ‘in the time of life’ you will get a visitation and behold you will have a child, you will have a son”. This is according to the promise, the prophecy in Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Zachariah touches it also. This is a prophecy that there will be a child out of the roots of Jesse.
Isaac is not a star, but Christ is. When God made the promise to Abraham, He took him outside and said “look at the stars”. So who are Ishmael and Isaac? They are a symbol of what is going to happen. What was spoken was not about them but Christ. If Isaac is the promise, then all of us are disqualified as Israelites because you must be an Israelite according to blood.
[Galatians 3:15-29]
Who is the seed? It is Christ, not Isaac. The promise was made to Abraham and the seed, that seed is Christ this is how we connect and become Israelites. The seed that we were born of is the incorruptible seed which is Christ.
Abraham was not living in the law so he cannot be a man that can be bound by the law. The law came after Moses through angles. Even before Abraham, the promise was there, Abraham was used as a symbol of being a Father of His nation and that Father is sitting in heavenly places.
(Verse 17) Was confirmed by God in Christ, not in Abraham. When we read about the promise it was spoken to Abraham, but God is making us aware that before Abraham the promise was there. When we read about the promise being spoken to Abraham it’s what was already said by Christ. That’s why the bible says you were chosen before the foundation of the world and were made a nation of priests and kings. This covenant was confirmed in Christ, not in Abraham, this covenant is even bigger than Abraham. We are not sons of Abraham but sons of the Father because Abraham is the representative of the Father.
Remember the law talks about gentiles not being part of the promise but this was symbolic. The law was given not to bring the promises and the inheritance but was given for a certain time until the seed comes and the law ceased. The law was placed to usher Christ in. God made a promise to Abraham, but Isaac was not even born yet. It shows that what was given to Abraham already existed it was not a new thing.
Christ is the seed and He is the one who connects us and makes us that nation. Christ is not going to have children like Isaac. How does Isaac have to have descendants, he had to marry and be intimate and bear children but Christ had to give birth to His wife(church) because this is a nation just like Adam, he had to give birth to eve his wife, a rib had to be taken out. Jesus had to die and give birth to the church which is the wife and that is Israel.
The law is given as a guardian for a certain time because God did not want a nation that has transgressions to inherit. Circumcision had to take place for you to become a nation, but circumcision could have not been done until Christ comes. True circumcision can never take place until Christ comes. When Jesus on the cross says “it is finished” He talks about day seven, after that, we cross over to day eight new beginnings, circumcision. When we see the cross, we see a place of separation, a place that circumcises us.
It separates the flesh from the spirit and the spirit becomes heir. We are no longer under a guardian. The Bible says, “you are sons of God through your faith in Christ Jesus” and by believing in Christ Jesus you become sons of God and you become the seed. We are born of God, we came through Christ when He married us.
Why do we have to know that we are Abraham’s seed? Because everything spoken to Abraham belongs to us. You cannot stand like David and say “who are you, you uncircumcised Philistine?” while you don’t know who you are. It is a problem to know the enemy and you don’t know who you are. You know how the enemy is not circumcised but you do not know how you should be circumcised. When David stood and said “who are you, uncircumcised Philistine?” he already knew that he is circumcised he already knew who he is. We have been calling ourselves Christians, but we are not Christians we are Israelites. We are the true Israel.
[Galatians 4:21-31]
These things are symbolic. Even Isaac is a sign (symbolic). When Jesus said “Abraham when he saw my day, he was happy” this was the first time Abraham saw the son. He saw what he was promised Isaac was already there but he was not the promise. He had to see the day and he was excited when he saw the son. Ishmael and Isaac represented something they are not they are not the real thing they are a pattern not the original. We are the original. We are not the pattern. They were walking in the streets of Israel, but they were not stars.
When Jesus was born, they saw a star not stars because stars were to come. Abraham saw stars and those stars are us. Abraham died without receiving the promise because God had us in mind. After all, we are the promise. We are bigger than them because we are the original. If God could walk like that with the pattern how much more about the original. If God could go all out like that for the pattern how much more with the original. How is it that the pattern was too rich, but the original is poor? We are the original, we are the seed and the promise.
It takes little things to miss the original. Even marrying an outsider can make you an outsider. Isaac, who was a pattern, had to receive a wife by a servant being sent and had to see Rebecca up high in the spirit. (Verse 25-26) Hagar is representing Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to Jerusalem the one in Israel, the physical one. Sarah our mother who is the new Jerusalem above needed to give birth to us.
God said to me everyone in him has Ishmael and Isaac but we need to deal with Ishmael and cast him away for Isaac to arise. If Isaac and Ishmael exist together, Ishmael will always trouble Isaac but do not worry circumcision day is where we deal with Ishmael. Ishmael in us is the flesh and Isaac in us is the Spirit. The new has come (Isaac) and the old is gone (Ishmael). By faith believing in Christ, you were born anew. The person born anew can never live with this old person. The old person must be cast away for the new person to live.
(Verse 30) A true Israelite is the one who is born of the Spirit and the one born according to the flesh is not an Israelite. Israel is the one that is blessed. Today I’m going to tell you why you are not blessed, every enemy that attacks you is still attacking you. You have been saying “God has given me the power to generate wealth” but it’s not happening, the problem is that there are still two sons, Isaac and Ishmael in you.
[Genesis 3:22]
Not that the tree of life was not there, it is there but the problem is with the one who wants to eat it. God did not want Adam to eat the tree of life while he has the nature of the serpent. It means the nature of the serpent and the nature of God were going to inherit immortality. God had to chase them out.
[Galatians 4:21-31]
God doesn’t want you to be a millionaire in that sinful nature. God doesn’t want you to be blessed with that sinful nature. While Ishmael is still there, while the flesh is still there no matter how much I can declare, the promises you get are a glimpse, you will get the taste but not the full completion because God doesn’t want that nature to inherit. You need to cast away Ishmael. The flesh can never share the proceeds of the Spirit. Circumcise yourself.
Some of you that Ishmael is not sinning but he is quiet he is only reasoning. When you reason, the flesh is reasoning that’s the reason you are not receiving what God has left for you.
Having a will does not mean you can have the inheritance as long you don’t meet the requirements. These things are in your name, but you can’t receive them because you don’t meet the requirements. Wait until you kick Ishmael out, Ishmael is the obstacle.
Being spiritual doesn’t mean your flesh will be neglected but God still wants you to cast it away. Don’t defend the flesh. What God is saying is that “cast out Ishmael you Israelite and see how am going to bless you this year”. No uncircumcised will succeed or supersede the circumcised.
