‘BE STRENGTHENED ACCORDING TO THE WORD’

WE NOW REGARD NO ONE ACCORDING TO THE FLESH Part 2
December 10, 2021[2 Corinthians 5:10-17]
Regarding someone according to the flesh equates to judging them. In the very same manner, when someone sees their spiritual father or pastor doing something wrong and regard them in a fleshly way, they have already cast judgement upon them.
That is why the minute one judges others they become legible to be judged. They are bringing judgement upon themselves, although there’s a scripture which says “We have all passed judgment” (See John 5:24). If one perceives the other according to the flesh, they have passed judgment to that individual.
(Verse 10) According to what you have done, everyone will then appear before God. Every individual, including your spiritual father or pastor, if they are not doing things accordingly, they will also appear before Christ to be judged.
Seeing someone according to the flesh means you have already passed judgment upon them. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone – many have already casted the stone. Sons have already casted the stone to their spiritual shepherds or pastors. This teaching is about the son and the father because many leave the anointing or covering because the father has wronged them – this is seeing the father according to the flesh.
Many left their covering because they were reprimanded and became offended, they regarded their pastors according to the flesh and by so doing, they casted their stones.
People want to go where they receive teachings that will excite them, they do not go where the Spirit is. The Bible says “in the last days, people will become lovers of themselves and such people want teachings which will excite them and make them feel nice”. (See 2 Timothy 3:2)
The Bible says “we must rejoice in rebuke” – it is the fruit of Spirit for one to rejoice when they are rebuked. When it speaks of joy, it is a different kind of joy. There are different kinds of joys, there is the joy which one has when things go well in their life and also when things do not go well, and also there is the joy which one has when they are reprimanded or corrected. Many lack this kind of joy, when they are corrected they become offended and unaware that this kind of joy is produced by the Holy Spirit.
Such joy can only be produced when one humbles themselves, therefore there is joy which one can obtain only by humbling themselves. The presence of pride is what prevents the next person from obtaining such joy because such individuals cannot receive rebuke and they are unable to humble themselves. There is pride that proclaims that one is right in their wrongdoings.
Certain individuals want their spiritual parents to see how God is going to bless them and yet do not want them to see how they are wrong. They want the parents to separate from what they have.
Their spiritual parents are perceived as prophets when they see how they are going to be blessed and not regarded as prophets when they see how they are wrong. You are their father when you bless them in marriage but not when you tell them to serve as though they are not married.
The Bible or the Word of God is not the marketplace. You can enter any shop and fit whatever you want and if it is not the perfect size you can take them off, however not with the Word of God, you cannot cancel a verse because it does not fit you. Christians try very hard to change scriptures to best suit them, hence when a rebuke does not suit them they want to change spiritual fathers. However, the Word should change you and not the other way around.
Many churches are full not because of the move of the Holy Spirit but because they teach what accommodates people’s behaviors, hence you find a believer who drinks alcohol and sees nothing wrong with their acts, we still see people struggling with homosexuality and such people continue to lead praise and worship.
Such people are lovers of themselves. Whenever one sees a psychologist, they are encouraged to love themselves, to discover themselves and identify themselves and also encourage them to put themselves first. However, when it comes to the Gospel it is way too different, as we are taught to die to self and we must be as Christ. It does not say we must find ourselves but it tells us that Christ is our identity.
Do not come psychologically or with a cultural mentality in the church. Such is a circle where one goes in and out of depression but only in Christ we are stronger than what defeats us because in Christ there is no weakness.
However when we look unto ourselves we see so many wrongs, but when we look unto Christ we see perfection and this is the identity we must stick to. Let the weak say “I am strong” regard yourself no more according to the flesh. Never be ashamed to expose the old person.
What kind of Christians will you be if you cannot expose darkness? Christians are so good at exposing darkness in the world but not within them. Instead of the light shining in them, it shines outside of them. By so doing many are still living under the fig tree, Jesus cursed the very same tree because it could not produce fruits (See Mark 11:12-25)
There was no need for Adam and Eve the evacuate the garden of Eden, but it was because after sinning they covered themselves with fig leaves(See Genesis 3:7)
(Verse 16) Therefore from now on, we regard no one. According to the flesh, we regard all according to the eyes of Christ and not some. Whenever a believer regards the next person according to the flesh, that person is sinning against the masterpiece of God. Therefore let it be God and not you, who labels the next person that they are living in the flesh.
