God cannot send someone if it is not necessary. Hence, Paul said, “When I stand, it is no longer I but Christ” – Paul could have said this in order to transform mindsets. It might be that the people who were listening still saw ‘Saul, the persecutor’. It is important to listen to the message (the Word of God), even though you do not see the results immediately, surely it shall work at the end.
What if the message will work for you good in 2020? Do not despise any message that comes through to you because it does not matter who is the messenger. Christians tend to judge. Do not see the person ministering, however, see and feel God. Moreover, remember that you become what you listen to.
[Genesis 17:1], “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me.” When the Lord appeared to Abraham and instructed him to walk before Him [God], it was an alert for Abraham to become the Word. For you cannot walk before the Lord if you do not carry and become the Word.
In [John 1:1], it reads that, “In the beginning was the Word…” – this is the Word that Abraham had to carry to walk before the Lord. The moment you are the Word, you can never fail. Look at the Centurion man in [Matthew 8], he came to Jesus to ask for help because his servant was sick. When he (Centurion man) approached Jesus for help, Jesus told him that He will come over to heal his servant. The Centurion man refused Jesus to go to his house as he deemed himself unworthy. Yet, this can also be seen as a reminder to Jesus that He is the Word, so He can just speak a Word and the servant be healed.
The Centurion man understood the protocol of being in authority, he knew that when you are in authority, you have the Word that you can speak and people or situations respond to the spoken Word. Hence, he told Jesus that a Word will heal his servant, and there is no need for Him to come over. Another thing to notice is that although the Centurion man had soldiers under him, he himself stood up and went to Jesus for help. Could not he just have sent one of his soldiers? This was a sign that he had the Word [humbleness].
Verse (10), “I have not seen such great faith no even in Israel” – Jesus marveled at the faith of the Centurion man. Many times we are taught to declare things into existence, my question is do we declare in faith? The moment we go out of church and face challenges at home we forget who we are, and even forget to speak the Word. Be a man of authority and speak! It might not happen right away when you speak but ask yourself how many times you have been declaring? The moment you speak, God responds. Though you cannot see it but it is there. Not seeing does not mean it is not there, it is for us to go through a specific situations for us to know that what we spoke actually exist.
[Hebrews 11:1-3], “Now faith is the confidence of things not seen.” Why are we failing to speak the Word? This is because we are bored, when someone come and stand before us, we show no interest in what they are saying unto us. God sent someone to come and deliver a good message, but because we judge and look for revelators – whilst God did not want you to hear revelations at that time, we then miss then message. No matter who is standing before you, do not judge but listen! Look, you are not failing the person who is standing when you do not listen, but you fail God. And you also fail the people who were supposed to receive salvation from you.
What I am sharing about today is what God has been teaching me about. There are times where things were not going well in my life; and I remember being drunk in the Holy Spirit and speaking things. And while I was in that state, I inquired from God regarding going back to school; said to Him, ‘I want to go back to school, I want a qualification and I also want to work’ – and guess what, things came through, but this was something that took place whilst I even forgot about that specific speech.
Our problem is that we forget that we have the Word at our disposal. Yes, we are serving in the house but are we becoming the Word? Are we using the tools? The Word is in you, there is no need to fail. Paul was sent and God trusted him to stand before His people and not shake. The moment you become shaky, know that you do not trust your God. If things do not go well in your life, pick up your tools and become the Word.
[Genesis 12:1], “Now [in Haran] the LORD had said to Abram, “Go away from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you.” At this point in time Abram, was not yet the Word because when he was instructed to leave everything, he took Lot with him. In [Genesis 17], when God ordered him to sacrifice his son, that was when he was now the Word, as he was able to pass the test and now walked before the Lord. He believed and trusted the God that he had. So overall, take heed and become the Word.
