Be careful of deceivers

Between a trouser and a belt, which needs another? Does a trouser need a belt? Or does a belt need a trouser? If you wear a trouser that falls off the waist, does that it means you need a belt? [Ephesians 6:10], “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies”, We are no longer fighting sin.
[Ephesians 6:10], (Verse 13 NIV), “Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist”. Sometimes you should wonder why some things are put first. The first thing you are told is to put the belt of truth on. This is one of the belt you cannot do without. In the olden days, when the soldiers were supposed to go to battle, their armor would be buckled around the waist. They would wear the breastplates and they would hold swords, and the belt would be there to hold the armor together, meaning without the belt everything would fall.
Soldiers would put it on the belt to tighten their weapons. There are many times where one speaks the truth and people do not agree because they do not want the truth. When the truth is there, there is understanding, light and separation. The mistake we can do is to know about the Spirit and not have it. Let us bring it to reality of our times. Many have received the Spirit of truth as a revelation; however nobody speaks the very truth and putting it to practice. We have reached a stage where we no longer fight sin of gossip or a lie etc. Now are going deeper where we are not going to struggle to speak the truth.
We need to have eloquence in our thoughts, where we are able to tell the truth from the mind. It is not an easy task; therefore, you need to resist those ungodly thoughts. You have received the Spirit of truth therefore let it come to work, be able to think the truth. The moment you speak the truth which people do not like, then there must be separation. If there is no separation then it means whatever you speak is not powerful and cannot separate. Verse (16), “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one”; there are arrows which we measure as the word of God which is the sword. Verse (17) “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”. One might ask why is the Word of God at the end and the truth is first? We know people out there who preach the Word but do not have the truth.
Verse (14), “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place”, what is righteousness? We have people who live right, they do not sin and are good people but that doesn’t make them righteous because they do not know the truth. We have people, who have brought peace in the country, but here is a question, did they know the truth? The answer is No; you can be righteous and do well but not have the truth. You can speak about salvation and the bible but when you don’t have the truth you can’t speak about the Word of God.
The moment you have the Spirit of truth you won’t struggle to become righteous, to bring peace or to bring people to salvation. [Ephesians 6:13-18], ‘‘In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare’’. Do you now realize how important the belt is? Can someone graduate without wearing the belt? This is how much the belt is important, it keeps you safe.
[John 14:1-5], “…Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way…” Thomas didn’t know anything. Verse (6) Then Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”, hence the bible in John 1:1 says “…in him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind”. He was the life and the light of man.
[John 14:7], “If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well”. If you really knew me you would know the Father, bear in mind that the father was not there physically. When Thomas said I have no idea about the way, it means there was some direction that the eye had to see. Even though the scriptures said Jesus died on the cross he is still life. Many people pray for others, then after announce it, but Jesus would tell them not to announce that He delivered them. Isn’t that the truth? Jesus healed many people in the midst of many, yet He would tell not to announce it.
Verse (6), “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him”. No one spoke about the Father, but He could answer their thoughts because He knew that they would ask about the father. Verse (8) “Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us”, we learn everything Jesus did, He was not offended by this question. He had to teach and give them milk again to make them understand.
He says to see me is to see the Father. Disbelieve can degrade you. [John 21:15], “Jesus said, “Feed my lambs. Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep”. This is what many pastors are doing out there; they only know how to feed the sheep because they do not have the Spirit of truth. They prophesy only so that they do not lose the sheep. Pray that God does not use you to save others while you are not counted in. No matter how eloquent you can be, make sure you are in (Truth). So Peter since you only have milk just give the sheep milk. Just make sure they do not go out and get lost.
At most time’s spiritual fathers are not wrong because they only give you what they receive from the Father, so when it gets to you, it’s either you receive it as milk or solid food. So do you want milk, want to be fed (Truth) or want to be taken care off? The truth is Spirit, when you are kept you are fed. [John 14:1], “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
How do I know if I am a room or not? How do you tell? Verse (15), “If you love me, keep my commands. Verse (16), ‘’And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth.” You can take in the Spirit of truth because you are a room. You won’t know that you are a room if the Spirit of truth is not in you. The Father has plenty rooms. Verse (15b), “The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. Verse (18), ‘’I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. (19) Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live”. When the world looks at you they will be able to see that this is the Father. Introspect if you are a room which has the Spirit. Check if you have the Spirit of truth in you.
Going back to the question again, does the belt need the trouser or does the trouser need the belt? The belt (Truth) stands on its own – nothing can oppose it. The truth exists, and functions without anyone’s prophesy, it operates very well. You can just sit and do nothing, yet the truth still stands. The trouser needs the belt and the belt can stand on its own. [John 16:4-13], “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard”.
When Jesus was doing the miracles he would tell them not to tell anyone, by this we can also notice that even the Spirit of truth doesn’t bring attention to itself. Therefore put into practice the Spirit (of truth) you have received, when you receive it don’t receive it as a revelation but put it into practice.
