“Let God Use You, Not the Gifts He has Given you” Part 1

Discrimination comes when there is preference – let the Word deal with what is not of God and let what is of God remain. Who you are is original because it is what God has made. There are fake things in us that need to be broken and taken away. Take everything through the channel of the Word, let it refine, burn and remove everything that is not of God which needs to be removed.
Removal is only possible through the Word. That is why I say let God use you, not the gifts He has given you. He can come and use the gift in you and not use you (who you are in Him) because you do not have a relationship with Him. [1 Corinthians 4:12], “There is a diversity of gifts but the same Spirit works in all of them”. So division in the body of Christ is in gifts but in the Spirit we are united. “…diversities of gifts”- meaning that everyone is doing things differently but they are all being used by the same Lord.
There are gifts and there is the Spirit which manifests through the gifts. There are differences of ministries but one God (Spirit) and there are diversities of activities but it is the same God who works all in all. This verse means that it is possible for all the gifts (listed in the scripture) to be used by God but not necessarily meaning that all the gifts mentioned here are used by God.
“The manifestation of the Spirit…” It is an altogether different thing when the Spirit is manifesting and when the gift works. Verse (7), “Manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.” It is not for the man whom the manifestation of the Spirit takes place within.
Verse (8), “For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge…” This is the prophetic in different ways. Faith is given as a gift. That is why Apostle Paul said of Timothy “I am convinced that the same faith that was in your grandmother Eunice is now in you” (See 2 Timothy 1:5) – meaning that Timothy received faith as a gift. It is possible for someone to operate in the Word of knowledge without faith in God. When you operate in gifts you become limited to what is given and cannot go beyond.
[1 Corinthians 12:10], “…there is a gift of speaking in tongues…” So even tongues are a gift, including their interpretation. There is a difference between gifts and when one Spirit which manifests in all operates. There is work of miracles and there is the Spirit manifesting in the work of miracles, so we understand that there is a difference between a gift and the Spirit operating. A gift can operate without the manifestation of the Spirit.
[1Corinthians 10:13], “For as the body is one and has many members…by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body whether Jews or Greeks, whether slave or free, we have been made to drink in the Spirit that manifests in all.” The chapter first spoke about gifts, then the Spirit that manifests in the gift and the body of Christ.
If all of us were an eye, where would be the hearing? An eye is not gifted to see but the eye being able to see makes it to be an eye. The nose is not gifted to smell, it can because it is entrusted with the responsibility to smell. Meaning you have to come to God as you are and let Him use you as you are, if you are an eye let God use you to see. You are not gifted to see but in the body you are assigned a function to see. We are different but our differences do not make us to be gifted. Paul is now addressing you, not what you carry.
You cannot be a part of the body unless baptized of the Spirit. When people think of diversity they think of gifts, not who the Lord has made you to be. Consider Jeremiah, the Lord appointed him a prophet while he is still in the womb that is the function he has been assigned in the body.
